janie_tangerine: (HELLOOO)
... wow? Uhm. Haha. I don't think I've ever left lj so long without updating? /o\ ugh I'm so behindddd I can't even. Thing is that rl decided to happen worse than usual (ie worse than the first two months of this year) and I pretty much fell behind on everything go me? Okay uhm so, I'm just going to give a bullet points thing of what has gone down?

a) I finished the master's degree exams - which was actually the #1 reason why I ended up falling behind - you'd think I'd have thought of putting an official hiatus on... anyway, I have just the thesis left and then I'm done? Which - seriously, I can't wait. The last finals were the feast of Ican'tgiveashitaboutanyofthis, ew.

b) So as it is I'm working on the thesis, which at least is one thing I actually give a damn about. I'm also done reading Wild Cards and re-evaluating e-readers, if only to read stuff that you should read on the computer as an only alternative.

c) I also figured I'd give an update because from tomorrow I'll have crappy internet access for the entire month and the idea of leaving the journal deserted until September was totally depressing, but anyway - if anyone who's still around wants postcards from either Vienna or Paris or both tell me and if I have your address is good, if I don't then PM me and I'll be more than glad to provide. :)

d) For the first time in years FINALLY they managed to arrive at the last trial degree to condemn Berlusconi, which totally doesn't mean that he's out of the picture knowing the guy, but it's farther than any other trial managed to get, so yay for that?

e) Comprehensive point for fandom - discussion is welcome but as it is I can't possibly catch up with everything I missed so feel free to go at me with months of lateness ;)

1) SPN: I loved everything about the ending of the season. I'm also ridiculously optimistic about it. I'm thrilled that no one important is dead and that Cas is human for good because omg such good possibilities <33333, and I pretty much was 100% behind the plot in the last three/four episodes or so. I'm currently not too much into the fandom killing itself over possible female interests that are stated to be not permanent but that's not related to the show - I'm ridic excited for S9!

2) Vampire Porn: this season was totally meh but picket itself back up in the last two episodes. Also, please keep Alaric ghosting around because he and Damon are still the best thing about this entire show.

3) GOT: the RW legit put me moping for two weeks. Ops. No, seriously, I spent two weeks going around the house on the point of weeping at every stupid thing. Other than that: better than S2 overall, I was WTF about 90% of Stannis's stuff this season, I'm plenty glad they reunited Jon and Sam, Jaime and Brienne were flawless, the Theon stuff killed me ten times overall and I hate HBO for *that* certain change about which part gets sent to his dad and Asha was better in the two scenes she had than a bunch of other people who had a lot more screentime to themselves. Anyway, as a general adaptation it was tons better than S2, even if Cat not getting screentime in favor of shewhoshallnotbenamed was horrible and.. well, the Robb storyline could have been awesome and it wasn't, but eeeeeh.

4) I've actually watched and caught up with the entirety of Breaking Bad in the last three weeks, which is also the reason why I didn't update here before - TOO BUSY CATCHING UP. Anyway, I'm gonna copy my opinion from the post I wrote [livejournal.com profile] falafel_musings on tumblr the other day because it pretty much sums it up and I can't be bothered to rephrase it XD

spoilers )

Hopefully when I'm back from the various places I'm going to this summer I can post about the last season along with everyone else. I'm so excited for it omg.

5) Pacific Rim was awesomecakes. I'm totally stalking fic for it on ao3 though I'm not planning on writing it anytime soon since I already am behind on fic I should finish and I'll be for years at the rate I'm going /o\, but anyway it was pretty much the only monsters vs humans action movie shot after the fifties that I've seen and actually really fucking liked - not to mention that it was a hell of a lot smarter than 99% of movies in that genre.

6) I have no clue of how I'm doing Gishwhes this year since I'm in Paris for a fifth of that week, but I'll manage to come up with something in that timeframe... (anyway, Misha = ♥ I CAN'T WITH HIM LATELY)

7) Oh, Under the Dome is also pretty cool, but if you read the book imo you can't enjoy it fully since they made two huge changes I'm not exactly down with. (Aka: my favorite character changed job and is stuck outside the dome so he has no role and Julia is too young for that part. I liked that she was older than the usual leading lady, damn it.)

d) Concerts-I've-seen-this-summer speaking: Bruce Springsteen was outofthisworldfuckingawesome as usual, Bon Jovi round two ended up in Dry County + These Days AGAIN which would have been enough but seriously asdfghjkl they were awesomecakessssss, the National were WOW (though seeing them the day after BJ after a three hour train ride put a hamper on my ability to stand up XD), the Patti Smith one I caught in April was outofthisworldexcellent but then again I think I've seen her more times than anyone else I've seen (except Bruce maybe) and I wasn't exactly surprised on that side. Also I ended up going with my parents to an Inti Illimani concerts that was for almost free in a park and while they definitely were more schooled on the songs than I was it was pretty damn good too.

e) Books I've read: Wild Cards as a whole is great but I'm not gonna go do a twenty one books series review in detail in a post that is already ridic crowded - suffices that I loved it. xD Considering that reading twenty books in a row took me five months and that I was doing the last finals I haven't read much other than that and my school books, but for something different: the last King (Joyland) is also pretty great and DOESN'T have a fucked up ending (!!!), though the last twenty pages made me scream in rage for different reasons - and I kind of cried at the end even if it was a book about killings in an amusement park. I'm completely beyond any kind of dignity. Saramago's Blindness (which I should have read years ago, in my plans..) is a total masterpiece as far as I'm concerned - probably I won't read a better one this year but then again we're talking about stuff that is waaaaay above average level. Coming down to less exquisitely literary deals, Fifty Shames of Earl Gray is hilarious. And you don't even need to read the original to have a crack, as long as you know the general plot and the basic character traits you're good. Honest, I spent a train ride trying not to read hysterically out loud.

f) On to the rest: WHAT IS GOING ON WITH YOU FLIST? ;_; I can't possibly catch up to... five months of missed entries especially when I'm leaving again tomorrow and I still have to finish packing so catch me up with what's been going on with you? At least when I'm back I won't be TOO MUCH out of the loop. <3

Aaaand okay I'm going to finish packing - I'll answer eventual comments in the evening :) (if I don't, I will at some point next week when I actually have time to do it from my outdated phone, ops.) ♥

[service communication: if I'm not around here, I'm definitely around on twitter - handle is always janiedean]
janie_tangerine: (supernatural dean 4.0)
1) First: happy birthday [livejournal.com profile] cassiopeia7! :DDD I hope you're having an awesome day, that you get a lot of books for gifts none of which by Jane Austen and that you get spoiled with as much cake as you'd like ♥

2) Then: there are two tv-related things I'll talk about in this post. Vampire porn: okay listen this season doesn't seem like the epitome of coherent plot to me, but the Originals-related spin-off made it look like old school HBO in comparison. I'm not even going to bother with spoiler cutting, but I've never seen anything more ridiculous in my entire life. Okay, Ringer was probably as bad if not worse in certain points, but hahahahaha no. Considering that I really don't care about Klaus regardless I'm... not watching it. Nope. Sticking with the good old vampire porn, thanks.

3) Thankfully Supernatural was the total opposite instead (meaning, I loved the shit out of it).

spoilers )

4) Also, a meme from the aforementioned birthday girl in point one. :D

Basically, you give someone an age and they fill out the meme for where they were and what they were doing. If you want to join in, comment and give me a ballpark figure for how old you are now, or a decade of your life for me to choose from, and I will select an age for you. She gave me 17. :)

here - THE EXCITEEMEEENT )

5. Also: Patti Smith might be going towards seventy but you totally don't notice it. No seriously if when I'm her age I'm 5% as cool as she is I'll take it. (Yes, I went to concert number six. I think she's officially the person I've seen live most. <3)

Related to that: when I went to buy the tickets, I also ran into a horde of Justin Bieber fans. It was... uuuh. An interesting experience. details here )

6) I've also seen IM3! :D even if I still haven't seen the second. I'm a horrible fan. Whatever. No spoilers because seriously I watch those movies mostly for fun and I don't really have anything deep to say, but it was a good movie, I had a lot of fun, at least I caught it in English and the post-credits scene completely killed me in all the good ways. Anyone who's seen it knows what I mean. And if you know how I tick then you probably guessed why I've been all like THE POST-CREDITS SCENE since yesterday. Also if someone had told me that I'd go watch RDJ being Iron Man when I was dying over him when he was in Ally McBeal I'm not sure I'd have bought it, but it's all good. NOW SOMEONE PLEASE GIVE ME THE CAPTAIN AMERICA SEQUEL THANK YOU I need that certain character back in my life.

7) Steve Earle's new record is beyond excellent. <3 Yes, this deserved a point for itself.

8) Also, I bought cookie stamps and I made Stark and Tully cookies. I figured I'd share because I'm very pleased with the result xD

Also, Alfie Allen needs to stop being fucking adorable and making me die over his stupid face. There, I said it.

9) Aaand that's all I have for now. I'll probably go crash before I look at the clock and realize that it's 2 AM again. (The joys of never going to bed at reasonable times...)
janie_tangerine: (the vampire porn damon 2.0)
1. Exam two on five is done! Now if I can just keep up the average that I managed to get this round I'll be a happy person. Other than that, it has snowed for the first time in years! Like, seriously snowed with the snow lasting for three days. And obviously since our mayor is an idiot, the city is half-paralyzed and today they closed everything even if it has snowed on Friday. And obviously public transport isn't working either. *facepalm*

2. And since this weekend I stayed holed up to finish an exchange fic that ended up being 28k and I didn't manage to do reaction posts, have some TV blathering under the cuts. SPN, vampire porn, Luck and some Ringer headdesking.

a) Ringer 1x10/11(getting the crappy stuff out of the way first): okay, this isn't gonna need spoiler cuts because I can't even take it seriously enough, but I can't wait for Misha to do that episode so I can quit watching it. The last two episodes were... the epitome of abysmal. I mean, my most basic reaction is is everyone in this show completely dumb?, and the fact that the only person who showed some smarts lately is the bff's husband says all. Also cut for potentially triggering subjects ie non-consensual sex )

b) Luck: no spoiler cuts since this is just general impression, but is anyone else watching this? Horse races/betting isn't really my thing but since a) it's David Milch's idea, b) Dustin Hoffmann is in it c) Michael Mann directed the pilot I figured I'd give it a try. I thought it was pretty good even if it's not at the awesome level that Deadwood was (at least at the pilot level) and in the only episode I watched it was all about characters, but the second looked more fast-paced and the acting is actually excellent, so I guess I'll stick around and give it a chance. Heck, I still haven't quit Ringer and that one is just bad, this one actually has good premises...

c) SPN 7x13 the splice girls - spoilers )

d) Vampire porn 3x13 bringing out the dead )

3) Also, in the midst of all the Plato I had to read I managed to finish this non-ASOIAF novel by GRRM which I think deserves a bit of a rec if only because it's.. well, an interesting read at least. Or well, I bought it mostly because when you tell me that it's a novel about a former rock journalist turned writer who lives wondering where his generation went wrong in the seventies and ends up investigating a murder that is related to some cursed rock band named NAZGUL and which could be the trigger for the apocalypse... well, color me intrigued.

by the way, it's named The Armageddon Rag )

4. Also, I managed to see J. Edgar obviously months after the rest of the world saw it and apart from some questionable choices in make-up department... Clint Eastwood, just never stop making movies okay. Clearly it got Oscar-snubbed too (seriously, poor Leo deserved a nomination at least), but whatever, I loved it. ♥

5. Random music rec for Bob Dylan fans (and well, look at the list and see if there's someone you like): Amnesty International has produced this OMG SO MANY SONGS compilation thing named Chimes of Freedom where.. well, a bunch of people cover Bob Dylan songs and that you can buy on their site for a total convenient price (20 dollars for all 78 songs, 25 dollars for the cd or you can buy individual mp3s). Apart from being for a good cause.. well, while there's something in there that is questionable at best (I still don't know how I feel aboutMiley Cyrus or about Kesha covering Don't Think Twice, It's All Right...) there are some damn awesome covers (IE: Patti Smith doing Drifter's Escape, Gaslight Anthem doing Changing of the Guards, Mark Knopfler doing Restless Farewell, Flogging Molly doing The Times, They're a Changin' & Pete Seeger doing Forever Young, and there are also the likes of Jackson Browne, Nils Lofgren AND Paul Rodgers [which sent me into heaven], Lucinda Williams, Kris Kristofferson and Steve Earle; also I think there are a couple new groups I want to check out just based on how they did Hattie Carroll) and it really is a bargain, so I figured I'd leave the link here. Also all the money goes for a good cause, so..

6. Okay, I'll now go deleting all the spam comments that LJ has seen fit to send my way lately (if they want me to be frustrated with them, they're doing it right...) and amusing myself with the porn battle prompts for this round that I have eyed today. There's been some awesome stuff posted already. :D *goes eyeing prompts*
janie_tangerine: (the vampire porn damon/alaric phone)
So I looked at the top fives and decided that three out of eight required visual evidence and two youtube evidence, so I'm doing two posts. This round is one of the youtube ones and the visual evidence-less ones, the next will be the other youtube spam one and the ones with picspams.

For now you get: top five shows you plan on watching but haven't yet, top five Deadwood quotes, top ten Italian movies (because I couldn't choose five) and top five vampire diaries porn moments.

all here! )

See you next round with the remaining top fives!

Or, random huge-ass post of random.

1. Happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] missy_useless!! ♥ ♥ I hope that you're having the most amazing day/time and that next year is utterly awesome for you. :D and if you want to throw me a prompt I can see if something comes out of it. ;) Meanwhile happy birthday again!

2. So everyone in SPN fandom knows about Misha sending out puzzle pieces because he couldn't send real rhino meat to people, y/y? (That man is crazy.) Well, mine got in yesterday! :D I was so sure that I had screwed something up. Or well, since he/his PA added something like five stamps I had probably gotten the stamps wrong, but whatever, it arrived in spite of the suckiness of the Italian postal service, which makes me very happy indeed. Anyone on my fl on team five as well? *looks around*

3. Aaaand *drum roll* after a year because clearly my uncle screwed up with gifting me dvds, I'm done with Six Feet Under S4! I started S5 as well but before the whole thing becomes a blur in my mind I'll just write down my S4 impressions and S5 will come in a couple of days. Seriously it's taken me such a ridiculous time to finish this..

wherein I ramble about how amazing can SFU get )

4. Quick movie recs post: The King's Speech is an excellent movie and deserves all the awards it gets (and the acting is amazing. Everyone's acting actually. I'm so glad I caught it not dubbed..). I sadly haven't managed to watch any other Oscar nominated movie since none of the others is out here yet. *siiigh* on the other hand, I don't know what were the judges at the Rome Film Festival on when all of them at once decided that Kill Me Please deserved to win, but it was one of the most confusing movies I've ever seen. And not because it was too complex, but because you really don't get what the heck is the point of it. Or at least I haven't. I'm still asking myself what the heck was the point of the whole thing.

5. I don't have pictures of the Adler's Appetite concert I attended with [livejournal.com profile] _izu_ and [livejournal.com profile] marlonob last week (though I will have them, as soon as they're sent over to me), but, for GNR savvy people, I glomped Steven Adler. I might have picture proof of at least hugging him (the glomping wasn't recorded, thankfully). It made me a very happy person.

6. Uhm, sadly this is all for now. And uhm, this was indeed so random.

1. First thing, happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] wandersfound! :DDD I hope you're having an awesome time on this side of the ocean and that the next year is the most amazing ever ♥ ♥ ♥ and I have stuff for you in the works but look for it either tomorrow or the day after, I sucked at organizing time as usual. ♥

2. Personal news (ooh! .... not really): number one, I took up yoga again (was high time I did it) and damn I needed to do other exercising that isn't walking. Number two, I have a German course starting tomorrow. Be ready for me headdesking for the next months and sending PMs for all you German people in my FL for grammar advice. XD (Okay no I won't stalk you for THAT, really, but the occasional help request might happen.) Still, I need to do it at some point and I can't do another degree without at least reading it.

3. Late thanks are late: Christmas cards! Er. Sorry, really, I never really managed to do a proper post and then I got sidetracked a bunch of times and uh, I hope it's okay if I thank everyone whose card I got at once? (I'm going in the order they're piled up so totally random.) Okay, so, thanks so very much to: cut to spare your fl )

4. I signed up for [livejournal.com profile] spn_j2_bigbang AGAIN. Except that I really don't know what I should do for it (last year I did). I'm contemplating doing the regency Dean/Cas AU I had in program for the au_bingo card but that I'm sure would need at least 40000 words and I doubt I can get that and the rest done by February which is the deadline, but idk if I get a better idea I might see. Also ha lol I still haven't started anything for [livejournal.com profile] apocabigbang. I'm not that worried because I have a 12000-to-edit apocafic that I haven't gotten around to post which I can still use if I don't manage to decide myself before the deadline, but still, go me really. (PS: anyone who watches SPN and has read The Stand who'd want to do some brainstorming? I wanted to do a crossover but I'm undecided.)

5. Golden Globes thoughts: the only movie that was released here of the ones running was The Social Network, which I haven't seen, therefore I have no serious thoughts. But damn Colin Firth's Italian is excellent. Does he want to have a conversation with me?

6. TV: I'm catching up with Leverage which I'm loving, but as I'm in mid-S2 I'll just do a post for everything when I'm done with S3. Also, I was the latest one to the party to watch BBC!Sherlock, about which I probably have thoughts to share but I don't want to burden this post, so maybe I'll do it along with Leverage. For now I can just say that the law of 'the character Janie likes can never be the main one' strikes again because the one I'm most invested with is Lestrade. Er. Well he's Rupert Graves, dammit, I've been fangirling him since I was sixteen! (and he aged so well. Mm.) Anyway will probably do a serious post later this month. But anyway, if anyone in the fl except for [livejournal.com profile] thandie has some Sherlock/Lestrade recs, uhm, pretty please do want? ;)

7. short blathering re Hereafter and how bad dubbing is and how cinemas suck in this city )

janie_tangerine: (bruce no surrender #2)
1. Rome Film Festival: mission semi-accomplished. Meaning: both movies were awesome, trying to catch Bruce was not accomplished. But, more in detail:

a) The People vs George Lucas is a blast! Okay, if you're not into Star Wars at all and you aren't interested in sociology/anthropology, then you probably would die of boredom, but it was a pretty interesting documentary and tbh, it was refreshing to hear a bunch of fans saying that the SW prequels suck. (Even if I still maintain that Phantom Menace was the best of the three, even if it was bad.) But it gives you interesting thoughts about business vs artistic integrity in general, about creator vs public issues in how you need to handle something successful and then well, if you're into SW and if you hate Jar Jar Binks it's fun as hell. And Christ, I never even knew that the Star Wars Christmas special existed, but seeing pieces of it on that movie positively made me laugh for the entire five minutes they talked about it.

b) Then, Italian organization: fail. wherein I explain why )

c) Apart from the clusterfuck in B, at least being in the gallery meant having nice places for the movie (because staying in the front with such a big screen = headache) and damn I need to buy that box set now. Because it was gorgeous. Technically and also from the Bruce fanatic POV, but that was a given. And it also had surprise!Patti Smith, which was a lovely bonus. Anyway he came out after it and sat with two journalists and Jon Landau (!!) and the director, and there my camera died for good. I can't even turn it on anymore without the lens hissing. But, I managed to take some crappy pictures and a video, which I guess isn't THAT bad. So, cut.

BRUCE! )

d) This is mostly for the lulz, but anyway. My dad is a cruel person. This morning he's like 'have you read that after the movie he went to have dinner with fifty fans?'. I check the online article. It said fifty 'notable' fans, which I guess means that it was either people who ran a website or the fan club or SOMETHING. And I'm like 'well, since when I'm a notable fan?' and he's like 'oh dear, you really suck.' And I'm like ';_______________; FOREVER.' Why did he even have to tell me? I could have used some dinner by then anyway, since I was starving..

2. Anyway, that was it for Bruce. Other important thing: SIGN-UPS FOR LOST HOHOHO ARE OPEN at [livejournal.com profile] lostsquee!! Go go go sign up! I can't do it because I a) don't have time and b) I need to match people and I don't want to end up assigning myself someone because it could be partial but GO! It's just 1000 words and the more people sign the least headaches I'll get when I need to do the matches. Sounds good? Then do it! ;)

3. I still need to do my mini_nano amount for today. I'll do it after I'm done with this entry. Also because yesterday I did 1100 words when I should have done 400 so yay!

4. Whoever decided to turn on the heat in mid-November is a criminal, btw. It's freezing regardless of how many layers you wear. And it's colder inside than outside. /rant

5. For anyone who read in my previous SPN review one reason why Dean is Beatrix from Kill Bill, I did a follow-up. Castiel is featured in this one, too.

I feel like this is stuff which would be more suited for tumblr but whatevs I don't have one )

6. And since this post got way too long because of pictures, I'll cut it here and go writing. Or studying. Or something. Ff after yesterday, today was such a drag.

/rant

Ee, happy Bastille day AND, most important, happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] toestastegood and [livejournal.com profile] mollivanders!! <3333 I hope the both of you are having a lovely time and that next year is amazing for the both of you because you totally are awesomeness and you deserve that. In the former's case I hope it's filled with exams dealing with Lucifer lore, Titus Welliver starring somewhere he gets top bill, and also with John Winchester resurrecting (and I so can't wait to meet you! ♥), while in the latter's case I most definitely hope you get as much hat porn on Justified (which I will have to watch sooner or later..), politics getting less bitchy to deal with and awesome people guest starring on the vampire porn. ;) Happy birthday to the both of you again! And if you want to prompt me I'll see what I can do. (Even if I know what [livejournal.com profile] toestastegood might want.. which she will get eventually, I hope. ;) ) <3333

--

Also, random stuff that doesn't deserve bullet points: my Lost fic apparently reminds that generator everyone knows about of Stephen King, my LJ posts are like Margaret Atwood and my SPN porn is similar to Nabokov. At least it's all people I like, even if the only one which probably is half-right is King. Or at least, I've been told that my style DID resemble is ages ago, but then again it was Dark Tower fic. Still, my capslock posts being like Atwood is hilarious.

And since I'm an idiot and forgot to say, thanks so much [livejournal.com profile] siluria for the Deadwood postcard!!!!!!!! It totally made my day when it arrived. :DDD

--

Okay, I'm back on brainstorming on luau catching up. But, last thing, if you haven't seen The Beguiled, then I highly recommend it. For not entirely shallow reasons, I swear. ;)

Okay, that was all. *waves*

1.

DO THIS. It's awesome. I'm almost done with the one I claimed and I asked for some Dark Tower which I fear no one is going to pick, but I'll see to choose a more doable fandom for the wish I have left for now. ;)

2. In other news: I'm actually ahead with studying for my first exam on the 7th. WTF. I am never ahead. Well, I won't complain about an entire week of revising, right? And I might sneak pedagogy in there and actually accomplish something for once. I feel weird, lol.

3. Six months after the rest of the world I've finally seen The Road, and while I had to wait until now for it to be released I'm glad I did because if I had watched my previously downloaded copy (which I got in like December) it wouldn't have been as good. cut for some spoilers even if I guess that whoever wanted to see it did it ages ago. )

4. another movie rec, re a movie - Draquila - which has political content here therefore if you're interested click and if not skip. )

5. I'M DONE WITH CLASSES UNTIL NEXT YEAR. \o/ Well, I have six exams to go and a thesis to write but I'M DONE WITH CLASSES. *phew* I could weep with joy, especially because of the Saturday at 8.30 AM one. Also I start training at the library on the 8th and start working for good in July. Eeee. At least it's money coming in and I'm pretty excited to start.

6. Also, I didn't have time to talk about the Chuck finale because it was right after the Lost one, but just one thing: spoilers )

7. I owe some e-mails I think. I'll answer asap, sorry but I've been half swamped with studying, the last classes and trying to actually see a couple of movies before I bury myself in books until July. And to read some fiction before the only fiction I read becomes all the Kafka I need to finish for my German literature exam. Thankfully I had read half of it already when I was fourteen or so. Also, I probably had something else to say but it's one AM and I can't recall, so it'll come with the next update. *waves*

8. Uh, also, hi new friends! Both the ones from that spn friending meme and... the three or so people who added me without saying anything? ;) Er, do you want me to add you back? Talk to me, I don't bite. ;)

1. Well, milestones not really, but this is my entry number 1000! Yeah, random. Still, it's 1000. Duh.

2. Aand, today is crush #1's birthday! (Crush #1 is Jon Bon Jovi, for anyone who wasn't around for a long while.) I still think that he lives in a refrigerator when he isn't on tour because he doesn't look 48 at all, but still. (Also, if this year I don't land a BJ gig it'll be a goddamn joke. I've been doing the fangirling business for ten years, it's ridiculous.) Also, according to the band's facebook page, I could actually call some American number and leave the guy a birthday message but I don't really think it'll ever be the case. That'd be way too weird. Though, cool thing I guess. I'll have to admit their facebook is a totally cool thing. (Also it's adorable that the four of them use Twitter from the band's account, but I won't digress, especially because last month I actually sent crush #1 a tweet when he said he was learning to use the whole thing and that was surreal enough. *cough*) Anyway. Last year I went and uploaded These Days which is my favorite record, this year I'm uploading Keep The Faith which is my second favorite.

Original version + the two Japan bonus tracks happily zipped together.

tracklist and stuff + artsy picture because I say so and I love it. )

3. This term's classes have a crappy schedule. It'll suffice to say that one is on Saturday at 8.30 AM. *headdesk* But. It's my last term. Not ever because I'll have another two years after the bachelor degree but it is until next year at least. It's kind of scary-ish.

4. Random movies talking: Invictus was awesome. Not the Gran Torino/Iwo Jima movies kind of awesome but still, <33. Also, the soundtrack is ridiculously good. And then I went and managed to find myself a copy of Help! which was my only Beatles movie missing and it was awesome, even if not at the A Hard Day's Night levels. Even though the priestess which was a total Paul fangirl and the ending titles were totally worth it alone.

5. I fear I don't have much more interesting stuff to say for today unless we talk politics and I already can't wait to be done with regional elections in a month. *sigh* I'll probably go studying some, even if the weather is too good to waste the afternoon on pedagogy.

6. But, last thing, meme from [livejournal.com profile] wandersfound because I feel like it.

First thing before the bullet points, happy extremely late birthday to [livejournal.com profile] marylou_gr! Sorry but on your day I was knee-deep in studying and since I actually did the exam I didn't have time to do an entry. :/ I hope you had an awesome day!! <3 And if you want to prompt me with anything I'll see what I can do.

1. I PASSED THE DAMNED MEDIEVAL PHILOSOPHY THING. \o/ I didn't exactly ace it but I wasn't wanting to ace it. I just wanted to pass it and I got a decent grade out of that too so totally not complaining here. I can't believe I'm done with it, ohgod. I don't even care that I need to do another three before I'm done with this term. I can bask in the feeling of being done for another couple days at least, lol.

2. Wherein I rec Nick Hornby's last book, Jordan Zevon's record, more or less, and A Single Man, more or less. )

4. Memes to pass the time! This from [livejournal.com profile] gottalovev.

Comment and I'll pick three of your fandoms and post the answers to your journal and so on and so forth. I got Lost, SPN and Watchmen.

answers! )

5. The icon meme redux because [livejournal.com profile] hopelessfangirl tagged me again but I'm not re-doing it as a whole. ;)

blathering, again. )

6. Blah, I wrote a lot less for the lostsquee fic battle than I'd have liked, but the last week I basically buried myself in St. Thomas. I'd have rather written fic, but I did chunk out at least seven ficlets so I guess I'll be satisfied with that. And I'll finish the two I had started and didn't manage to finish asap.

7. Lost is back in three days for me, YAY!!! Damn you all Americans/Canadians who get it in two, lol. But it's kind of fun that now I'll get to see it on Wednesday which was the usual day for everyone else. Anyway. I'm hopeful and confident that this season will be better than S5, mostly because a) doing better than S5 can't be too hard and b) SPOILERS ). Even if damn, I don't know if I'm ready for it to be the last season but whatever, for now I won't let it creep up on me.

8. Okay, this has probably got too long already so I'll cut it here and, uh, either go writing or collapse to bed with some book. Damn, I should have gone slower with Nick Hornby and make it last at least two days, I just realized I don't have anything light or relaxing at hand. Ah well, I'll see. *waves*

1. First exam of the round = done and it went a lot better than I'd have figured considering that it was hardest subject #2 and I studied a total of... one week and a half or something, even if I think it was less. Now I just need to get through the one I have on Friday *headdesk* and through the godawful Medieval philosophy one on the 29th and then the remaining two are fairly easier. When February 1st comes I'll be a much happier person though.

2. [livejournal.com profile] sapphire_child, thanks so much for the card! <333

3. I'm totally excited for the fic battle at [livejournal.com profile] lostsquee next week! And by the way, go prompt if you already didn't. ;) and duh, I accidentally read some Lost spoilers that make me very intrigued. I still am not as flaily as I was for S4 but it also might be that I've stayed away from spoilers this year and I don't know zilch. I have hope that it >>> S5 still. *sigh*

4. I'm so glad that Chuck is back!! <333 couple spoilery-maybe thoughts )

5. I also signed up for [livejournal.com profile] spn_j2_bigbang in probably a moment of premeditated craziness. Dean/Castiel AU of doom which has been in my head for a month, I'll so write you. Or I hope, at least.

6. I think I want to do a very seriousbusiness post about how much I wish I lived in a more civilized country atm, but it'll probably have to wait until Friday.

7. movie blathering about Looking For Eric and Dr. Parnassus, plus Italian distributors are stupid. )

8. I'm sure I wanted to say something else but I can't recall, except that I haven't read a proper book in a month and I want to read a goddamned novel, but until the 29th I doubt I'll manage anything not school related. Also, university websites not working has to be a Murphy's law or something. *sigh* And with this, pointless random entry of doom is done. ;)
