1. I (finally) got called for the university library job, ee! This month I'll be doing just two shifts for training and then I'm properly starting next month, but I went on the 8th for the first and it was fun! Even if tiring. Well, tiring mostly because I was doing the whole new-person-who-gets-enslaved thing because while I was doing that with another two girls, they switched turns to go downstairs and grab books while I went with them everytime you had to go down and well, three hours walking and doing stairs in a idk-how-fucking-big-it-is basement carrying books is tiring, lol. Apart from that you just need to give out places to people and actually remember which numbers are center, right and left, but I guess it's stuff you memorize/practice/whatever. And I get to handle books which is always good. And the girls I've been paired with for the training were really nice so yay for that too? Now I just need my real timetable. Which will probably cover July/first week of August but eh, apart from the Lost GFG in Edinburgh which is a weekend and for which I really need to check low-price planes I didn't have anything planned, so.
2. Also, Patti Smith is coming on the 28th! Which means I probably get to see her for the third time. <3 Because I'm totally there and I'm still bitter over missing her last year because of exams, ee. Concerts speaking, I'll try to hit Crosby, Stills & Nash even if I'm more familiar with the stuff they did with Neil Young but hey, it's still CS&N. Also, I found out that new Guns n' Roses are coming in like September. I'm, uh, 99% not attending because I'm probably one of the three people in the world who listens to GNR because she liked Velvet Revolver first and of the original five Axl is the one I care for less, I didn't like Chinese Democracy and I don't like the new group and I don't have 60 euros to spend on them. Still, lol. Of everyone in ex GNR that comes to Rome, it's the only one I don't really care about? Also, Stone Temple Pilots are in Milan on June 28th and I can't attend because a) I have an exam and b) the trip would kill my finances. ;______; Now, THEY could have come instead, but... yeah, well, STP were much higher in my list but whatever, I'll catch them next time. And that said, whywhywhy did Pearl Jam and Aerosmith need to go to the goddamn Heineken Jammin' Festival in VENICE?!! Or near there, anyway. It's TOO GODDAMN FAR and too pricey and still, exams. Daamn. I'll see to attend some more stuff in the fall because I won't have classes and my concert attendance this year has been pitiful, on the non-classical side.
3. Okay, so, today was sort of a feast of laughter.
My next exam is Modern History, and apart from the regular textbook, we have one that deals with witch hunting in Europe. Which is way, way funnier than most stuff I usually do. It's all gore, blood, sex, supernatural, references to the Malleus Maleficarum and it discusses Lucifer's sexuality. Yep.
So, apart from actually describing what was described in some treatises (like, how actually devils and humans have sex during witch feasts and stuff), at one point it started quoting from a bunch of scholastic commenters which all agreed on Lucifer/the Devil being an awful lay because, in their exact words, he's cold. In the sense you're thinking. Granted, it was his real body and not in possessed bodies, but is that bad that every time it came up I was snorting and being like 'SPN fanfiction got it all wrong' and 'poor Marksha got a really shitty role if he can't even be a good lay'? I just, lol. Then it started mentioning shtrigas and succubi and that's when I decided that if I don't remember shit I'll just channel SPN, but the best is to come.
So my dad and I were having lunch and the conversation goes like this:
Him: did you learn anything new today?
Me: not really. Well, except that the devil is a lousy lay.
Him: aha, and who said that?
Me: my textbook, why?
Him: you should read the Malleus Maleficarum instead.
Me: yeah, sure, I don't have time for that and anyway what, you have that?
Him: of course I do, don't underestimate me.
Me: YOU ACTUALLY BOUGHT THE MALLEUS MALEFICARUM? I HOPE IT'S NOT SOME CLASSY EDITION.
Him: Nah, I found it in a sort of huge paperback but I own that, WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK I AM? And why are you laughing so much?
Me: errrr *snorts like crazy and tries not to go like you know, it was the title of a SPN episode among all the rest* it's a long story, but you mean you actually could lend it over?
Well, he did have it. Now it's on my desk. If I manage to read some of it in study breaks, which I doubt because I'M BEHIIIND, I'm sure I'll have a lot of fun snorting over it. But seriously, whut. My father owns the Malleus Maleficarum and he doesn't even freaking need that for job stuff. WTFFF. And then everyone will comment and me and tell me that it's perfectly normal to own it, but... just, idk, I find the whole thing more fun than it probably is but still, laugh-worthy much?
4. And since I write during studying pauses, I actually managed to do some decent progress with my
hope_in_sight fic which I'm physically aching to finish because I was supposed to post it MONTHS ago. As it is, it's 11500 words out of probably 25000 because I had plot woes and I solved them by fucking with SPN canon and re-using stuff they had in the last part of the season in a way that is freaky, but it's coming along and I should be done within the month. Whyyy do I end up plotting uber-long stuff anytime I try to crossover SPN and Good Omens? Anyway. I also have 6000 words of the
help_chile one which is also on my list to finish within the month (hopefully). And well, I haven't started on the
deancasbigbang one still, but I'm finishing the Wings Of Desire one, I'm signed for the 10000 words minimum challenge and I'm at like 9200 now. So I can allow myself to stall it for another while I think. XD Not to count that I signed for two exchanges which thankfully gave me easy prompts. And I'm not done with exams until the 12th and probably the 20th considering that I still have pedagogy hanging over my head, which means that I'll spend the last half of July writing fic or something. And that meanwhile I keep getting weird ideas for Dean/Castiel AUs that should really be left unwritten. And five/six things I have unfinished which I really should finish.
5. Meme I've seen everywhere and it's always fun. :)
Give me a character from any fandom, tv show, movie, book you know that I know and I will tell you:
a. My favorite thing about that character.
b. My least favorite thing about that character.
c. One person I would ship them with in their own verse.
d. One crossover ship for them I think would be neat.
e. One crossover universe for them I think would be even neater.
f. Their ship from hell.
g. Their song.
h. The title of their biography or autobiography.
i. The last bad dream they had.
j. How they're gonna shuffle off the mortal coil, if they haven't already.
6. My PM's latest: 'Ruling this country according to the Constitution is hellish.'
I'm not even commenting on that. It speaks for itself.
7. Changing subject abruptly, I'm extremely excited for Stohenenge Apocalypse. I mean, it's Misha and it'll be the awesome kind of bad, and I have a date with
pnr to watch it on the 15th after my exam, which will make it even more awesome. What worries me is that from the stills some of the plot looks very similar to the scepter of Moses movie, which will probably just double the fun, but still.
8. Scepter of Moses related, sorta: His Prettiness being gorgeous is always good stuff. Guh. Ah, Ian, way to make me miss the vamp porn. <3
9. This entry is becoming NC17 rated and tomorrow I need to go to uni in the morning to finally get a piece of paper stating that I know English (!!) and getting myself ten credits so I'll probably go crash on the bed. Also because I need to finish the witches textbook. Well, at least it's not boring. *waves* <3
