1 Bruce Springsteen is his favourite singer since before pulling his first con and his favourite song ever is 'Born to run', but he's fond of 'Badlands' too. He never got to see him live though. [yeah, I just went ahead and planned it all like that. XD]
2 We know from canon that he has a lovely singing voice (Redemption song anyone..? XD) but I think he's also good on guitar, but music is something he never got to think about seriously because it isn't good enough to make money on the short run and he never could afford it before he became a con man and stopped thinking about it after.
3 In his stash he has some notebooks in which he writes stories or a novel when he isn't reading/chopping wood/fighting with the others/angsting because Kate is a bitch; he wanted to be a writer since forever but of course he couldn't, so on the island he's trying to do at least this.
4 He's a disaster in maths (like me XD) and he's kind of pissed about it because he thinks he could just get that if only someone took a chance, sat down and explained it to him.
1 In med school days he was a die-hard grunge fan; he actually also attended some Nirvana concerts (withouth his lovely father knowing, of course) and he actually listens to Nirvana only on the day of Kurt Cobain's dead (well this was also canon but whatever XD).
2 He likes the b/w movies from the world war II era (Casablanca and so on), also if he hasn't watched a movie in a theater since forever.
3 Considering his job he doesn't do it often but I think he likes cooking and it's absolutely not bad at it, though he doesn't have much time to improve his skills ;)
Oh well I can definitely do both, I so love those two..
Danielle:
1 At one point in her life she has studied/someone has taught her engineering or mechanicals or something like that seeing how she builds her traps (maybe they aren't that complex but you have to know something about it to set up that much and have all of them working, I know I wouldn't even understand where to start from..)
2 Back when she wasn't on the island she loved reading, expecially classics from the 19th century.
3 Sayid is always the one that she prefers out of all the castaways, followed by Jack. She also respects Locke quite a lot, methinks.

1 Seeing her 'father's' literary preferences, she hates Stephen King something fierce.
2 Mikahil has taught her some Russian and how to play chess.
