Heee, I totally am too. ;) Yay for being bookworms together!
1984 is just... gah. There's no limit to how good it is.
And YES, BAUDELAIRE! I think I'm more of a Verlaine girl but BAUDELAIRE YES, AND FRENCH. I ♥ French like woah.
YOU WIN. God, yes, finally someone else who dislikes Jane Austen too! I just can't get what the hell is so special about her. I just couldn't stomach her style or characters or anything and yeah, pretentious is exactly the word I was searching for. Apart from the fact that in the end the supposed independent heroine always falls at the hero's feet which seriously makes me roll my eyes, blah. And YES, YES, YES. Bored and offended is the perfect Jane Austen combination, lol.
(WHAT? I NEED TO READ THAT STORY!) I absolutely love Hollow Men. Actually I love Eliot tout court, but those two are just.. guh.
Before Night Falls is awesome! It's such a good book, I wish it was more known around.
HEEE, I COULDN'T EVEN TRY WITH TWILIGHT. I mean, I read excerpts online and such and I think I flipped it open at one library but her writing just hurts my feelings. I mean, fuck, I was better when I wrote fanfiction at sixteen years old, and I'm not one who prides much on her writing skills in comparison to published authors, lol. And Rice.. meh. I can't see the appeal. It might be that me and books about vampires never really clicked but Interview With A Vampire was one of the most boring things I read all my life, not to mention pretentious, too.
LOL, good question! But I guess he is possible since he exists, thankfully for us! Unless he's a fandom-induced hallucination, but that'd be too cruel of a reality.
Also, why does no one else know who Warren Zevon is? I am bothered by this.
Because the world has some wrong stuff in it, like no one knowing who WZ is and the guy not being a superstar of the Springsteen category when he was still around. *sniff* I ♥ Warren Zevon really.
