[premise: the only thing getting seriously hurt was thankfully the other guy's car. Well, it was his fault, but still. Everyone got out of it without hurting themselves, at least.]

You know when you start the day and you get the feeling it's going to utterly suck? Well, that was today. Or at least, that's what I thought when I got into the post office and the machine giving numbers was broken, and it was just a long, huge line. Anyway, I was supposed to run some errands with my mom and so I called her after I was done working in the library, and I was like, 'do I get to your workplace?' and she, 'well, take the car so we can do this and that', and I was like 'do I really have to?', but then I realized she had a point so I was like fine, let's take the car.

Then before getting out of the house to go, I though that dammit, I really didn't feel like driving or using the car. Next time I'm taking the goddamn bus.

So, I'm calmly driving, doing the usual road, going like 20kms/hour which is basically as slow as you can without getting people to honk because you're going at snail speed, and I'm passing this perfectly green light. And then on the left, from the lane where buses should be the only vehicles allowed, and from which people CAN'T turn, suddenly comes this car at like one meter from me and going forward without a care in the world. I don't have the literal time to brake.

Moral of the story: I smash right into the passenger's side door and the fucking glass of the window explodes and falls out. And when I tried to move I couldn't because we were fucking -stuck-. And I was seriously convinced that someone must have gotten injured.

Which thankfully didn't happen even if I don't want to know how the driving-guy's wife felt when I hit her side of the car, but whatever. Now, it was totally his fault because he couldn't turn there and he was committing at least two/three other infractions, and it was good I got the passenger's door next to the driver or I'd have taken the back where the guy's thirteen-year-old-nephew was, but seriously, I got so scared that I was half hyperventilating. Also because it was my mother's car, not freaking mine. Anyway the driver pleaded guilty without me even asking which was good because a) he was, b) I wasn't in the mood for arguing about that, c) we didn't have to deal with the police, but then there came the half-fun part because I apparently was the only person able to fill in the form you should fill in case of accident. Or at least he claimed that he never did one and considering that he was about sixty/seventy and usually drove in the country I can believe he never did one, but point was that I never did either. Now that's one thing they should teach you in driving school, but whatever. In the end I got the whole thing straightened out, but now when I open my mom's car's door it.. er, creaks. Or something like that. And I don't know if that's fixable in one week, which is when we should be going to the grandmother's village, for which the car is kinda needed. I just hope it is, ew. Anyway, then I decided I was going to just do nothing for the rest of the day, kept my date with a friend to go to the movies and so the evening didn't suck as much as morning/afternoon, but still. If I ever got a scare in my life that was it. Also at least the guy didn't have a problem admitting that it was all him so we ended up being as friendly as you get in such an occasion (not to mention that his nephew looked fairly more excited than freaked, good for him because I'd have been VERY freaked), but still. For one who has two recurring nightmares, one of which is exactly hitting someone's car while driving and running into them, this totally wasn't funny.

In the end the only thing left seriously damaged was the guy's car. Seriously, I completely freaking smashed his door, not to mention the window exploding with glass and all. Not that I feel -too- sorry about it because if he has just turned LEFT where he could have moved on the cars lane instead of staying on the bus lane, instead of totally cutting in front of me, I'd have saved an hour and a half of my life and he'd have saved the car. Still. It doesn't exactly feel amazing. :/ I still don't know how his wife didn't get cut but hey, I guess that as long as we were all uninjured and since I couldn't do anything about it I'll just go to bed, not drive for the next week and make peace with it.

Though seriously. This one was enough already. I'll be glad if there isn't another anytime soon. Ew. And that said tomorrow I just want to deal with a) fandom and b) finding ways to get back from Patti Smith's concert without having to use a taxi. Ew again. And now I just hope this doesn't scare me off driving because it took me three years to decide I didn't totally hate it, now it'd be a problem if it happened. Ah well, next time I can do it I guess I'll just force myself to.

This ranted, I'll probably crash on the bed since it's 2 AM and I need to sleep this goddamn day off. *waves* *sigh*
