So, me and my mother are watching the TV, not prime time, seeing if they're saying something intelligent.

She's flipping channels and ends on one of the most important night talk shows here (pretty disgusting one but however). This is one politician, who actually is in the parliament:

See, some.. a lot of those laws that we VOTE FOR, mind it... well, it's not like we actually understand them, you know?

The problem is that he was serious. And the problem is that this is exactly what satirical actors usually make him say in parodies. If you're of the Italians on my FL and guess who he is you get a cookie. [livejournal.com profile] lasamy doesn't count since I told her already.

I think it speaks for itself. Yes, I'm still laughing like a madwoman over it because it's just sane.

I know very little Italian but I do know the aria "Non piangere, Liu" from Turandot! And, of course, "Ridi, Pagliacci." So I'm guessing that means "laughing until I'm crying"

I wish it was like that, I meant "I laugh in order not to cry" since the whole situation is so absurd/ridic/frustrating ;)

Lol, at least he does indeed! But I don't think he even realizes what he meant... oh well, it'll be fodder for one of my favorite comedians when he imitates him again. ;)

Oh dear, the worst thing is that I l know exactly how that feels. Actually here there is a satirical show that doesn't imitate or anything: they just show pieces from statements and so on with very little comment. Apparently, in this country politics and comedy are the same things.

Example: Statement of a man, leader of a party in my country and member of the parliament (which means that he and his party were voted by at least 3% of the population): "If there was no Germany, we wouldn't have known Nietzsche, we wouldn't have known Hitler..."

Most of the time you don't know whether you should laugh or cry...

O_O''' your guy does rival with ours indeed! Well here they're doing a sort of let's-see-fascism-in-a-new-light operation, except that they're governing, I wish they had 3% only *sigh*. But the one about Hitler was completely stupid (considering that Nietzche does NOT mean Hitler but that isn't the worst part) *sigh* what an idiot.

Apparently, in this country politics and comedy are the same things.

Here, too. It's what they did regarding that poor girl in vegetative state yesterday, they just put a sketch with all real states from politicians and it ended with someone saying there could only be silence and it ended there. The problem is that when they do the actual imitations they don't even exaggerate, that's how politicians are. *sigh* This round, I'm laughing. It's mental sanity.

Hee, there was a member of the government over here who said the same thing about a new law they're trying to pass acouple of days ago. I didn't know whether to laugh my ass off or bang my head against a wall. What I'll never understand is if they have absolutely no shame or are simply THAT stupid.

About this one, I'm pretty sure he is THAT stupid. I mean... if you had a look at his face you'd probably think the same exact thing. I don't know about the others but I'd be for both. At this point I'm really laughing my ass off because otherwise the other option is either leaving or doing harakiri. ;)
