janie_tangerineSooo, today I saw 300. Which leads me to a few considerations about it.
In the end, I liked it. And Leonidas' thights..... XQ____ XD
1 Well. Wow. 300 quite-naked-men-showing-all-that-awesome-merchandise-off? Yummy XQ___________ seriously, hotness is hotness. Woooah.
2 Dilios -> the best ever. Right, I'm biased, I love David Wenham because he was my lovely Faramir, but nonetheless, he kicks ass. And I love when characters I like survive XD usually everyone I like dies. And what happens in the only movie where EVERYONE should die? He lives! So awesome, isn't it? XD
3 Just two minor things. I didn't go searching for historical accuracy because first, I know it's impossible to achieve and second geez, it was based on a comic so I'd just have to be grateful that it was more accurate than Troy could ever be, but... well i have to say that XD first, to whoever wrote the script: the division in months was invented by Romans. August doesn't exist in Greece XD and second, to Mr Miller as I imagine it was his idea... now, was there really the need of making Ephialtes like that? I mean, first of all I don't think that Spartans would have ever let a good warrior leave the city because of a deformed son, and second, what is the sense? To show that all traitors must be ugly or deformed in the body and all the good boys are perfect in and out? I don't know, this hasn't convinced me. Maybe it's because at school we do lots of greek history and some two years ago we spent a month on a part of Herodotus' Histories which was about the Termopili and his betrayal, but as I remember he was one of the army and hadn't any phisical problem whatsoever. Mh, it was probably the only thing that I didn't like all that much.
4 Astinos and Stelios are a couple. Period.
5 I read around that some people are disturbed because Persians seem 'gay' while Spartans aren't but insult Athenians because they are, it may seem racist and whatever... well, I loved this, because they got it exactly like Greeks thought. Try to translate tons of versions about persian barbarians and you'll agree with me XD Greeks were very nice people, but didn't like not-Greek people at all I guess XD so it's not racist or homophobic. It was like it had to be XD (also if I admit, I laughed when I saw the Immortals. I mean, they were just good warriors, not monsters, but anyway, it was a comic so let's skip XD)
6 Battle scenes ---> AWESOMENESS. Among the best I've ever seen. Yay for the arrows covering the sky XD
7 The queen stabbing the guy in front of the council was a winner XD
8 Now, when we studied Greek history in class there were the Spartan party and the Athenian party. I always guess I was more for the latter, also if in the end both failed me and I passed on the Theban side, for how much it lasted. But anyway, I was saying, the poor Athenians, who 'are philosophers and go with young boys' don't deserve to be dismissed as such. So, I demand something. I WANT A MOVIE ABOUT MARATHON DAMN XD 'Cause Athenians kicked ass too. Tsk. XD
