janie_tangerine: (HELLOOO)
HAI EVERYONE! *waves from the hellhole aka the grandmother's place*

Okay, let's do bullet points, also because my internet is limited.

1. About the previous statement: I'm currently at the village in Sicily where my grandparents on my mother's side live. Unfortunately, it's usually hot as fuck and this year is freezing cold. Also, on the good side, I have internet at home because my mom has a key to connect. On the bad side, her job pays for the internet, which means that while I avoid the internet point, I can't stay long each time and I realized that checking the friendlist (except communities) isn't doable until I get back to civilization (which is, August 14th). Therefore, since I'd hate to miss stuff, if you post anything relevant (fic, your life, philosophical questions, whatever XD) link me, pretty please? Atm I can just check a couple of communities if I want to have time to answer comments and stuff, too. :/

2. On the other good side, I have time to read. I finished Robert Harris's The Ghost Writer in two days (mostly just because I wanted to see the movie) and King's Under The Dome in one setting while I was on the boat. It took me about seven hours but I couldn't put that thing down. I'll probably do some more serious review of that, but basically: it wasn't The Stand, but it was good. And the end was way less horrible than I feared, even if I had reservations. Also, none of my favorites died. I am deeply shocked by that. Now I need to tackle some Kafka and some thesis reading but since I've been staying holed up at home I guess I'll have read ten books by the time I'm out of here.

3. Also, my [livejournal.com profile] castielfest fic number 2 and my [livejournal.com profile] deancasbigbang are now edited! \o/ Having time is good. Also I finished my [livejournal.com profile] help_chile fic, too, but regarding that, I need a beta. More under the cut. It's a SPN/Dark Tower crossover, so skip if not interested. ). Now I'll see to tackle some late luau requests. Having time to write is good, seriously. Having a new netbook to do it with is heaven.

4. Apart from that, I'm bored to tears, but I always am whenever I'm here. Then I'm trying to convince both my grandmother and my aunt that I don't want to be social or get out of the house because I'm antisocial like that, but it isn't working that much. And I should write some thesis draft or finish the pedagogy stuff, but I guess I will manage since the most I did was going to the sea. And it was also crappy, but I hope it gets better tomorrow.

5. Okay, that's pretty much it for now. I'm afraid I don't have anything more interesting to share right this moment (I should upload my Edinburgh pics on the netbook, do a post there and then paste it from the one where the Internet is. Mh. I'll do that soon-ish, I hope), but please link me stuff! I want to stay on par. :) *waves*

6. ETA: for the three/four people who added me in the last five days: do you want me to add you back? Say hi! :) I swear I don't bite. ;)
