I'm tidying my room and I'm bored as hell, so.. let's have a meme! Leave me a fandom and I'll tell you:

The first character I fell in love with:
The character I never expected to love as much as I do now:
The character everyone else loves that I don't:
The character I love that everyone else hates:
The character I used to love but don't any longer:
The character I would shag anytime:
The character I'd want to be like:
The character I'd slap:
My five favorite characters:
My five least favorite characters:
My deep dark fandom secret:

Fandoms: Lost, Supernatural, Dark Tower, Deadwood, Chuck, A Song of Ice and Fire (books only, haven't seen the show yet; I read up until ADWD so just tell me if you don't want spoilers from there), Six Feet Under, Firefly, Vampire Diaries, Leverage, Sherlock, Sirens and if you know I watch/read it just go for it.

Butting in to say

I like that you don't like Cersei. I don't like her but everyone seems to!

Crying tears of blood~

I want to live where you live/have your friends/talk to the people you talk to/whatever. I've been in fandom a while and let me tell you, Cersei is THE most hated character. It is insane.

Favorite character, what's up.

Yeah, I'll shut up now.

Sorry! *hides* but for me it's not a question of not liking her because she's a bad person or whatever, it's just that in the books I loved two of her scenes and then I just couldn't see the appeal. I mean, I get why she'd be interesting (and other than said two scenes aka her talk with Ned in GOT and the one with Sansa in ACOK before the battle I loved THAT chapter), but for the rest I just could never find her POVs compelling enough. I don't HATE her (there's a long list of people I'd like to see gone before arriving where she is, really), but while (mostly) everyone else of the major POVs (meaning, I'm not talking about Victarion XD) seemed to jump out of the page for me she just didn't. :( But I don't get why you'd hate Cersei (or Catelyn) more than, idk, Gregor Clegane or Walder Frey or any of the Boltons or well, a bunch of people. That one I just don't get. (Then again whenever I read that Brienne POVs are annoying I want to weep because they're like my favorites, so XD)

But hey, we can fangirl the sand snakes together! ;)

Well, it's one thing if her characterization and construction and arc just don't speak to you (it's exactly the kind of character I go for, whereas characters like Robb or Davos, for example, do nothing for me), but I'll always fight against/take personal offense at comments like "she's a ~bad~ person so I hate her" (or "she's a bitch and The Bad Lannister and led poor poor Jaime astray and deserves to be raped and killed")—yes, she is not a good human being, thank you very much, fandom, I am aware, but I don't want to have tea with her and marry her, I just want her to be an interesting, complex character—and "she's a flat character" (she's not; her pov comes a little too late, I think, but she is NOT flat).

But yes, Sand Snakes stan for life!

... and LJ ate my comment. *facepalm* and let's go at it again.

It's totally a characterization thing - I don't give a damn that she's a bad person (and the thing about Jaime is just nonsense - heck, he threw kids off windows, I doubt it was because she led him astray...), it's just that it's the kind of character that is not usually my cup of tea and writing-wise her parts don't stand out to me as much as other people's. But then again it's the same thing re Davos and/or Brienne - I love their POVs insanely and a good number of people are like 'ugh BORING'. But from not really caring for her arc to say that she deserves more hate out of all the people in there is ridiculous.

Indeed! :D and heck, let's be Sansa stans too and have tea with lemoncakes! ;)

See, this I can accept.

And anyway, you get many many many bonus points for loving Sansa. My girl. Lady Lannister, heir to Winterfell. Bless. Tea and lemoncakes and Sansa stanning sounds like such a lovely way to spend the time.

Sansa is fierce. I don't know how people can NOT like Sansa, but if they don't, their loss. I'll be here stanning and waiting for her to fuck everyone over. I love her so hard. And she'll be munching on lemoncakes graciously all along. ;) *stans Sansa with you forever*

It's okay. Maybe you'll at least ~see her appeal~ when you've read the books.
