So Saturday I spent the whole day cleaning, throwing paper away and moving some furniture around here. Now the room looks way more decent but point is, while throwing away said paper, since I'm the multi-task person that I am, I managed to watch another three episodes of The Wire. So since I'm mid season, review! Pretty scattered stuff as usual. About up 2x07, more or less.

1. God S2 is totally awesome. I'm liking it so much! It just gets better and better. *sigh*

2. So they got the Tom Waits version of the song in the titles? Aawesome. Though I still believe that Earle does it better ;)

3. I think creepy Not-Oceanic won me over. At the beginning I felt so sad for him in that basement (and when McNulty went there -> awesomeness) but then he totally owned and I'm loving him right now.

4. Greggs is always awesome, even when she goes to strip clubs with her girlfriend. Bless her.

5. WTF fourteen dead girls? *shudders*

6. Bunk and Freamon teaming up? How made of awesome? How? How?

7. Okay, shoot me, I'm really liking Prez.

8. After episode 2x06 (I think it was 6?) or the following one, or well, when Herc tackles Carver onto the sofa, I'm sorry but I can't totally refrain from slashing those two like woah. Because come on. I mean. Odd couple INDEED. That scene where the transceiver thing got broken and that part before? Come on. They're made of uttermost win.

9. Bubbles!! He hasn't been around much to be honest and that's a pity but do I love him? Much? And his friend too? And when they found Omar on McNulty's behalf? Best thing ever.

10. Beadie wins. No woman is at Greggs' level but I love her, too. Yay good female characters, indeed.

11. WTF they killed the d'Angelo kid? I didn't expect that. Just when he was getting better.. *sigh* Also, I guess his mother wasn't that bad in the end. Though now I guess she's going to wish she let him testify. Poor guy.

12. The port people don't do much for me though. I mean, the union guy, Frank I think, has his interest character speaking, he's very interesting, but his son, nephew and co. are way less interesting or so it seems to me. Well, they're still interesting enough. And I want to know what's up with the fourteen girls, damnit.

13. Okay, I think Omar owns me to the end of time. How awesome is he? I mean. I mean. Let's go by points.

13a. When he made that deal with the two lesbian robbers he was just made of winning material.

13b. That part where his boyfriend was totally jealous?

Okay, apart from the fact that my inner slasher never minds man on man action, but I mean. The man is indeed noticeable, he totally has the accent effect on me and well, that scene melted me or something. By the way, his new boyfriend isn't that hard on the eye.

13c. When he went shopping for ties with McNulty I was cracking up like... I can't even remember. It was just so priceless. Can I go shopping with the both of you?

13d. And when he showed up with that tie at the process? How can you not love him?

13e. And then not only he lied in that oh so smooth way but he totally pwned that attorney that I totally would kill myself if I could. When he was there doing all of his blathering and then he's like 'you're just like me?' and shuts him up in a second? Massive, massive love. Also, what's with my ethics? I shouldn't pine for people that testify the false. But well, ends justify the means I guess. Really, where the heck are all my ethics going? Oh well.

13f. And he goes around with a shotgun robbing drug dealers and he has morals. God I think that if my other two favorites don't do anything awesome in a while he's going to get the first place and no one will throw him down.

13g. Please someone stop my brain. I hate it. I hate it. Because it wants me to write Omar/Sayid being a kickass assassin team. And I can't do this. I'm nowhere near good enough to write something like this. I can't. And crossovers are hard. I can't. Why does my brain hate me? And why would they be so damn sexy doing something like it anyway?

14. I love how almost everyone from the old S1 is under Creepy-Not-Oceanic who seems way more benevolent. Go him!

15. Sorry for being so shallow again but dear McNulty, please consider wearing a leather jacket more often because, m'dear, you know how to wear it. Really.

16. And since I have to do it.. /opens shallow corner/

McNulty doing patrol service? *eyes Rawls badly and shakes head* also, that uniform doesn't suit him, nor the hat. I demand that he stops doing patrol service. But... uuuhm. Episode 2 I think when he went drunk to the D.A. and... and.... uuuuhm, dearest, you have a great back. I think the room became sort of hot. Guuuush. Also, drunk!McNulty -> why do drunk people have the effect that they do on me? Yes Desmond Hume, I'm looking also at you. And if I was his wife I wouldn't mind, you know.. well. *cough* He was a total jerk to the poor D.A. though. I hope the vision of his heavenly back was enough of a consolation for her *sighs and shakes head at McNulty*.

/closes shallow corner/

17. God this really seems a totally squeeful and shallow entry but I swear I had also some intelligent things to say. I guess that it's because I don't take notes or stuff and then I don't remember the serious stuff I wanted to say.

18. To cut things short, it's fantastic. I love it. Can't wait to see how this season ends.

Okay, and now Kant again. *sigh*

Oh my do I love the Wire. I think season 2 and 4 were the best! Also, Omar is always made of awesome! Just think they originally wanted to kill him off in the first season.

I'm totally loving 2! I'm watching it for the first time though, but I've been told 4 is the best one and I can't wait to see it. And what? Killing him off in S1? That'd have been a dumb move. Indeed.

You touched on so many good points here. I love Omar's performance on the stand and how he wins over the jury. "It's all in the game!" That's one of the show's best scenes ever.

Greggs continues to rock and so does Beadie.

Have Herc and Carter had their batting/catching conversation yet?

Maybe your slashy Omar/Sayid story could revolve around a mutual project with Not Oceanic!

McNulty is pretty shallow himself so I think it is fitting to be shallow about him and his back in return!

If I remember, Bubs does not have a huge part in season 2 but it gets bigger in the other seasons.

Frank is definitely the most interesting of the dock people. Ziggy hurts my heart. The nephew who I call 'Not Ben Affleck' does nothing for me.

I'm glad you are watching this so we can discuss it but also because this means your exams are halfway done, right?

That scene probably is my favorite thing up to now. Do I love the guy? I soo do.

Have Herc and Carter had their batting/catching conversation yet?

Batting and catching... mmmh, I don't think so. I mean, up to now they just fussled about that transceiver thing that got eventually destroyed and glomped each other a couple of times but I can't recall it right now. If it doesn't turn up later means I missed it and I'll re-watch, no big deal.

Maybe your slashy Omar/Sayid story could revolve around a mutual project with Not Oceanic!

LOL well if we take that Not Oceanic is the same Not Oceanic... Well. I reserve myself the rights to writing it. Then doing it is a whole other matter but maybe when I'm through with S5 I'll have enough courage to write Omar.

McNulty is pretty shallow himself so I think it is fitting to be shallow about him and his back in return!

That's it. I mean, he is totally shallow, but he's pretty and I treat it like he deserves.

it gets bigger in the other seasons.

Oh, good. Well, I can totally wait for it and enjoy what they give me this round.

The nephew who I call 'Not Ben Affleck' does nothing for me.

LOL they're similar indeed! Agreed on that anyway. I prefer Ziggy to the NBA, too. He just leaves me completely indifferent.

Exams are halfway done but the last one isn't until July 15th *sigh* then I have one on the 24th this month, but next year I'll see to arrange them in order to be through in June. But I'm pretty on par with the studying of the ones I have left so I guess I can afford myself one episode in a while ;)

Trust me. You wouldn't have missed this conversation between Herc and Carter. It might be in season 3. I do love their Fuzzy Dunlop shenanigans.

I guess having your exams so spread out leaves you lots of time to study but it also drags out the school year for ever.

Mh, considering I had been watching out for it since you told me that they were having one, it probably wasn't there. Well, I'll eagerly wait for it!

The dragging out is a problem. I mean, as long as it's the winter term having a month of break (which would be January) and the spread exams is good, but in the summer it really isn't. But since you can decide when to give them (they give you three or four dates to choose from) to an extent, next year I hope to arrange them more close to each other, if upcoming university reforms don't mess with it.
