janie_tangerine: (supernatural dean/cas angst)
I'm not sure of how 2014!Cas ended up being an influence in this but apparently that's what happened.

Title: and anywhere I lay my head I'll call it home
Pairing: Dean/Castiel
Word count: ∼13100
Rating: NC17
Spoilers: none really?
Warnings: mentions of alcoholism, implied past drug use (neither is explicit though, and none of that happens in the fic itself).
Disclaimer: they aren't mine, the plot is a prompt and the songs are Tom Waits's. Sorry, none of this whatsoever is mine.
Summary: wherein Dean is driving to California but gets sidetracked, and Castiel plays Tom Waits songs in the middle of nowhere.
A/N: written for [livejournal.com profile] drunken_kurage at [livejournal.com profile] deancastiel's Everlasting Birthday exchange; my prompt was Human AU. While driving cross country to meet up with his brother for Sam's spring break, Dean's car breaks down in the middle of nowhere. The closest sign of civilization is a backwater, 'only the locals know about this place' kind of bar. Castiel is a mysterious guy who works in the bar some nights, singing covers of Tom Waits' songs. This was also supposed to have a proper fanmix to go with it but alas, RL happened and I didn't manage - but it could happen later. I changed the prompt a bit because it worked better with the plot I came up with but I hope it's still valid and that it fits the bill. Happy birthday! :D
A/N 2: all the songs mentioned have a link bringing back to my box.net account where you can listen to them/download them, except for one which is on youtube because I don't have the mp3 right now. Also, Auburn, Nevada doesn't exist as far as I could check - I took the name of a random place in Nebraska since it's where the Roadhouse is supposed to be and used it instead.

For the first time in his life, Dean Winchester curses his fear of airplanes. )

Title: on the line where dreams are found and lost
Pairing: Dean/Castiel
Word count: ∼7300
Rating: NC17
Spoilers: for 6x22.
Warnings: angst galore, PTSD (or well, PTSD symptoms), some blaspheming, extremely liberal usage of Christian rituals.
Disclaimer: nothing is mine and I sadly don't make any money out of this.
Summary: Cas won’t ever move on if he doesn’t get closure. or, wherein Dean unconventionally provides it.
A/N: at some point in July I was listening to Bruce Springsteen's Racing in the Street and this happened. Then it took me almost two months to find it a proper ending. *facepalm* I'm totally unspoiled for S7 so there's nothing but speculation in here. Using for the wet/messy/dirty square in my kink_bingo card and for the upset at higher being one on my [livejournal.com profile] hc_bingo one. Title from Springsteen, though it's not the same song that prompted this.

In the end, the solution was easy. )

janie_tangerine: (supernatural dean 3.0)
Fic title: the two faces of vengeance
Author name: [livejournal.com profile] janie_tangerine
Artist name: [livejournal.com profile] hrymfaxe
Pairing: Dean/Castiel
Rating: NC17
Word count: 27000 ca
Warnings: violence, violence and then some violence, character death for a premise and happening throughout the fic, mention of a rape happened before the story starts but not graphic, torture (the act itself is not described in a graphic way, but the scene stops just before it), permanent disfugurement (consequences of previous warning), language (that might possibly be historically inaccurate, but otherwise it wouldn't make the point). Also, every possible spaghetti western trope that you can come up with.
Summary: western AU. Dean Winchester is a bounty hunter, set to catch a group of killers in order to get the money and retire from the business. Castiel is another bounty hunter aiming for the rich businessman who pays that same group of killers to do his dirty work, but for personal reasons. They decide to work together. It doesn't go as smoothly as it could.

Momentarily extra A/N: LJ hasn't been able to post part IV properly and whenever I tried to edit it I got server errors, so it's currently hosted on my Dreamwidth until LJ makes me edit any post longer than 1000 words. Links from both the masterlist and part III bring there and then it links back here though, so there should be no problem in getting there.

janie_tangerine: (supernatural dean/cas finale #2)
Title: the apartment
Author: [livejournal.com profile] janie_tangerine
Claim: The Apartment
Genre: romance, angst-ish.
Pairing(s): Dean/Castiel, Dean/Anna
Rating: PG13
Word Count: 14500 (main fic); 4400 (extra scenes)
Disclaimer: Supernatural isn't mine, The Apartment's script belonged to Billy Wilder and IAL Diamond (I suppose - also they're both deceased, so I just hope they won't hate me too much), nothing is mine except the changes I made to the original plot.
Warnings: attempted suicide, quite a lot of throwing up, touch-and-go mentions of prostitution in the Dean POVs. The first two kinda come with the package, though.
Summary: Castiel is an accountant in an insurance company who unwillingly lends out his apartment to his bosses for their extramarital affairs. Dean runs the elevators in the same company (and Castiel is quite not so incidentally in love with him) and he's dating the boss's niece. The situation comes to drastic consequences. But then again it's the way it crumbles, cookie-wise.
A/N: I just couldn't resist when I saw that I could claim that movie - it's one of my absolute favorites ever and I had been toying with the idea of writing a D/C take on it for ages. That stated, I fear that this is way less funny than the original was, but these people tend to make me write angst. Also, I couldn't decide if I wanted to make it just Cas's POV or alternate it, and then I decided to use Cas's POV only for the story and then write an extra with ten snippets of Dean POV because I figured I could show his side of things. But it's an extra - the full story is supposed to work on its own.
A/N 2 & art: major and heartfelt thanks to [livejournal.com profile] cassiopeia7 for betaing this with a, uh, restricted frame, time-wise, and then made an unprompted absolutely lovely banner for it. Which I love to pieces. ♥
