BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN! + other stuff

1. Rome Film Festival: mission semi-accomplished. Meaning: both movies were awesome, trying to catch Bruce was not accomplished. But, more in detail:

a) The People vs George Lucas is a blast! Okay, if you're not into Star Wars at all and you aren't interested in sociology/anthropology, then you probably would die of boredom, but it was a pretty interesting documentary and tbh, it was refreshing to hear a bunch of fans saying that the SW prequels suck. (Even if I still maintain that Phantom Menace was the best of the three, even if it was bad.) But it gives you interesting thoughts about business vs artistic integrity in general, about creator vs public issues in how you need to handle something successful and then well, if you're into SW and if you hate Jar Jar Binks it's fun as hell. And Christ, I never even knew that the Star Wars Christmas special existed, but seeing pieces of it on that movie positively made me laugh for the entire five minutes they talked about it.

b) Then, Italian organization: fail. wherein I explain why )

c) Apart from the clusterfuck in B, at least being in the gallery meant having nice places for the movie (because staying in the front with such a big screen = headache) and damn I need to buy that box set now. Because it was gorgeous. Technically and also from the Bruce fanatic POV, but that was a given. And it also had surprise!Patti Smith, which was a lovely bonus. Anyway he came out after it and sat with two journalists and Jon Landau (!!) and the director, and there my camera died for good. I can't even turn it on anymore without the lens hissing. But, I managed to take some crappy pictures and a video, which I guess isn't THAT bad. So, cut.

BRUCE! )

d) This is mostly for the lulz, but anyway. My dad is a cruel person. This morning he's like 'have you read that after the movie he went to have dinner with fifty fans?'. I check the online article. It said fifty 'notable' fans, which I guess means that it was either people who ran a website or the fan club or SOMETHING. And I'm like 'well, since when I'm a notable fan?' and he's like 'oh dear, you really suck.' And I'm like ';_______________; FOREVER.' Why did he even have to tell me? I could have used some dinner by then anyway, since I was starving..

2. Anyway, that was it for Bruce. Other important thing: SIGN-UPS FOR LOST HOHOHO ARE OPEN at [livejournal.com profile] lostsquee!! Go go go sign up! I can't do it because I a) don't have time and b) I need to match people and I don't want to end up assigning myself someone because it could be partial but GO! It's just 1000 words and the more people sign the least headaches I'll get when I need to do the matches. Sounds good? Then do it! ;)

3. I still need to do my mini_nano amount for today. I'll do it after I'm done with this entry. Also because yesterday I did 1100 words when I should have done 400 so yay!

4. Whoever decided to turn on the heat in mid-November is a criminal, btw. It's freezing regardless of how many layers you wear. And it's colder inside than outside. /rant

5. For anyone who read in my previous SPN review one reason why Dean is Beatrix from Kill Bill, I did a follow-up. Castiel is featured in this one, too.

I feel like this is stuff which would be more suited for tumblr but whatevs I don't have one )

6. And since this post got way too long because of pictures, I'll cut it here and go writing. Or studying. Or something. Ff after yesterday, today was such a drag.

almost leaving! + beta-ing stuff + other random

1. Okay, I'm leaving for the European Lost fangirl gathering tomorrow! :D I'm so excited. And I need to grab some Edinburgh tour guide so that at least I have a map. Anyway, if anyone wants a card and hasn't commented from the other post I did, this is your last chance. ;) If I have your address already just tell me, if not PM me?

2. cut now because it's solved. )

3. Patti Smith concert was AWESOME. I want to be like her when I'm sixty. I might post some pictures and a video later if I manage to pack and be done with everything I need done at a reasonable time. Which reminds me I should go to the station to get my bus tickets for the airport in advance, but I'll do that as soon as I'm done with this.

4. The car, by the way, is at the mechanic's atm. Hope is that they fix it before Monday. Let's cross fingers.

5. Okay, I need some pretty in this post. So, have some Misha from SDCC. Pics were saved from various sources in the last three days. This man is too lovely for words. [PS: I'm unspoiled. I didn't look at the videos because for some random reason I decided I don't want to hear S6 spoilers unless it's vague stuff, so don't comment about whatever they could have said about it in comments, please? ;)] And also, have some Prettiness always from SDCC.

cliiick. )

6. Okay, since I just made this post relevant in some way, I can go dealing with station stuff. I might have some other luau stuff to post this evening if I'm done with all I have to get done, and otherwise see you all on Monday! :DDD I'm so excited oh my.

The huge Ian Somerhalder birthday picspam that you get each year.

Why, did you think I was skipping that this round?

You were so wrong. ;) Also because since last year there have been shoots and THE VAMPIRE PORN, I REPEAT THE VAMPIRE PORN. Also, ages ago I told [livejournal.com profile] emiliglia that I'd hook her up with Prettiness shirtless-ness, so there's that too.

Warning: this is heavy. It will break your dial-up, if you still have one. I take no responsibility for it. ;)

(Also, I sent him a message on Twitter. It feels weird to make him birthday wishes on Twitter. But still. That's what's it for.)

aaaaand it's 31! )

Bye for this year. I did my job. Now I'll try to answer the comments I have NOT been notified yet...

for [livejournal.com profile] picspammy round #3: the boathouse/final scene from Maurice

Because point is, the book from which this movie is from is one of the best things that ever happened in my slasher life and that movie is probably the best adaptation from a book I've ever seen and I don't talk about both nearly enough. Also, they feature one of my top three OTPs ever. Also, I'm not spoiling anymore here (I probably will flail under the cut) but I totally had to do this, too. -nod- This thing is addictive.

He felt that not merely things wouldn't go wrong this time but that they daren't, and that the universe had been put in place. )

for [livejournal.com profile] picspammy round #2: the rooftop/tears in rain scene from Bl

Well, after my favorite scene ever in a tv-show ever, you get the best movie ever. I don't know if it's my overall favorite scene mostly because I change idea every time I watch that movie, but this one usually gets the vote most of the times. Obviously, huge spoilers if you didn't see the movie. And yes, I was all for the replicants, mostly.

All these moments will be lost in time like tears in rain. )

for [livejournal.com profile] picspammy round 1: the pens of doom scene.

I'm planning on more than one entry for this challenge at [livejournal.com profile] picspammy (next one is probably Do No Harm *cough*) but seriously, did you think that I was going to be original? Really?

Well, I'm not. Draw your own conclusions from the fact that my favorite scene ever in any show ever in the history of ever happens in the first twenty minutes of the pilot. ;)

I didn't know which one would work best. )

Teh Pretty picspam of DOOM.

His Prettiness turns 30 today! And comes closer to the usual age in which I find men sexy, even if he's the exception confirming the rule. Or something. So, here follows the Ian Somerhalder picspam of DOOM that will definitely break your dial-up and include, apart from of course Teh Pretty, tax accountant suits, gratuitous stripping in the middle of the road, yoga, masturbation wins t-shirts, guitar playing and the scepter of Moses. Yes, I need to prove that I didn't hallucinate that. Also, the spamming here should definitely be different from last year's even if the favorites are always there. Also linking to it on [livejournal.com profile] picspammy because he's definitely one of my favorite persons all things considered.

pretty overload under the cut. Happy birthday! )

Woah, that was tiring. But hey, I do it once each year, at least I do it right. ;)

meme x 2!

So, I was tagged two times for this meme. And [livejournal.com profile] lasamy says she tagged me spiritually. Which means I'm going to spam three different men and totally cheat. Yay! Also, I know I was tagged also for the twenty questions meme two times. I swear I'll do it sooner or later *sigh*.

Rules.

1. Pick a hot guy... take a moment to think.
2. Is this really the guy you want?
3. Pick his top 10 hottest, cutest, most irresistible pictures.
4. Tag 5 other users. If you're on my FL and are a considerate person, you WILL do it ;)

NOT dial up friendly.

hot guy #1 )

hot guy #2, some fifteen years older than #1 )

hot guy #3, some thirteen years more than #2 and the still the finest back of r'n'r history. )

And that was my spam. Whoever wants to follow my example, has my benediction ;)

Barcelona pictures!

Phew, I really am too lazy. It took me two days to decide to upload the pictures and stuff but here I am ;) Not dial-up friendly.

welcome to my not-very-artistic Barcelona pic show )

And that'd be pretty much all. Apart from pictures, the weather was great, the food was delicious and my feet still hurt but it was totally worth it. I had a great time and I definitely love Spain *sighs*. Next round I'm going to Madrid though ;)

Oh, and best thing of all? The coffee is good. Really good. And I'm sort of shocked because usually when I go outside Italy is generally long and less strong than it's here, but Spanish coffee is delicious. Absolutely approved! Argh, can I go back?

another total crush birthday + various

Hey, I'm not late! It's still the 5th here!

Because John Frusciante is total love and one of the few people I like who still isn't at least forty. )

That said, new Lost tomorrow! Or the day after for me but whatever. Which means I'll spend Friday writing Jack/Juliet. Very highly probable. And if I manage to, I'll be doing Desmond/Daniel. If that little adorable geek only wasn't a damn physician. I don't understand physics. And I like to understand where characters come from. If only I could write it from Desmond's POV, but I think that with the plot I have, I can't. Oh, but I'm doing it. /ends rant

In other news, I went to a noir movie showing they're doing for some kind of miracle since you can't find a cinema showing old movies anymore here and saw Elia Kazan's Panic in the Streets, which was good even if I guess that a pneumonic plague danger would be a lot more difficult to handle. Courses started again but at least no exams, I obviously can't find half of the books which is absolutely normal and I spend time asking myself why the hell I didn't start listening to Elvis Costello before. I'm reading No Country for Old Men which has to be one of the weirdest books (in the good way) I ever stumbled upon and I guess I don't really have anything more serious to add. Except that I find incredibly amusing that my moral philosophy course's subject is mostly John Locke with a side of Hume, whom I now can't help picture with Desmond's face. Lovely, innit? Okay, done for the pointless entry. No, it had a point. The Frusciante spam ;)
