uhm, I need flashes suggestion. any Charlie/Des expert wanting to give me a hand?
Because of course when plot bunnies hit me something has to miss.
Uhm, I think I'm in a sort of ridiculous position because I have two stories, one a chapter of a series I already started (and it's seriously keeping me behind because I can't figure this) and one that I have a pretty good idea of where I want to go with, for which I need Desmond to have flashes (well, in one it's not strictly that but let's say that it concerns flashes anyway) and while I've been brainstorming on the first for one month and on the second for two weeks, even if probably the easiest thing you can find on that island is a way to die, I just don't have a single idea for what should happen in said flashes. It might be that I hate killing characters and I can't make up ways to die even wanting it, but it's not like I would be killing anyone here in the end, so I wouldn't know what's up with me. Which is particularly annoying since in the series I need Desmond to have a flash to get the plot moving or I'm stuck and for that other one I need at least six or seven different ones.
So, uhm, I realize it's way of a morbid question and all, but help me out? Can someone suggest me some flash that wasn't already featured (aka no birds, no traps of Danielle's even if I could go back to those if I'm desperate, no lightening rods and no drownings)? I swear I'll put everything to good use and that Charlie is going to live and come out absolutely in one piece out of everything I need that stuff for ;)
And now I guess I'll be back on Kant. *sigh*

Anyway, let's see... I don't know what time frame in the Lostiverse your story takes place in, but depending on that, somebody could sleep out in the jungle somewhere and get crushed by a Dharma Initiative supply package that was dropped from the sky.
I also got an image of somebody climbing a rope or a vine to retrieve something important from the top of a tree, but the rope or vine breaks at a really bad time, when the climber is already way high up. Clearly I'm interested in vertical-oriented tragedy.

The tree suggestion is good. I think somebody had a suggestion about the parachutist - that she might be up too high to reach her so they might send Charlie up the tree on a pulley rope and something goes wrong.
Charlie builds a lot (Eko's church) so some sort of building related accident could work. There are lots of hungry boars and bears in the jungle too. In Trials of Fate I had a flash of Charlie burning to death after Claire's hut catches on fire. There's also extreme weather - a monsoon or tornado could hit the beach.
The island can apparently make Jack sick (?) so I don't know why it never attempted to make Charlie die of an illness or infection. Dumb island.
Another possibility a lot of people were suggesting was that somebody might try to kill Charlie. The main ideas were Jin (finding out about the Charlie/Sun incident) or Juliet who might have been friends with Ethan and want revenge. Any of the Others might try to kill him for some random reason. The flipside is that Charlie could try to commit suicide.
Okay it's weird how many killing Charlie ideas I can come up with. Honestly Charlie, I really do love you! I guess I've just thought about this story too much.

I'm soo taking notes of all the others.. I think I might have the one for the charlielives challenge out soonish. As soon as I give the Kant exam.. *sigh* thanks for the suggestions! They definitely helped ;)

or, well, one of Richard's accolites can always jump out of the blue and shoot/strangle/push someone off a cliff.
