Don't get me wrong, monster of the week episodes can be good, but I love plot. I prefer plot. I love long, overarching story lines and multipart episodes and things that don't make sense until you've seen the whole season. It's part of why I loved S4 and S5 (and even parts of S6) so much. Admittedly, the very end of "Swan Song" isn't my favourite, but it's still a decent episode. (Though I'll admit to liking the S4 and S6 finales better.)
I know what you mean about S7. They were trying to make the monster of the week-ers happy and have mytharcs, which didn't work out too well, but, yeah, whenever they had supporting cast it definitely got better. Mostly, though, I enjoyed it for the character development, which, while admittedly not ideal, was better than it could have been.
:D That would be great bb. I'd love to see Cas' take on LARPing. Especially if he shows up unannounced at a con they're already at and people think he's LARPing as himself, and so he has to ask why all these strangely dressed people know who he is.... And I'm not even sure that last sentence made sense at all.
