Phew, I really am too lazy. It took me two days to decide to upload the pictures and stuff but here I am ;) Not dial-up friendly.

First Day (April 28th, not counting the 27 since we got there late at night and didn't see a thing)

Where yours truly had a nice general look around the city and actually went for the very first places where everyone goes. Aka the Cathedral (which was actually under [ ] so we could only see the inside) the Sagrada Familia and one of the houses Gaudì built, Casa Batlló. And I've got pics of everything.

The Cathedral (only the inside and a part of the [ ] because on the outside it was just a big advertisement):

While these were a square near there and a couple of roads in the gothic side, just behind the cathedral.

The Sagrada Familia:

Back entrance:

Casa Batlló (day and night view, too!):

Outside:

View on the dining room:

The road from the dining room:

The inside [ ] where the lift is:

The terrace and the roof:

Night view:

Actually there was a sort of party up there where everyone's face was covered in white make-up, that night. It was somewhat scary. But I loved that house.

Second day (April 29th): this was actually half devoted to the History of Catalan Art museum where I couldn't take pictures and so I don't have many, but I've got a couple of the museum itself and of the view you could see from it. The museum was awesome, especially the Romanic and Gothic parts. Though it was more tiring than actually be around the city for one day.

Then we went around in the center along the Rambla and these are some random pictures. thankfully the weather has been great for the whole four days we were there.

And this is another Gaudì house (which wasn't visitable so we didn't go in but saw it from the outside anyway);

Day three (April 30th): where yours truly actually did a very shallow thing. My parents went to see the Picasso museum but it happens that it's one of the few artists I kind of don't like. *takes rotten tomatoes* Which actually resulted in me spending the morning buying records in a backroad which had a record shop every two doors. And I got myself Steve Earle, some Bon Jovi bootleg, Pete Seeger and some other stuff at a ridiculous price. But I took some pictures also of the road where the museum was since then I met with my parents there and we went to the third Gaudì house, Casa Milà or La Pedrera.

The roof:

Day four (May 1st): where we went to the Gaudì park and the Tibidabo hill before leaving in the late afternoon. Park first (which I definitely loved) and hill secondly (where since I'm not too fond of amusement parks the best thing was the view, definitely):

The park:

The view from the hill:

Plus, some random shots taken on some days that I don't remember/fun stuff:

The monument for Cristoforo Colombo (well, he was Italian, I'm Italian, I call him in Italian ;) )

The only book distribution machine I ever saw in my whole life. It was in the metro and the books were mostly rubbish but still ;)

[livejournal.com profile] zelda_zee, if you're reading this you'll probably have a good laugh. I personally had one, and very long and good and refreshing.

^ I kind of cracked up at that.

And that'd be pretty much all. Apart from pictures, the weather was great, the food was delicious and my feet still hurt but it was totally worth it. I had a great time and I definitely love Spain *sighs*. Next round I'm going to Madrid though ;)

Oh, and best thing of all? The coffee is good. Really good. And I'm sort of shocked because usually when I go outside Italy is generally long and less strong than it's here, but Spanish coffee is delicious. Absolutely approved! Argh, can I go back?

Barcelona looks gorgeous, got to go there sometime! Looks like you had a really great time. Was that your first time there?

The Sagrada Familia is beautiful, I love that building.

I love book vending machines, but the coolest one I ever saw was an iPod vending machine.

Yeah, it was my first time there, though not in Spain. I've been to Seville, Granada and Cordoba (the first more than one time) and I just love that country.

I love book vending machines, but the coolest one I ever saw was an iPod vending machine.

OMG. How much money did you have to put to get an ipod? ;)

There's some very pretty architecture there! It's not a place I've ever been to, but I might be tempted now :)

Thanks for sharing. Barcelona looked really pretty. I loved the Gaudi architecture. The building reminds me of a Dali painting. I'm glad you had a great time and found new music! That book machine was strange indeed. Apparently Nora Roberts and someone name Holt are really popular.

From: [identity profile] janie-tangerine.livejournal.com
Roberts and Holt looked to me like kind of cheap romance novels but it has to be the kind they sell here in the newsstands. Well, one can't want Moby Dick on a book vending machine, though maybe the Flying Spaghetti Monster would have been a better choice!

It really is a pretty city and yeah, the building had a Dali resemblance! Luckily I like Dali much more than Picasso *coughs* Great to hear you liked them!

Fantastic pics! I love Barcelona. I've visited their twice now. You got some great pics of the Gaudi stuff. I love that Park. If I lived there I'd spend all day chilling in that park. It's like Wonderland!

What did you think of the old town? I love getting lost in those little back streets. Hope you enjoyed the Sangria too! Well, I'm so glad you had a nice time. Is this your first trip to Spain then?

I've never asked you this but where abouts in Italy do you live. I've travelled around the north of Italy and visited Venice.

I loved the old town. It's really beautiful and unique, the architecture is great and that park is a beautiful place indeed. Now I just want to go back *sighs*. I actually didn't have the sangria because I get sick after a beer, seems like I've got some kind of automatic rejection to alcoholic drinks, but I totally enjoyed the food and everything else. I loved that city.

I live in Rome and then you should probably visit the center too because we're better than the north ;) nah, kidding, it's all a beautiful country even if we (Italians) don't appreciate it enough. Venice is really beautiful and the north really is too. Turin would actually be the only Italian city I'd ever consider changing Rome for and I love it. But here below we've got a better weather ;) and I live in one of the most beautiful cities ever so I don't complain!

Gah! I'm jealous. I want to visit Barcelone again. I love Spainish food too, especially paella..umm.

Wow! You live in Rome! I definitely want to visit Rome one day. I've heard Bologna is nice too. I live in Cheshire near to Manchester, one of the most beautiful cities in the...oh, no wait. Well, okay, Manchester and Liverpool aren't pretty at all but they have really cool music scenes.

Whenever you come, if election results haven't forced me to emigrate quickly, I'm here! I love Bologna. I think it's a really beautiful city and surely worth a visit. And well, as a Beatles addict I'll have to go to Liverpool one day ;)

You came to Barcelona!!!! OMG, I missed the post you said you'd come here, otherwise I'd have meet you or something!

It feels so weird to see of my city like that in somebody's else's flist. Not weird, but cool somehow! Not that I go to these places every day, but I like in a small town really close to Barcelona, and I go there every week, sometimes more than once.

Great pics, I'm glad you enjoyed it sweetie.

*tight hug*

If I just knew it sooner I'd have posted it before in order to organize it before I left but I got the confirmation two days before.. but I'm so planning on coming back there, you can bet on it.

I can see it's a weird feeling! And thank you, I really enjoyed it ♥!

I've been to Barcelona a couple of years ago and I loved it.
Gaudi's artworks really impressed me and the city was so bright and full of life.
Happy to hear you had a great time!

and the book vending machine was so cool! I found one (and an iPod vending machine too) at the Toronto airport, but having it in the street is much better! :)

Also... I see there were almost no tourists over there... lol.
