I also don't get all the hate that's been going on lately. Really, was anything Castiel did so much worse than what Sam's been doing in s4? They both wanted good but got tangled up in their own shortcomings on the way and it ended in crap. But for now we can at least assume that whatever Castiel WILL do, it will still be based on good intentions. Sam released LKucifer and that wasn't good at all, so Cas kinda wins this round. At least he means well.
Yes, god!Cas was all about talking and looking at Dean, but hey, nothing new, when he WASN'T. ;) And since he asked (maybe not politely, but again, the Winchesters are his role model family) for Dean to basically love him, he'll probably try to do things to prove Dean that he's worthy of Dean's love. I know, deity and such, but he's still CAS somwhere deep down and that would be such a CAS thing to do.
Also if Dean's storyline next season was about trying to get Cas back to himself AND deal with that I'd die of glee. I just need this so badly in my life that I might forget how to breathe till I get it. And it would be awesome if at first Dean was all in denial about how he really feels about Cas and went on "we've gotta find a way to kill this thing". And then around 7x10/7x11 he'd have an epiphany and decided that his best friend is totally worht the effort of SAVING. ♥
Lol I might not like the outcome but I'm in love with the possible outcomes, hoping that they realize that they have a goldmine in that storyline. EXACTLY. That's what most people fail to see, the possibilities, plot-wise. And it maddens me to see people whining that "this destroyed Cas, where's TFW now, sadface". Srsly, what can you come up with that involves THE SAME TFW dynamic as in s5/partially s6 and doesn't get tagged as "boring and repetetive"? It's a scripted series, it needs stirring, it needs new conflicts, it needs to enter dangerous areas to remain fresh and appealing.
Plus, the possibilities for the evolution of this storyarc, they're ENDLESS.
