Given the fandom, i'm pretty used to loooong waits so take all the time you need!! Just knowing that you haven't totally given up on writting the sequel is enough for me!! And since the new DT book is supposed to be released in 2012 i think it'll be the perfect year for you!! In the meantime, i'll be in my bunk, re reading the series, and angsting about the adaptation!
