1. So, in my 'OMG I NEED TO FINISH THE GODDAMN THESIS' frenzy which won't sadly be over until Friday (but at least I'm far enough), I totally neglected a bunch of birthdays. So, happy birthday (for today) to [livejournal.com profile] eponine119 and happy late birthday (in some cases extremely late) to [livejournal.com profile] crickets, [livejournal.com profile] zoemathemata, [livejournal.com profile] briteskies and uuuh, everyone else who had their birthday in November. <3 I hope you all have had/are having in one case a great time and uh, happy late birthday again. <333

2. Okay so uh I have an exchange fic due in three days and I haven't started it. Eee. Well, tomorrow I'm off work so if I can work on the thesis in the morning/early afternoon I'll see to do it in the evening or something. Why am I always so last minute? I hope it teaches me regarding the master's degree, because if I end up like this in the next two years... okay, no. *doesn't think about it* why is procrastination so tempting? (Reading: why did I have to find out that there exists a free game on stephenking.com which is Dark Tower inspired? Sadly it ended too soon once I figured it out, but it made me lose enough time. Ugh, procrastination.)

3. Switching topic happily and without care for subject.. my PM's comment on students protesting because two weeks before the confidence vote they're approving the most hideously stupid reform that has ever been conceived: 'if you're real students, you'd be home on books' (and not worrying about the fact that you're destroying public university). It made me wish I was out marching too, but I can't because I'm apparently a real student and I need to get my degree, ugh. I feel so bad.

4. Meme stolen from... a bunch of flisters, because I wrote seven pages today and have time to kill, and because my brain doesn't feel up for more:

Don't take too long to think about it. Fifteen fictional characters (television, films, plays, books) who've influenced you and that will always stick with you. List the first fifteen you can recall in no more than fifteen minutes.

random book/movie/tv people, I guess. With maybe some comics thrown in.

5. Okay, last point because this entry wasn't born to be full of deep meaning. Hi to the new people who friended me lately! :) Do you want me to add you back? Please talk to me? I don't bite. ;)

Hiiii. First thing, welcome to everyone from the Castiel friending meme! :D I hope you all have a good time. If you need more information about yours truly, it's all in the sticky post at the top. It doesn't say that half of what I do lately is procrastinating over my bachelor degree's dissertation, which is exactly what I'm doing right now, but it'll hopefully be over by the end of December.

Mostly, this is just because this needs to be shared. And posted. And stared at. And stared at some more.

I mean. Uhm. YES. It's making me FEEL FEELINGS.

Also I should be writing this whole Kant thing instead of staring at THAT. /is incoherent/ okay, maybe I should stop with this procrastination thing. Maybe.

.. because I really should be talking about politics but thinking about politics makes me feel more depressed about it than I feel already. So, meme stolen from [livejournal.com profile] wandersfound, because I should be writing a thesis and I need procrastination material.

The Rules: Don't take too long to think about it. Fifteen authors (poets included) who have influenced you and will always stick with you. List the first 15 you can recall in no more than 15 minutes, and they don't have to be listed in order of relevance to you.

mine here! )

Ugh seriously someone inject some motivation in me. I actually like what I'm doing. I can write in a pretty decent Italian and I can even make footnotes right. And apparently I didn't make mistakes with the bibliography. Why am I procrastinating so much? *sigh* *goes to re-read another bunch of Kant biographies to add stuff into chapter one*

1. Happy birthday [livejournal.com profile] bitterbird!! :D I hope you're having/had (ew, time zones aren't my friend in this case?) a great day, and have an imaginary Matt Bomer delivered to your door on my account. ;) ♥ and best wishes for an awesome next year! <3333

2. In other things, library work might finally gain me some money, except that no one realized I was supposed to graduate in December (even if I DID specify it) so I'll have two cover in two months the amount of hours I did in like four. Ew. At least I'll be paid faster? Which would be good because I really need money.

3. I managed to get tickets for Nick Cave and Grinderman! Sadly I didn't manage for U2 (the next day of all days), which means I'll end up going to the venue like in the afternoon and see if someone sells some. Well, someone probably WILL since they did for Bruce Springsteen, but it still means I'll lose a lot of time. Blah. :/ Also I really don't want to drive to either venue but I might be forced to, especially because coming back would be a problem. Especially in with the first one. Also going alone to both is kind of a bummer but ee, apparently my socialization skills department is very bad when the problem is making friends with people who have your music taste/go to concerts.

4. Since everyone is doing it, I'll do it too. :D

Since it's Banned Books Week a meme is going around. Cross out the ones you've read, if you read it in school bold it first.

Premise: here you almost never read entire books at school and if you do it's Italian authors, so I highly doubt I'll bold much.

heere's the list. With maybe random comments. )

5. I saw Inception again. The second view was definitely needed because since I wasn't trying to guess anything I just went with it and it's a lot better when you do. I'll make some more extensive post about it sometime soon but anyway, I still ship Cobb/Saito hard.

6. So I haven't been doing review post for stuff that isn't on the vporn or SPN, but spoilers for last Chuck episode and maybe the first too ) Also, spoilers for Boardwalk Empire maybe, but slight )

7. Next time I post it'll probably be fic. Either new, or I'll manage to re-post the SPN five acts fics, even if re-posting eleven or twelve ficlets half of which title-less makes me want to procrastinate. I hope, at least. Between work and crap I have been procrastinating like nothing else lately. What news.

1. I seriously need to keep myself in check when I find stuff on sale. I went to my beloved international bookshop/record store and I got myself Chabon's first book, the Watchmen paperback in English which, with taxes and shipping and everything costs twenty euros less than the Italian version and which I obviously could afford and three Pearl Jam records because the price was seriously ridiculous. But I solemnly swear I'm not ever going there again until the next month at least.

2. Music stuff part one because it deserves its own point: I had the disgrace of listening to two Johnny Cash remixes made by Snoop Dogg. *shudders* Now. Rap!Walk The Line was unbearable but I could arrive at the end, dance!Get Rhythm was not. *throws up and raises the Temple Of The Dog which is on* Seriously. So-not-funny, so not necessary and so stupid. Who the fuck ever had the idea of a record full of Johnny Cash REMIXES? Geez. Remixes. Like he was some cheap dance artist.

Well, someone remixed The Sound Of Silence into some dance version once so I guess you can, but... *is disgusted*

3. Point #3 is about me and my Smashing Pumpkins disillusionment, #4 is about very strange coincidences and my newfound crush on grunge music. Feel free to skip, long stuff ahead. )

5. Meme, the twenty questions, tagged by [livejournal.com profile] alliecat8 and [livejournal.com profile] hopelessfangirl. Since I already did this I mixed the questions from the two and then changed some stuff myself.

click here, if you want to do this consider yourself tagged. )

6. This was way too long. And it's late. I'll probably go and start reading Watchmen. -nods-

1. Happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] eponine119, even if you'll see this in a while I guess. But I hope you're having an excellent vacation!

something for you meanwhile )

2. I think I'll be doing the Christmas cards post after all, probably in a couple of days.

3. Since I still have that fever, tomorrow I'm skipping lessons to go to the hospital and get visited. Again. I wish it was for something that at least appeared serious, damnit.

4. The trailer for Gran Torino totally made me squee. Well, okay, I'm a pacifist who abhors violence except when Clint Eastwood goes out of the house in the night with his shotgun shouting 'get off my lawn.'

4b. And since this evening there's a cinema that is making a screening of all the Leone movies, I'm soo going to see The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. It's not like point 3 will get worse since I've been doing stuff as usual for a month anyway.

5. [livejournal.com profile] marylou_gr, I got your card and it was awesome, thank you so much! ♥ and LOL, bloody stereotypes indeed! But the fluffy angel got here safely, thank you again! ♥

6. I need to get back in the habit of finishing things. I've got four ficlets started and three novels I'm a few pages short of finishing and it's one week that I can't focus on one thing.

7. Uhm, guess that's all for now. I just hope tomorrow I find out what the hell's wrong with me since all the other tests I had said there was nothing wrong. *sigh*

1. So today I was at this record store and they had more or less near each other Chinese Democracy and The Songs of Pete Seeger vol II featuring a cover by Steve Earle. Guess what I bought, same price?

2. And then there's the mini bio inside and they say that determined to be his own man, Steve Earle has walked through his personal and professional fire and emerged as a fearlessly independent musician and human being. Seriously, that's awesome. Apart from the fact that is true, but still. I love Steve Earle. I seriously do. And that record is all kinds of awesome.

blathering of the Lucinda Williams, Nanowrimo and Supernatural kind + ficcing poll because I need stuff to write in pauses from lectures and I'm undecided. )

Still sick. *sigh* And for the one day I stay at home and could have my laughs with Heroes in the morning, I find out that it wasn't airing yesterday. Oh well. I pretty much spent my morning doing other stuff. Such as,

7823 / 50000 words. 16% done!,

which is pretty much good. I might do more this afternoon. And since I had the post almost ready for three days or such, I finished the rec post of everything I read for the [livejournal.com profile] lostsquee feedback challenge.

This is a looong list. 30 fics everyone should read with kind of long ramblings coming for free )

Okay, that's it. I guess. Oh, and last evening I re-read pretty much all of Of Mice And Men. *sniffs* God, it's just so beautiful. Though today it'll be the turn of those two novels set in Cannery Row, I think.
