1. For everyone who was in and my reference and stuff, I posted the writing in a second language discussion at [livejournal.com profile] thequillstation. I thought it came out pretty neat in the end.

2. Okay, switching from grunge to Keith Urban's new album is a total shock but... aaawww. I mean, it won't be the most influential record of the year but no one does the I-need-a-dentist love song like he does. Aw. ♥ *basks in guilty pleasure*

3. Of course when I was in the bookshop, last day, I forgot to mention that in the vampire section which right now takes a whole wall there were all the Vampire Diaries. I cracked up.

4. Oh God. I don't usually do SPN fandom related posts but... I've been reading the stuff from cons and I think I'm madly in love with Misha Collins. I am. I so am. And he wants to check slash fanfiction. Where the hell did they find such an awesome guy?

Also, if the J2 don't get married with Canadian laws before that show is over, I'll be seriously disappointed. If they aren't already.

5. I think tomorrow evening I will start spamming with the ficlets and stuff I need to re-post from various places. Blah. But I won't function to do much else, I fear. I should also post icons. Should being the key word.

6. I finished Watchmen. Yes, I spent a whole day on it yesterday.

So, I thought that overall the novel was seriously impressive and definitely better than the movie except for the finale. I get that they couldn't have the whole Under The Hood/Tales of the Black Freighter or I think it was the name in the movie or either it'd have ended up five hours long, but those were such great parts of the novel. I really appreciated the whole parallelism there. Then again, I had seen the movie before so I knew what was going to happen, but I think that Manhattan was kind of better developed in the graphic novel. The most interesting character IMHO remains Rorschach, even if we'd politically be very nasty towards each other if I met such a guy in reality. But I'd probably run, if I did. Also, don't throw rotten tomatoes on me because I think I might be going against the general opinion but Laurie in the movie > Laurie in the book. In the movie I kind of liked her alright, but in the book she came off way more self-centered and basically not interesting enough. I think that the finale change in the movie was done for the best though, while the squid worked in the novel on screen it really wouldn't have. And sincerely I'd rather have everyone witnessing Rorschach's death than only Manhattan. That said, it made me appreciate how careful they did things with the movie but the novel is way more complex and I probably will have to re-read it sometime because I'm sure I missed stuff around. Anyway, I really enjoyed it. I'm in no frame of mind to do any more intelligent reading of it though, even if it'd probably deserve it. Maybe for when I read it again.

7. I'm also three quarters into Orwell part one. *sighs* What a pleasure. I need to re-read 1984 one of these days, too.

8. Okay, that'd be all for the moment. *waves*
