This made me cry all over again... but in a good way. Like everyone said, I needed to read this, and I hadn't even realized it.
Castiel suddenly feels his eyes stinging, and he can’t bear the idea of losing his brother just as it seems like he finally found him again, despite what went on between them, but Gabriel shakes his head and raises his hands as he looks straight at him. This tore my heart to bits. Castiel has nothing of his family left, and then for a bit he does, then he's losing it all over again. My heart broke for him. Shattered, really.
Also, the image of Gabriel ruffling Castiel's hair? Fucking adorable. Awww, big brother Gabriel!
At the end, when he felt Gabriel die... that's when I started crying again. It was all beautiful and sweet and fucking tragic.
