Oh, fun! And… hard.

1. Wtf is this huge thing? Is that Steven in the left hand corner? Is it something like I dunno, Live Aid or like, Springsteen and Friends? Is hat Bruc ein the middle not looking like Bruce at all? XD

2. Dunno. Looks like a soul dude.

3. Blues Brothers

4. DEMONS. Srsly, they look so evil. Cash and Dylan obv.

5. Bob Marley

6. hum… Bon Jovi and some ladies?

7. I DON'T KNOW WHO THIS FABULOUS MAN IS. PLEASE ENLIGHTEN ME. (also I figured out We Are Alive… darling, did you listen to Johnny Cash a lot while making this album?)

8. No idea, honestly. Looks like he would make a wonderful dragqueen though.

9. U2

10. WHAT IS GOING ON?

11. Looks creepy. Dunno who it is. Composer? I have no clue.

12. Ah Waitsy Waits… haven't listened to you in a while.

13. Dunno.

14. I don't recognize them but that might be Steve Tyler looking weird in nice tights, so guessing Aerosmith (I don't know how the other members look so yeah)

15. dunno

16. dunno but the guy to the right looks like Swedish artist E-Type with that hair hahahaha.

17. No idea but that's quite a beautiful shot,

18. Queen looking like queens xD

19. No idea… he looks like he could've composed some cool scores or something.

20. *shrug*

21. You listen to a lot of bands with big hair

22. That's a cool beard

23. The guy to the far right reminds me of the werewolf in the US version of Being Human

24. Oh hello sir! Some classic composer I assume. Looking a bit like Stephen Fry.

25. I don't know but I am guessing Pete Seeger for some reasons… he's old and politically active and feels like you could listen to? XD

1. Yep, it's Little Steven in the left corner. Go look up on Wikipedia what LS was up to in 1985 ;) it's not Live Aid but you're close-ish. And yeah there's Bruce in there somewhere.

2. Lol close-ish.

3/4/5. correct! (And LOL THEY SO LOOK LIKE DEMONS)

6. Half right! Well, BJ is right but the ladies are actually a group so..

7. HAHAHAHAHAH WELL I'M SURE YOU'LL NEED A LOT OF ENLIGHTMENT (and I know? I think he was a lot into Cash & folk stuff lately)

8. ... my only comment is LOL. Also look at picture 6 >___>

9. Correct!

10. HAHAHAHAHHA WELL THEY'RE MY FAVORITES. and Italian, which is why no one is gonna get them, BUT. XD

11. Yep, composer. Can't give hints because then it'd be too easy.

aaah 17 <333 ;) and yeah that's a lovely shot indeed!

18. correct!

19. ... well, YES. XD

21. ... HEY, THEY STARTED IT! >__________> EVERYONE ELSE WITH THE BIG HAIR IS JUST A POSER

24. yep classic composer. who's Italian but yeah he does look a bit like SF.. XD

25. CORRECT! <333 I want to be like him when I'm his age. CAN I BE LIKE HIM WHEN I'M HIS AGE?

Now I'm gonna google hah! (But not goggle the pictures cause ethat would be proper cheating)

1. Wikipedia makes me think this is Artists United Against Apartheid

2. Still dunno and wouldn't know what to google anyway.

6. BJ aaand Sugarland?

7. I'm gonna guess this is Elvis. Caus eye's famous right?

8. AHA! He's errr… in the band. Let's see… Richie Sambora!

10. google isn't helping me DAMNIT

11. Oh so that's what Danny Elfman looks like! I don't like him that much.

17… it feels like I should think of a name (with all those hearts) but it stands still. It's like the name is just out of reach… arch!

19. HAH! I should've guessed Morricone like, right away. First name I googled for that one.

6. Correct!

7. LOLZ TOTALLY

8. Heeee yes! Oh Richie, your manliness is forever ruined for me.

10. Well other than Italian and totally insane, they're technically the best band we have around. But idk how famous they ever were outside Italy, they don't do the kind of Italian music that has a chance of selling outside the country..

11. Lol correct!

17. HE'S ONE OF THE STAPLES OF MY FANGIRLING LIFE ;)

19. Correct again XD ;)

16 is correct! Re 15 nope, Italian guy ;) 24... you're close! The last three letters of the name are right and he's an opera composer too, but he was from the previous generation.

Yay! Now, if it were Verdi, I would know right away! Did you ever see "Moonstruck?" The grandfather looks just like him (down to the scarf), a friend of mine pointed out.

ETA: And good grief, #20 is Smashing Pumpkins! The blond, curly hair on Billy threw me at first.

Moonstruck is the one with Cher and Nicholas Cage, right? I think I did but it was years ago, now I think I'll go have a look at it again asap because I really need to see the grandfather! And I had Verdi too in the list but alas he didn't show up...

And correct! :D I'll admit that I chose that one because I figured that the curly blonde hair would have made it harder... ;)

Here's a pic of the grandfather, although without the scarf that makes him look so much like Verdi. And one more. I LOVE that movie! So much fun. And I dream of finding a straight man who will beg me to go to the opera with him. Like that'll ever happen!

And here's the trailer. Nic Cage has a Verdi portrait in his apartment, LOL!

OMG he DOES look like Verdi! And mmmh okay I need to re-watch this asap.

I dream of finding a straight man who will beg me to go to the opera with him. Like that'll ever happen!

You and me both, you and me both..... where are all the cute straight guys who like opera? Where?

Is 2. Sam Cooke? And maybe 13. is Warren Zevon?

Some others are familiar but I cannot quite bring them to mind.

Date: 2012-02-23 05:56 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] janie-tangerine.livejournal.com
2: close but no! For a hint, he wrote a song that got covered by pretty much the entire world. But 13 is indeed Zevon! *high five*

Dammit, I'm way too late to get most of these (and I would totally have got A.U.A.A. straight off the bat - Sun City is my favourite charity record Of All Time! *grin*). But I'll take a guess at a couple of the unguessed ones...

Umm...

2 - is it a very young Otis Redding?
17 - I wanna say John Frusciante but the photo looks like it's from the '70s!
23 - The Used?

Date: 2012-02-24 12:05 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] janie-tangerine.livejournal.com
If Sun City is your favorite charity song you and me are going to get along SO WELL. ;) It's totally mine too and I'm very sad that it isn't more well-known.

2. Nope, the person above got it - it's Ben. E. King. ;)
17. IT IS JOHN FRUSCIANTE! <3 but yeah that pic has a very 70s style.
23. Nope. Those ones are from New Jersey and have a thing for quoting Springsteen. ;)

From: [identity profile] a-carnal-mink.livejournal.com

I'm very sad that it isn't more well-known.

Criminal, really. It was a decent hit in Australia at the time because it had Peter Garrett from Midnight Oil on it. :) But it's really sad to see it become so forgotten since. It was the only charity record that wasn't smaltzy and limp - thing kicked arse!

23 - Gaslight Anthem then?

Date: 2012-02-24 12:21 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] janie-tangerine.livejournal.com
I KNOW? That song actually rocks. Might be that Little Steven isn't really the kind for mushy songs with cheesy lyrics (for which I'm totally happy), but it was just a darn good song other than being for a good cause. Meh, it's really criminal indeed. :/ I think it did decently in some European countries too but still, a pity.

Aaand correct re Gaslight Anthem!
