I don't have an idea of how I ended up fanmixing Jack last night really. The idea came, I found out I had some songs aleady and uhm, guess that here it is. The song choice doesn't make much sense if you haven't seen S4. Also, serves for a demonstration that I can't possibly do fanmixes without Springsteen in. Or Bon Jovi in. My bad. I actually wanted to make it a bit grungier but didn't come out that way.

To me, that sums up perfectly how he would feel on being back when he starts to doubt that they've done the right thing. And it's really a beautiful song.

2. Novocaine - Bon Jovi

While that, to me, is the breaking up with Kate square and straight. And yes, I need a BJ song everywhere, too.

To be honest I should have uploaded the whole record this song is from because it's just perfect, but went with this because IMHO it's just it.

This is the Unplugged in NY version. Because it's just better and whoever says that Kurt Cobain couldn't do his job should just listen to that record and shut up -nod-.

I never heard a more beautiful song regarding a troubled father-son relationship. Alright, maybe another one, but he wrote it too so...

12. Estranged - Guns n' Roses

While Axl Rose is probably my musical pet peeve, I love GNR until Use Your Illusion. And while I don't think Jack would like this kind of stuff, I think this is some of the best songs Mr. Rose ever had the grace to put out and works perfectly in the contest.

Bonus:

This is a song by an Italian artist who is IMHO one of the best musicians ever existed period, regardless of the language. And you'll never find a more heartbreaking and haunting song dealing with addictions. The title would translate as 'Junkies' canticle', but it doesn't really make justice to how beautiful this song is. I put a translated piece in the lyrics examples and attempted a translation here. It doesn't even come close to how poetic it sounds in Italian, but it's just beyond beautiful IMHO.

can't say anything about the mix since I have only watched 2 eps of Lost ever (wasn't the show for me, sorry ;;)

but of course you can't make a fanmix without the Muffinman!
Obviously cause he rocks everyones's pants off, but it's probably mostly due to the fact that his lyrics are so wonderful and always teel some kind of story. And story-songs are the kind we need for fanmixes right?

Thanks! And no, I still didn't, but the Great Boone Fanmix of the century is actually in my programs/the works. I just need to find him more songs because while I have the core I haven't managed to get around to the twelve/thirteen I'd need (which is ridiculous since I find songs for everyone else without problems). But the day I do it, it's going to be a serious fanmix with art for each song. I want to make things properly with him -nods-.

Did I tell you about the guy I met in NYC--we were just talking, get that mind out of the gutter (but believe me, he was a cutie, if he was over 22 it would have been perfect..anyway, he not only knew who John was, but he was a huge fan too..and I quizzed him and he wasn't just saying it either, he knew his stuff and he was mightly impressed by my knowledge and fan ways as well.

Oh yes I did! It's funny but for some reason I end up talking to either musicians or people who work in music, one guy I talked to one time worked as a catalouger for a HUGE University.

And this guy was the second one I've found, the first one I was sitting having my lunch at the Tribeca Film Festival and just started talking to a construction worker..the next thing I knew was that I was hearing how cool I was because John was like his guitar god.

Well, I think he's half Italian and half Swedish so he got the whole awesomeness package ;) I can assure you that walnut cookies are delicious *sigh*, indeed. As the guy is but now that's me fangirling.
