I'm back!

And finally I'm here! Ok, I think I've checked all the FL and it took me, like, one hour or something and so now I can make some brief recap.

- General: meh. I love my family, really, but every time I go there I start to feel depressed. Someone could please tell my gran to learn to enjoy life or something?
- Worse: uhm, please, do NOT teach children Christmas songs. Especially when they can't carry a tune. See my five-year-old cousin, which is adorable but should really be forbidden to sing religious/christmas stuff.
- Best Fangirl moment: catching a rerun of Judging Amy on the satellite (which I sadly don't have) and finding out Adrian Pasdar was in, thus being able to fangirl properly. Because I had already seen that, but before I started watching Heroes and it didn't click. And you know, that character was a lawyer who had the S1 Petrelli suits/ties and the S2 crazy hair. Another reason to re-evaluate that show.
- Funniest thing: turning upside down a record shop searching for the Kansas Greatest Hits and finding out that a friend of my uncle, who is a crazy Springsteen fanatic, owned it.
- Presents side: I love my other uncle. He got me the Clint Eastwood Iwo Jima movies. Oh, I love him.
- Saddest moment: When I was desperate enough to slash the Kevin Costner movie about Robin Hood which was on the tv. That's why I never watch TV. Ehm.
- Reading side (maybe sad thing too): can one spend the Christmas eve night in a room with at least eight people and being able to go and read Stephen King's The Mist? Well, here I am. And hey, genetically-atomic-modified-by-the-army fog in which you find dinosaurs and stuff? Uncle Steve, you really had some crazy ideas.
- Lost references: when I watched a quiz on the TV which is one of the few decent programs we have here, where some high school classes have to answer books/literature questions and win books. Every time they have a different book and the first day I arrive, they're playing with Through the Looking Glass. Hem.
- Most Embarassing moment: waiting for my mother at the station (she had to go to a place near for work and I went to get her there), except that the train was late and out of total boredom I bought Men's Health only because it had a wet!Foxy on the cover. The article inside was 100% stupidity, but, but. There were very lovely pictures and I found out that he's a nudist. Uhm. Interesting.

LJ side:

- I think before leaving I made at least three new friends, so welcome all of you!
- [profile] elliotsmelliot  has written me the most wonderful fic ever. With Boone, Sawyer, Shannon and Watership Down. *worships* It's here and I love it to pieces.
- I'll try to comment on your older stuff but 90% I missed something.
- Hope everyone had a great Christmas!

*goes to check what she missed*

ohhhhhh hey there new friend! ;P

XDD

Welcome home! I think your gran is my aunt. I second you on the Christmas carol thing. Two of my nephews keep humming the opening bars to Blue Christmas over and over again and thinking it was the funniest thing in the world. Nothing says Christmas more than genetically modified anything produced by Uncle Steve. Though maybe The Shining would have been more seasonal.

My Christmas had two Lost references, one direct and one indirect. My husband surprised me with the Lost magazine in my stocking, which I never knew existed despite it featuring *blue shirt* Desmond, who husband referred to as "my boyfriend". (I guess it has been hard to keep the squee quiet while re-watching season 3.) Second reference was playing the board game Apples to Apples where you have a hand of 7 cards with pronouns written on it and have to match one that most closely relates each round to a chosen adjective. In my hand I had "freckles" and "plane clash" and thought this would be a whole different game playing with the LJ crowd!

Thank you! Yeah, Christmas carols should be forbidden. Or at least properly taught. And maybe they should properly teach two or three different tunes ;)

Uncle Steve genetically modified stuff really saves the day, though I'd prefer Darlton to let him have it. Now we'll discover that Smokey is an OGM too. *ponders*

How lovely of him! Well, not squeeing when you have such gorgeous blue-shirtness in front of you is damn hard. (and that's how I call George Clooney in regards of my mother, I mean the boyfriend thing ;) )

And that was cool and scary at the same time. Playing that game with the LJ crowd would be the most awesome thing ever though! And I think that people there are still wondering why I was cracking up on that quiz...

Children singing carols - argh! That's the real reason for midnight mass - the kiddies are mostly in bed, asleep, and not torturing the congregation. And family reunions do tend to be a mixed bag, don't they?

Hey, I would have bought Men's Health at the train station. Foxy is a nudist, huh? Interesting... one of the very few anyone would ever want to see naked, too. Someone should look into this.

I've been doing some end-of-year LJ maintenance and realized I never got around to doing a proper, updated ship-name post with your lovely icons. Could I do that at this point? I'll save the icons to my computer and upload them to my own (less-used) Photobucket account so that you don't go over bandwidth, if you'd like.

Yeah. That's exactly the thing. I mean, until they sing cartoon songs one can go with it, but carols. I don't even like them when they're sung properly, but the same carol repeated over and over... *shivers*

Yeah he said that when he was young he used to go around naked in the Wisconsin woods or something since no one actually cared and he loves nudism and going around without clothes. Which is most definitely an interesting thing. Though the rest of the article which consisted on a university professor and a 'lostologist' speculating about Jack and leadership issues was plain hilarious. But he said also that he thinks that monogamy is not a natural condition for the human race and that so he finds it rewarding to stay faithful to one woman. We can hope..?

Oh sure you can! I haven't got much bandwidth problems so you can also link mine, but if you prefer to use your space that's fine too ;) and if you find other ship names and stuff to add just tell me, I'd be too happy to comply!

Seems like overall it wasn't a bad vacation.
And Adrian Pasdar makes everything better.

By the way, I got your gift and card and it was lovely!!! Thank you so much. I really like it.
Did you get mine? I hope so. I know overseas post takes a while but hopefully it got there.

Oh good, I'm so glad you liked it! Yours still didn't arrive but Christmas was on Tuesday and the following day is festive too, so I guess stuff's delayed =_=

And Adrian makes stuff better too, really *squees*

This makes me worried and sad that you haven't gotten it yet.
Hopefully it comes soon.

Your holiday doesn't sound too bad, though the caroling is regrettable. And I guess if your grandmother hasn't learned to enjoy life by now, she's probably not going to.

Back in S1 there was a lot about Foxy's skinny-dipping obsession as he apparently got a number of the cast to join in. But no more, sadly.

Overall it wasn't. And you're absolutely right, she never did and never will, but the main problem is that since she doesn't, she thinks no one should, and the thing that irks me is that she's got absolutely no reason not to, except she doesn't want to hear it. Oh well.

Argh. I can only say good times, really good times. Foxy, why don't you resume good habits..?
