So much for getting up at 7 AM and put the episode to download before even washing your face.

 I seriously can't remember squeeing so much since... duh, Hearts and Minds.

FLASHBACK:

1. Darlton like Full Metal Jacket?

2. Desmond my dear, your short hair is great but long suits you better.

3. LEATHER JACKET? *dies* [as you've seen, I've taken some veeery interesting notes about actual facts. Hey, I really took notes.]

4. Widmore is a bastard. Duh.

5. Well, Des, sorry but you deserved Penny's cold shoulder. Though at least, damn, well, not only at the end, I think I wanted to console the poor guy through all the episode.

6. Military? You totally weren't suit for it. But I love you anyway.

7. How COOL was young!Dan's lab? Though that hair, EEEW. Worse wig EVER on show. Okay, maybe Boone's in Expose was worse, I concede it. And errrrm, I didn't understand a thing of the physics. Guess I'm not supposed to anyway.

TEAM JACK:

8. Juliet, you are owning, this season.

9. Charlotte? Thumbs down.

10. How relieved Jack was when Sayid called? *aaawww*. Though this round I was always shouting at him stuff like let Dan do his work lol.

11. Dan? I can't POSSIBLY love you MORE. When he called Des? And Des is his constant? What he's supposed to remember then? He'd better stick around.

TEAM LOCKE:

12. And thankfully this week NO team Locke. Thanks. Because I couldn't take happy Claire again, broken!Sawyer would have made me sad among the squeeage and if Kate doesn't appear for one episode I'm totally okay with it.

TEAM FREIGHTER:

13. Okay, when Sayid was holding Des on the helicopter? Oh man.

14. Frank OWNS me for life. Seriously. I LOVE him. Totally. And he's helping them, yay!

15. Poor, poor Minkowski.

16. All those idiots, you dare touch Des that roughly? Who the hell do you think you are? You've got to handle him with CARE!

17. Sayid? How I loved Sayid here? Even if he and Des are actually not the best friends ever he was so nice and cool and level headed and he fixed the phone and.. and... and... *dies*

18. DEEEEEEEESMOND. I LOVE DESMOND. Nothing else to say. And Henry Ian Cusick is a hell of an actor. I mean, he totally sold the thing and he was plain awesome. Emmy anyone? I think he'd totally deserve one. And the blue shirt was so open! Yeah, sorry, had to say that. Damn, he really needs plenty of hugs, though. And I love him when he's all crazy and angsty. Darlton are cruel, duh, but well. I think he could have gained that inch above Sayid, though I think they're going to share my first place until the show ends. Oh dear, how I love you.

19. The phone call with Penny? Well, Des/Pen is officially my het OTP. It kind of was before but now it's official. I was completely blown away. The last part when they spoke at the same time? *tears up* I love them. I so love them. And they remembered it's Christmas! I should say that it was a lucky case that Penny didn't change number in eight years but whatever. Who cares for logic?

20. Well, at least they remembered that Charlie's dead. Which means they haven't dropped the issue. I'll cut Des some slack here because with such a situation I couldn't see how they could address it, but I hope they will in the future.

21. Sayid + Des = team WIN. I hope they stay together on the freighter with Frank for the whole season plzkthxbye.

22. Okay, Dessy dear, now you can stop time traveling. Because I can lose Minkowski, but you've gotta stop. K? Thanks, love, me.

No speculation because my brain can't process speculation right now.

I think this is my favorite until now with The Economist. Duh, they could leave Eggtown and air this last week. Oh, Des.

If they killed him you'd have probably heard a transatlantic scream. I was so glad he didn't bite it! Though now I think he's safe at least until he meets Penny. He can't not meet Penny at this point.

Duh, I'm still blown. And the Des/Sayid interaction? Best-thing-ever. And I love my Faraday. I so can't wait to see where they're bringing this whole storyline! Though I decided I'm not trying to figure time travel issues out. They're beyond me.

12. I didn't even miss Sawyer (shocking!) due to the awesomeness of the ep. And I really don't mind a week's respite from Kate and Locke.

I like Desmond with long hair best too. And yes, I'm so with you that Penny was entirely justified. I think I would have behaved in exactly the same way. Only I probably wouldn't have relented and started searching for him 5 years later, because Penny is much nicer than I am.

I loved Dan's flashback hair! I thought it looked way real. And it totally suited him as an academic geek.

I agree about Team Locke. That group is not happy-making right now. I can't believe I prefer the group with Jack and Juliet to the group with Sawyer and Hurley, but I do.

I love how this ep we got HIC and Naveen together, playing off each other. They're two of the best actors on the show (THE best?) and I'd love to see them have more screen time together.

Des/Pen is my het ship too. Not that I'd write it, god no. But I really like it on the show.

Eggtown was the dud so far this season. The rest of the eps have all exceeded expectations by far!

Totally with you! And they also play my two overall favorites so I couldn't be happier, really. For me, they can stay on the freighter with Frank until s5 and as long as we see them a good deal, I'd be okay with it.

I sadly do. I think that one of the things I was most upset about was Shannon being the only one to actually remember that Boone died after the episode where they buried him *shakes head and is still in denial*. But well, I try to be optimist. At least because he died making contact with Penny, so they can't possibly drop him like they always do... I hope.

Agreed. But Eggtown was a Kate ep, the premise was already ruining it I guess ;) now that they have it out of the way let's hope they keep on like this!

This is the first episode I've genuinely liked since 'Greatest Hits'. I've been very heavy hearted going into S4, I've missed a few eppys (side stepping the eggs!) My enthusiam hasn't been so low since the S3 mini-season.

But this ep was so exciting and refreshing! I loved Desmond, Penny, Sayid and Faraday. I was glad of a break from Kate and Team Locke too. And there were ANSWERS!

Can we say...bring on the Desmond/Sayid slash? Actually I'm too sold on Despenny as constants too ship or slash Desmond with anybody else. But Desmond - PLEASE! - think about your poor lil brutha Charlie soon okay?

Wasn't this one great? I totally loved it! And at least Charlie was addressed, which was much better than the last two episodes.. and after that Kate dump I really needed myself some good, old Des. And well, you know. That phone call totally makes me a Des/Penny shipper if I already wasn't, but the slashy Des/Sayid vibes here were something strong. I'd bring that on, I mean, at least it'd be hot ;) About the pairing Des with someone else than Penny, it's an interesting matter. IVMHO he ultimately loves her and she's his only target/object of affection in the long run, but I also think that given determinate circumstances he could go with someone else. Apart from the Des/Charlie which is another matter entirely and has its reasons which I guess you'd know better than me, given the right background I can buy Des on the island with someone else, if anything because after you've been alone (or with Kelvin, which is exactly the same) for all that time and believing your girl has forgotten you, I could see him betraying Pen momentarily. Of course this before this call, since after this I wouldn't want him with anyone else ;)

And I think he's going to think about Charlie soon... seeing the condition the poor guy was in this one I would have been veeery surprised if they managed to do some proper mourning, but I guess he's going to deal with it in the future. At least I'd say it, seeing the expression he had when Penny said Charlie. Nonetheless, I'm very glad you liked this one, too!

I think Desmond will think of Charlie again soon if only as a *groan* plot device. Desmond needs a reason to leave the Freighter and go back to the island. You would think Des would want to stay OFF the island now his reunion with Penny is so close. However if he needs to go back to make sure the Claire/Aaron helicopter vision happens since this is what Charlie died for. I can't think of any other reason he'd go back.

About why he'd go back, I have half a theory.. it doesn't comprehend the Claire-Aaron thing, but anyway. Minkowski there said that Penny has the boat's number and that they're not supposed to answer their calls. Given that he was telling the truth, but I don't think he could have been lying seeing the state he was in, IMHO means that Widmore sent the freighter or is among the people who sent it with not-so-good intentions. Des is probably going to find it out in the next episodes and knowing that Penny is searching for him on her own and spoke to Charlie so she has an idea of where he is (and anyway in the end of LTDA the two guys had tracked the island), he'll probably go back because he waits for her to rescue them, IDK if it makes sense. I have had this idea that Penny goes to the rescue of the not-Oceanic-six, or that she goes to the island when the Oceanic 6 go back, but IDK how should I fit Claire and Aaron into this, especially with the Kate mess *groans*..

Mmmh so if Team Others got it it should be on Hydra Island I guess, it's not like they can anchor it in Otherville.. duh, maybe Richard & co are using it? Wow... this episode was amazing!! I couldn't believe when it was 40 mins... I just want more!!
I tend to always like the Desmond episodes though, he's one of my faves.
And the plus was very little Kate and Jack... episodes are always better without them :D

Can you forgive the out of date comment/ancient squee but I was of course interested in reading your thoughts on this. I agree with everything you said. I am loving Daniel and Frank because they are good and interesting characters and they take care of Desmond, not man handling him like the other freighter folk. And Sayid/Des, it will only be bad writing that does not allow these new partners to contain the freighter threat, rescue everyone in five minutes and resurrect the dead.

I’m slowly catching up on livejournal. I hope you made icons or wrote Constant based fic!

I'm absolutely working in a fic where Faraday not only obsesses over Desmond, but actually conspires with evil-father-in-law-whose-name-scapes-me-but-i'm-sure-was-shorter-than-this to get Desmond stranded in the island. Because it was destiny, but nothing wrong with giving destiny a hand.

I got a thing with obsessed stalkers (two of my fandoms are "The prestige" and Hiro/Adam in "Heroes", and in both it's all about the crazy obsession).
