1. First thing, birthdays grab-bag since there's a bunch of people having some yesterday/today/tomorrow and seen my track record lately it isn't a given that I'll manage a post each day, lol. Also tomorrow I'll probably end up spamming with old fic or posting new stuff so I figure I'll do it now.

So, happy birtdhay in advance to: [livejournal.com profile] emiliglia and [livejournal.com profile] dastiel_gal for tomorrow and [livejournal.com profile] aurilly and [livejournal.com profile] eide_oconrad for the 28th! ♥ I hope that you all have great days and the great years that you all totally deserve to get and that they're full of amazing things ♥. And if any of you wants to send a prompt my way I'll see what I can do after I go through my WIP folder. (which means you'll probably have a surprise like six months from now. *cough*)

2. Aand have some memes! First one, tagged by [livejournal.com profile] virtual_toast:

* People who have been tagged must write the answers on their blog and replace any question they dislike with a new, original question.
* Tag eight people. Don't refuse to do that. Don't tag who tagged you.

1. Make a list of 5 things that you can see without getting up.
An Atwood book, my gloves, my mp3 player, my printer, a scarf.

2. How many times have you changed your hairstyle in the past five years?
Blah, practically not at all because the only thing I wanted was to make it grow without much success. And after dying my hair when I was sixteen with seriously scarring results, I won't do it again for ages. XD

3. What is your favourite article of clothing (that you own) and why?
Mmmmh probably the first Springsteen shirt I bought at my first Springsteen concert? It's comfy and good for all seasons. ;) I'm also very fond of a pink dress I bought last summer though. xD

4. What's your occupation?
Uni student, former librarian at said uni (not now though, and I don't know if I miss it).

5. What is one thing you believe in and why?
Good question to ask me since I'm pretty cynical when I want to. xD I don't know, I'd like to say human race because as bad as we can get at times you see stuff that makes you think that there's always hope, but I'm convinced of that just half of the time. And I don't believe in superior forces or anything. But I do believe in taking everything without too much seriousness. (And on always looking at the bright side of life, which isn't even my phrasing but it does cover it.)

6. What's your favourite guilty pleasure treat?
Keith Urban.

7. What are you thinking about right now?
I SHOULD FINISH FIC UGH but yesterday I finished two and gave a boost to another, so not too bad. Also cross-stitching is hard, when you're allergic to whatever needles are made of. (Yeah, yeah, possible present for someone going at JIB which will kill my hands.)

8. Write the first word that comes to mind.
Dude!

(Mostly because I'm listening to Beatallica and it's Hey Dude, so XD)

9. Do you have any pets? Did you have any growing up?
No and no. Too many books around for pets to stay comfortably. Also my parents aren't pets people.

10. If you came across $2,000 (or other currency) would you keep it or turn it in?
I'm too nice. I'd turn it in, especially if I found a wallet with a name or something.

11. What was the last thing that you bought?
A dress yesterday along with a bunch of cross-stitching equipment.

12. What other countries have you been to (if any)?
Mmh. *Thinks* France, Germany, Austria, England, Scotland, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Czech Republic, Finland, Russia (just St. Petersburg though, not anywhere else), Belgium, Netherlands, Vatican City (sorry, IT'S A COUNTRY).

13. Where do you see yourself in five minutes?
Finishing to write this entry. If you mean five minutes after I post this, trying to finish other fic or stitching.

14. Last book you've read?
Kurt Vonnegut's Jailbird.

15. What are you doing this weekend?
It's Sunday and I'm not doing anything special. Next weekend I'll maybe go out with a friend and possibly cross-stitch some more.

16. What is your song of choice RIGHT NOW? The one you select when you kick off your playlist in the morning or whenever.
Never Let Go by Tom Waits. I'm in a bad Waits phase right now.

17. Favourite movie of the last six months?
Of Men and Gods, hands down. Also it was a travesty that it wasn't even running for the best foreign movie at the Oscars.

18. What are you doing tomorrow?
Uni in the morning, then either I go to yoga or I write fic or both, unless the books I ordered online arrive. Because in that case I'll just spend the afternoon reading or something.

19. Which part of this year are you looking forward to the most?
CONVENTION IN TWO WEEKS OMG.

Mostly because after that everything I know is examsexamsexams.

20. What scares you the most and why?
My PM. Re why, have you looked at him/his crime record? Then you should know.

3. Theeen, music meme. [livejournal.com profile] elliotsmelliot gave me R and [livejournal.com profile] joyyjpg gave me C.

Comment with "MUSIC ME", I'll give you a letter between A-Z, and you go post 5 8 (because I say so) favorite songs/music videos that start with that letter.

C:

1. Creep, Stone Temple Pilots: or, totally in my top ten STP songs ever. It gives me chills years after hearing it for the first time, and I'll still maintain that Scott Weiland might not be the best human being ever but writes lyrics like a pro.
2. Candy's Room, Bruce Springsteen: or, just listen to it. It's totally one of my Bruce favorites, and the day I heard it live it was an highlight.
3. Changing of the Guards, Bob Dylan: or, one of my favorites from him in the 70s. I love the lyrics. And Patti Smith agrees with me since she covered it. ;)
4. Change of Time, Josh Ritter: haha this is all [livejournal.com profile] wandersfound's fault for hooking me up on his music but the guy is seriously good. And this song is absolutely lovely.
5. Chances, John Frusciante: or my favorite John Frusciante song. The last stanza has some of his best lyrics ever. And I just love the music even if it's very short.
6. Christmas in Washington, Steve Earle: STEVE EARLE MY LOVE or hi you couldn't miss your usual Steve Earle song when I make a list. I love this one. And the lyrics are great and I want to marry them.
7. Christmas TV, Slow Club: I knew this one from the Chuck soundtrack and I really like it. It has lovely lyrics, the music is great and I really like that it's two singers with lovely matching voices.
8. Come Together, Beatles: or, not my favorite Beatles song but it's there in my top fifteen. And say whatever you want but the original is still better than any cover they might have done out of it.

R:

1. Rain Dogs, Tom Waits: totally in my Waits top ten. I just love everything about this. The music totally fits the lyrics and his voice as well and I don't know but whenever I hear it I find it hard to believe I'm not in front of some seedy bar with rain over my head. xD
2. Red Right Hand, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds: or, this might be one of the creepiest songs ever written but in the good way because it's a masterpiece. The lyrics are something out of this world and they match the music so perfectly. And it just gets under your skin.
3. Redemption Song, Johnny Cash & Joe Strummer: best cover that will ever exist. End of story.
4. Ramblin' Man, Allman Brothers Band: do I need to explain this one? Classics are classics. ;)
5. Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner, Warren Zevon: or it might not be my favorite Zevon song (or not even my R-favorite song from Zevon), but the lyrics of this thing are pure genius. Anytime I hear it I just shake my head being like 'how did he even THINK this shit up'.
6. River Runs Dry, Bon Jovi: or, demo that was on the box-set which will show you that BJ can do some seriously kickass music if you thought they didn't. ;)
7. Rescue, Lucinda Williams: I'm so in love with this. I love how rough her voice sounds in it while she keeps it in tone with how bleak the song is. Also the music is utterly bleak as well but I just love the overall effect.
8. Room Without Love, Nils Lofgren: or my favorite Nils song probably. He's good. He really is. The fact that he plays for Bruce is a plus. ;)

4. Life has been fairly uneventful lately. The fact that I don't go to the cinema anymore because the huge one giving movies in original language with subtitles has closed just made it even less eventful, and going like once each month when I manage feels massively weird. Though I've been reading a bunch of stuff which is fairly good at least because I'm actually finishing books instead of starting too many and not finishing anything.

5. Also my favorite class this year includes doing group work (eeeek!), except that no one else wants to work on the article I volunteered for. I just hope it's a question of subject, but tbh while I hate group work I don't even want to explain shit about ancient greek philosophy on my own or at least without someone to share the blame with if I say crap. xD Also I have to stop myself from snorting whenever Anaximander is mentioned, which is becoming a problem. Also last day we were supposed to download a program while in class -- the speed was 6.6 kbs per second. Obviously no one managed. Clearly universities can't afford a decent wireless..

6. Also uhm how is everyone doing with notifications? Because I'm sure I received a huge backlog but not a bunch from the first three days of the fiasco. Am I the only one? *looks around*

7. Anyway, going to work on a post about stuff to do/see in Rome which I had promised to some JIB-headed friends and possibly finish some more fic and feeling like I'm not slacking off while masterfully avoiding to think about the group work possible fiasco.
