Ok, I've got the worst cold EVER and yesterday I was completely spent but it was worth it. Under the cut you shall find a nice post about my Russian experiences, with pics et all, english & italian at your service. And later I'm doing what my socia tagged me for but I'll do separate posts, please XD
26/8/07
Leaving: 5.00 in the morning. Yeah, we had to catch a flight to Milan first and then change there. First problem: the guy at the phone had said to go from internetional flights but we had to go through nationals. I could have slept at least an hour more but whatever, we had a nice hour-something staying in Milan where I bought Classic Rock and as usual didn't manage to do their crossword (it's shit difficult °_°) and after three hours of flight and two hours more of time zones, we get there. We find the taxi and he puts on some music.
Eros Ramazzotti. Right, I go to Russia to listen to Eros Ramazzotti. Problem is, after that there was local music. I'll tell you, you don't wanna hear Russian pop music. It's like... if I said disgusting it wouldn't be as much XD something that made backstreet boys look like the rolling stones. Kinda. Anyway, we arrive at the hotel and set off for the metro. And here the first problems start because there isn't ONE English writing and the damn cirillic is, just, terrible. But we manage to take the metro, at least, and go to the center, where we search for a place to eat. And we find one where the waiter speaks Italian, kind of. Right, no one speaks English but Italian yeah, alright... XD
But, last problem of the day, you can't drink tap water there because it's polluted and there's some bacteria that brings you intestinal problems, so you have to wash your teeth with mineral water. Except, the mineral water they sell there isn't still, they put something in it to make it sparkling and it's, like, disgusting. But whatever, first day gone and you shall see some pics XD

(Canal on the Nevskj Prospekt XD)

(LOOOOOOOOOVER, SARAAAAAAAAAAA XD) That place is Pepsiland, BTW. Everyone drinks Pepsi. No Coke XD

Another canal near the Nevskj where I think we went to eat XD
27/8/07
Most notable thing of the day: in my hotel there's a family which has one 17-something year old son that is, like, Ian Somerhalder at 17. Same eyes colour, same longish dark hair. You know what, XQ______________ XD Anyway, we went to visit the fortress of St Peter and Paul, which was a very interesting place, and where I took some nice pics where I even tried to be artistic. And we realized that no one in Russia speaks English which isn't the first ten numbers.

Graves of the Romanoff family XD

River Neva from the fortress.

Fortress entrance.

Local orchestra outside the church that played Italian folk songs for an italian group of tourists there.
XDDD

Me artistic mode on.

First Hermitage day. I tell you, it's WONDERFUL, but tires the HELL outta you. My feet were just screaming, after. But totally worth it (Leonardo, Rembrandt, Caravaggio, Van Gogh, Monet, like, EVERYONE *___________*). It basically took a whole day, so the other only great thing of the day was a guy with a Fender playing Since I've been loving you on the Nevskj prospekt. Something GREAT XD
Primo giorno all'Ermitage.

This was someplace inside the Hermitage I think... or anyway I'm posting it here because I don't want to forget it XD

Winter Palace place XD
29/8/07
Second Hermitage day, then we went to a restaurant which was like a medieval place but most important thing, I found a record shop which was THE GREATEST EVER. Tons of used cds, everything not more than 6 euros each and BOOTLEG DVDS XQ__ I went there like four times after the first and I got myself four Beatles records, Free, Bad Company, Robert Plant and some presents that I can't say now, then dvds by Queen, VR, Zeppelin, the Woodstock 69 director's cut and I can't even remember now XD in the evening, we took a bus and the driver was kinda CRAZY all the way, ran like a crazy man, spoke at the cellphone and had the change marches thing half broken. But they're all like that XD

Nevskj againXD
30/8/07
Today, some things. First of all, Alexander Nevskj monastery. Very nice place, full of Orthodox monks. (DESSSSMOOOOND! XD) and the cemetery in there. Which has graves of Dostojevskj, Chaikovskj and some other people which I'll kind of show you after. Then Dostojevskj's house museum, where I saw some priceless thing. In a room we have this 80 year old granny which works there as a custiodian or something like it which is doing a crossword. Which has in the middle three pics. Ian Somerhalder, Maggie Grace and Dominic Monaghan in the Lost first series promo pics. I was bursting out laughing. I think it's the proof that capitalism has reached Russia too XD I saw the Somerhalder guy again at the hotel (XQ____) and the palace of a lover of Catherine II, a guy named Orloff which had a veeery very nice house. All pink and sky blue XD
Oggi, interessante giornata.

Orloff's country mansion XD

The monks' garden.

The monks' cells XD

Dostojevskj (sorry, I couldn't turn them.... I can't even try to begin XD)

31/8/07
Today, FUN. I mean, no, but. We went to a place 30 kms far that was the residence of Peter the Great, perverted and lovely Romanoff zar, but we went in one of these.

You can't imagine. They are noisy, they go on some kind of very polluting fuel, the door was broken and Russian pop music at its worst at a very loud volume. three quarters of an hour of HELL XD
Anyway, the place is very Versailles like. i'll make you see XD but damn. Fountains, TOO MANY. then we went back to the city where we stumbled into three or four weddings and some interesting spectacle...

And this is the MARLY palace.... XD SORELLLAAAAA XD

Russian wedding limousine. it has fourteen places and five doors.

And this is the spectacle. Fountains that poured water along with a valzer XD

1/09/07
Today we witnessed some girl running screaming like a madwoman after her boyfriend left her, I guess at least, went to a monument to the people who died during WWII when the Nazis were trying to conquer the city and saw the only true Ministery of Love (for whoever read 1984 XD)

Lenin's statue in front of the Ministery of Love...

Which in truth was only the place where the local communist corporation or whatever held meetings, but come on, IT'S THE MINSTERY OF LOVE XD
2/9/07
And finally, today, VLADIMIR NABOKOV'S HOUSE XDDD I wanted to go there so badly (Lolita? any moment XD) ** then I went to the cd place and made a raid and then it happened.
After a week of the most hideous music EVER, we went to eat in a cafè and they had a radio which passed the usual stuff. Then I hear a bass. Then a guitar. Not synthetic. Real bass and guitar. Then I heard Anthony Kiedis, I realized that they were passing Desecration smile and FUCK AT LEAST A GOOD SONG XD I swear i never loved the Chili Peppers more XD
Siamo a pranzo.

Me in front of the place. And this is the only me you're going to see here, I don't want to hurt your eyes too much XD
3 and 4/9/07
I'm doing these in one because it rained all the time, I caught my cold and I really don't remember much XD we went to see some churches and things like these, Puskin's house, another museum (for Russian things only) and fought at the postal office because clearly no one spoke English and you can't go buying stamps talking in gestures, also if we managed it in the end... And about that, I sent postcards. Only, the stamp was attached with some poor quality glue, so I'm sorry if they don't arrive, but I sent them T-T the return trip was hell because I had the damn cold and you don't want to take a plane with a cold... the pressure was killing >< then they lost one baggage at the return but there wasn't anything important in it and in the end I was completely drained but it was worth it **
And to end in glory.... this bar was at the airport XD

I'm over. PHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEW.
