FLASHFORWARD
1. Well. I guess I should say some intelligent thing about this but the whole sum was that Mr Shephard was so damn hot that I didn't care about much else. OMG. OMG. That first sequence with the shower..... duh. I mean. *thud*
1bis. And when he said son of a bitch I was like is Sawyer's ghost around? See what I've got to do to slash? *sigh*
2. Future!Jack/Kate -> fail. Sorry. Didn't like it one bit. In the first part I just photoshopped at least four or five people in Kate's place. And Jack raising Aaron? WTF? Sorry but NO. When he proposed I was like 'Jack where the hell did you go?!' and in the end? Well, I was mighty glad. Seems like going insane is his best way to sanity.
3. No wonder she doesn't want to see him in the future though.
4. Christian Shephard creeps-me-the-fuck-out and he's the character with more screen time EVER.
5. Where did I see the doctor that prescribes Jack the pills?
6. just two words: GO CHARLIE. You WIN at life even if you're dead.
7. Can I just hug Hurley? Please?
8. More in the speculation corner but for now I'll just say that OMG Jack you're a sight for sore eyes.

SPECULATION CORNER
28. So, my how-Kate-has-Aaron theory: Sawyer arrives on the beach only with Miles and Aaron. Or Miles goes on the beach and tells Kate Sawyer is somewhere near. Whatever. They meet, they have the great shipper moment, he says he's staying and he knows she loves Jack and all that jazz but since the island is not a place to raise a kid and the mother is gone doing dad-daughter bonding he makes her promise she'll take care of Aaron and gives him to her. Which seems to me as I said before much more intelligent than I'd give them credit for even if it's going to make my eyes roll because I don't like it, if it happens. But I don't like the Aaron-in-the-future storyline anyway, so..
29. So that's how Jack started going downhill. I sincerely hoped it was because he was seeing Boone and not his dad but however.
Yes, I'm still THAT delusional.
30. So Hurley has kinda accepted the ghost!Charlie? I'm sure they have long talks.
31. And anyway, I already said it but ghost!Charlie wins. You're not supposed to raise him. HA. Square and straight.
32. Which is true because daddy!Jack creeped me out almost as much as mommy!Kate.
33. Who is getting scarier. My son? Like hell.
34. If she's doing something for Sawyer, she's probably meeting Cassidy. Or it's Clementine-related. I mean, the else could she do for him?
35. And anyway.... why, why does she have to lie? Why? Can't she just tell him and not start with trust me and all that shit?
36. I'm not saying that he wasn't an asshole to her because he was. And I'm not saying that this episode didn't stress all of Jack's flaws because it did. But well. As much as I headdesked, I love the guy. I can't not love him. Though they pretty much killed my only Jack canon ship. *sighs*
37. Can we have a ghost party? Please? I'm in bad need of Boone fixing. Really. It's being pretty bad these days.
38. The downward spiral starting hurt, though.
Overall, I liked it. And at least it gave some sorta answers. Sorta. But Jack/Kate -> NO. Guess I'll go and write denial Jack/Juliet. And shit, Danielle is really dead. Show, I hate you as much as I love you.

omg, how hot were the doctor outfits
Date: 2008-05-02 10:09 am (UTC)I speak as someone who has had NO emotional investment in any ships in a looong time, although Jack/Juliet would have worked and made sense beautifully, if anything because both actors can act and both characters act their age.
So what I'm saying is... I LOVED the Jack/Kate. You know why? Cause if this were a Kate episode it would have been totally lame and asinine and what have you and it would have rained with OOC. But it wasn't and it's not and it's kinda awesome actually. Allow me to explain.
This was seriously the BEST way to end this mess. You know I'm absolutely convinced Jack is going to die once he goes back to the Island. If he was ever going to be with Kate, this was the time. And how much do I LOVE that I don't even hate Kate for this particular episode? I have TTLG to hate her for and it's enough, but here I feel the way I felt for Sarah after THP. I kinda shrugged and went: "It's BOTH their faults cause they're just WRONG for each other in every single way." And Jack and Kate are the most mismatched people on television ever. But the results are SO good for Jack's story, I'm kinda loving the way they did it. Love it.
I don't understand why Kate doing something from Clementine would have to be kept a secret from Jack. He'd give her a ride there, given how hard he's trying to be a good daddy himself, he'd sympathize with Sawyer the way he did when he told Kate he loved her. I'm not hating on Kate, btw, it simply doesn't make sense writingwise. I'm just Zen about her the way I was with Sarah in THP, I didn't hate Sarah either. It's BOTH their faults, Jack was about to marry Kate for reasons that were as wrong as him marrying Sarah. Nobody's going to agree with me, but they're WRONG for each other. So wrong. I don't even mean this in some huffy, inflamatory way. This is SO much better than I'd ever hoped for their relationship off Island to be because it's EXACTLY in character for both, especially Jack. That's absolutely who he is in that final scene there and that's who she doesn't get. Like I said earlier, I completely understand "I'M THE ONE WHO'S HERE" because I've always suspected that's how Jack's felt since pretty much the day Sawyer told him he made out with Kate. It's his life's noxious mantra following him around: "No matter how hard I try, it will never be good enough" and "It doesn't matter who he is... " etc. It's a GOOD, nay, GREAT story so that's a big sigh of relief for me and thank God they put it in a Jack episode cause otherwise I might not be quite so happy about it now.

Do I wish he'd want what's GOOD for him instead? Sure. But it would be unrealistic for him because he's not there. He's scared and he's lost and "I'm not who I was, although I look the same... Who am I?" And she doesn't GET that and never will. She doesn't understand and know him enough not to lie to him (like seriously, if she's doing Sawyer a favor about his DAUGHTER what are the chances that Jack would give her a ride there, given how hard he's trying to be a good father himself?) and not to demand trust but never give any of it back. But I don't hate her for it, I don't even fault her for it. It's Kate. And he's Jack. And they're totally WRONG for each other and Jack was trying to fake happiness for five minutes there and he got laid a lot and it will all go to hell and he'll go back to the Island and she'll tell him how much he loves him right before he dies, end of.
And I love it. Cause omfg, this is my favorite story on televion bar none and aside from wanting to fuck Matthew Fox until we're both dehydrated and can't walk straight for a week, he's also kinda SCARY good and outdid himself actingwise so how lucky am I anyway?
JULIET FTW, can I have her for myself, pls? I'd totally go gay for Juliet. Also... Jin and Charlotte interraction was awesome as was the great use they made of ALL the freighties.
THIS is why I love this episode and only liked with reservations last weeks. It's not Ben and Widmore that got me hooked, it's not them I care about.

Yeah, exactly. I mean, I get he'd be upset if she hid him something regarding Sawyer but why the fuck would she lie to him about that? Meh, they wouldn't have worked anyway and they'd have fallen apart for another reason but that was kinda nonsense. Whatever.

I'd definitely go gay for Juliet, too. She's great. And much better for him than Kate. And I sincerely hope they're over and that she gets a chance because that works for me. Jin/Charlotte -> AWESOME. Totally.
