After all, it could have gotten a lot worse, Hiyoko decides, eating her meat. Too bad that -
"Uhm," she says as she looks at the time, "weren't we supposed to meet your brother later?"
Yuuya mutters something that sounds very much like putain under his breath. "Right. We're late, but - he did see the weather. Well, I'll just send him a text, he can show up here with a ride."
He does, and then they forget about it for the time being, except that the moment the rain is done Ryouta says something about having to throw out the trash, and so he goes to gather it. It takes about five minutes, and when Hiyoko turns to her right and sees him come back to the shop, she also sees Sakuya come out of a car nearby, heading for the shop, and just about crash into the poor maid.
For a moment, both she and Yuuya hold their breath - Sakuya never was too big on other people touching him even by chance, but then they just - stop.
Staring at each other.
With the sun barely out of the clouds, making Sakuya's white, perfectly kept feathers shimmer, while Ryouta's gray ones about perk up, green and purple shimmering under the sunlight.
They still aren't saying a thing.
"Oh," Yuuya says, "finally."
"Finally... what?"
"Seems like my brother has finally found his match, mon amour," he winks, and -
Oh.
Hiyoko can see where it's going as soon as those two start stammering right outside the door.
"Wait," Mr. Leone says, "is your brother in that - in that band? The Pigeon Hive?"
"Oh, you recognized him?" Yuuya asks merrily.
"Oh, shit," Mr. Leone sighs, "now I'll have to handle the fucking fans."
But he doesn't go out and stop whichever stunted conversation those two have going on.
Excellent, Hiyoko thinks - Sakuya really needed to find someone to talk to that wasn't in the band, not that the band is bad, they're all perfectly fine birds, but honestly, Anghel talks in some kind of secret code for fantasy nerds when he's not ranting about new guitar solos, Okosan is an excellent drummer but he only talks about pudding and Nageki is a very good bassist but he also... tends to not talk at all and read a book at all times. Maybe it was time that Sakuya got a bit out of his shell, so to speak.
She thinks that the air outside might be cold, but there certainly seems to be a lot of love in it, this fine afternoon.
She smiles to herself.
She absolutely can't wait to see where this is going.
