Neither do I, if you have to read it I read it but hell if I had that one I would have closed with him ages ago..
Well I think I definitely could ;) if you want some light stuff and if you didn't read anything by him you could check out anything by Nick Hornby (High Fidelity and A long way down above all), he's just brilliant ;), then if we want to talk about 18th century Victorian novels I loved 'Wuthering heights' (probably the only book by a woman that I really really liked), then on the apocalyptic side there's '1984' which is my favourite ever, I loved also 'Fahrenheit 451' and 'Lord of the flies', and to change completely the atmosphere I'd recommend everyone 'The three musketeers' which absolutely won't bore anyone ;)
Then another contemporary and living guy of which I'm thinking now that I remember that you speak Spanish and who I love is a Spanish writer, Javier Marìas, who is great IMHO, I didn't read it in Spanish because I'm nowhere near to understanding it right now but he's got a beautiful style and I found him stunning... my favorite of his I read was one that in Spanish should be 'Mañana en la batalla piensa en mí' and the other one I loved was 'Corazon tan blanco', he's really really good ;)
