1. Hiiii. I should have known that going to Paris would have meant spending the four days after being back moping like I rarely moped, but it was totally worth it. I have pictures which will be posted sometimes after I'm done with the three exchange fics I'm wrapping up. But damn if it wasn't so worth it.

2. That said, everyone who wanted a postcard should have gotten one - I'm saying -should- because for weight-of-my-bag reasons I couldn't bring my laptop and clearly I brought my address book, but I had the genius idea of not putting inside it the piece of paper I had written with the names of the people who wanted one. *facepalm* I think I remembered right enough, but if you wanted one and end up not getting it.. sorry. I owe you another at some point.

3. That stated, last call for Christmas cards! They'll so totally be late, I know that already, but since I know I'll be able to go to my usual store in a couple of days, I'll leave this here again.

4. Also, I'm so behind on TV it isn't even funny, but at some point after I'm done with the fics referenced in 1, expect a long and ranty post about how gloriously mindfuckingly GOOD was the Boardwalk Empire finale, all of this spiced with a good deal of virtual tears. If anyone wants to discuss in comments after a spoiler warning, I WANT TO DISCUSS IT.

5. I have two memes to do, but one would end up being too long since it implies that I rant about things I like. Therefore, I'm doing the second one for now, the first will happen later.

Reply to this entry and I will give you five prompts. Think of a song that fits each prompt, post the five songs to your journal, and explain your choices. Give prompts to the people who reply to you.

Mine were:

1. power trip
2. romantic evening
3. soundtrack to a fic
4. music to do homework to
5. bouncy

power trip - The End, The Doors

Don't ask me why I associate this song with HUGE power trips. I think it's a mix of a) lyrics, b) the fact that it was at the beginning of Apocalypse Now aka a movie full of Uber Power Trips, c) the fact that at the last part when he goes all Oedypus on us dear Jim sounds like he's on a power trip. Whatever. This song = endless awesome.

romantic evening - Tougher Than The Rest, Bruce Springsteen

Oh this song. Future boyfriend of mine, if you're reading this, that's exactly what you should play to me if you get the chance. Okay, in all seriousness, I just - I love how the feelings in this are just so damn genuine even if both guy and girl don't have a good experience background. It doesn't sound like the OMG ILU SO MUCH song, but just - if I had this playing on a date I'd be happy. (and if someone ever told me - meaning it - something along the lines of the first line in the bridge after the second refrain I probably wouldn't look at anyone else twice.)

soundtrack to a fic - Play It All Night Long, Warren Zevon

All right, this is cheating 100% since it was the main song in a soundtrack for a fic I wrote (I used it for a title) and not someone else's, but considering that it was the one time I actually built half of a fic on a soundtrack -and- that it took me about two months to put it together that's just where my head goes. Also while this song is strictly not Dean/Cas at all it -did- fit at least Dean in that fic, and fannish things aside, it's been one of my favorites for ages by now. Also: Warren Zevon NEEDS pimping as a general rule since he's underrated so here.

homework - Così fan tutte (usually as a whole, I'll just take a representative part for the link), W. A. Mozart

Or, I'm in the group thinking that Mozart was the best thing ever happened to classical music and I love his operas like a few things, but for that specific prompt I'm putting in this one because for some reason I find it incredibly relaxing. Most of the others give me distracting feelings of the I-can't-concentrate kind but with this one I just check out enough for studying. And it makes an excellent background. And it's gorgeous. (I think it's my objective Mozart favorite - meaning that technically imo it's more flawless than anything else, but not-technically I have two other favorites before it. Or well, one at least. With the other, it switches.) Sadly there's no video of my Favorite Version Ever of this opera (or well, the one with my Favorite Singer Ever) so I just went with the opening. Not my fault that every other tenor I hear on youtube sounds inadequate to my spoiled ears..

bouncy - Start a Band, Brad Paisley & Keith Urban *hides*

So, basically, this song is... kind of ridiculous. In the good way. I mean, it's no masterpiece (not even a country one for that matter), the lyrics are what they are and it's KEITH URBAN TOO FFS, but point its, it never fails to brighten my mood for some reason. I mean, it's just so upbeat and you just go along with it. I don't even know why I like it as much as I do. I mean, it's good easy listening. And whatever, cheesy country is my guilty pleasure, I was bound to like it...

6. Aaand that one is done. I'll now go crash. Maybe since it's before 2 AM I might succeed in not oversleeping. I'll be back with that other meme and Paris pictures as soon as I'm done with all the writing I need to be done with.

Glad to hear you got it! I'm seriously amazed that they got there so fast. Obviously the Italian postal service spoiled me in the bad way.
