Okay, first of all, THANKS so much for the nomination this month at
lost_fic_awards. I just spent then minutes jawdropping this morning, I'm totally honored to be in there. *blushes*

So today I've half procrastinated and half actually studying and while I guess I accomplished something on the Kant side of the fence, one thing I surely accomplished is that Nick Cave is not good studying music, especially not Murder Ballads since not only it doesn't do relaxing background (but I'm masochistic on that and I knew it) I ended up with at least one not exactly fluffy plot bunny and maybe another one. The fact that when it wasn't Cave it was Nirvana didn't surely help either.
[ps: for
lenina20, you'll probably be glad because one was sort of Desmond/Claire. Though nothing that implies killing anyone since I had switched record by then and so if it works it'll probably be angsting all the way]
Then, uhm, the Real Locke -> incoherent. Can you write a treatise of seven hundred pages and contradict yourself every thirty? Well, possibly one can. Maybe he's not too different from the other Locke these days. *sigh* And I still have that Hume paper to finish. At least he was coherent, much so.
And then I read the news and guess it won't make sense to anyone who doesn't follow our internal disgraces (which means every non Italian on my FL ;) ), but I'm starting to wonder how much it's going to take for a very, serious infective disease to spread all through Naples and surroundings. Because summer is coming here, but seems like no one has actually understood that when you have all that trash out in the open diseases do usually spread. *sigh* Then I closed the newspaper because it was getting depressing.
By the way, has anyone ever seen a sort of demented sitcom I caught on TV the other day where the guy that on Lost plays Bernard plays the father of the actress that played Nikki? Because well, that was an experience I don't want to repeat ever again.

Date: 2008-06-03 09:16 pm (UTC)Gah! I adore Nick Cave and all his brutally twisted yet sublime music. Murder Ballads is so not relaxing background music, especially when you get to songs like 'Curse of Milhaven' and have to listen to all the words. 'Boatmans Call' is a little more chilled. But many of his songs, like 'Mercy Seat' could keep me awake at night never mind distract me from studying.
Oh well, maybe Locke (the island, the show, etc) was just meant to be incoherant then. I started thinking about Lost on a walk today and I think I've figured out how it's gonna end. My theory does involve nearly everyone dying but that doesn't seem unlikely at this point.

Date: 2008-06-03 09:30 pm (UTC)I've got... I think 80% of the bunnies running at the moment are Boone. I've got in the works dead!Boone patronizing dead!Locke, alive!Boone being all NOT angsty and giving pens to alive!Charlie in a absolutely NOT angsty S1 thing that I should better find a way to end because it's going around in ways I didn't plan and deeadbuthere!Boone playing cards with Hurley. Oh, and I'm stuck on a thing of 8000 words or so where Boone opens the hatch and gets Desmond out during Deus Ex Machina. Then I've arrived at a halt and I don't know how should I end it but I'll manage. Well, seems like I've got a handful of Boone stuff these days.
Nick Cave is ♥. I love Murder Ballads but I should have known better. I love The Curse of Millheaven. I don't have Boatman's Call but I'm planning on getting his stuff I don't as soon as he can't distract me from exams.
Well, if the island Locke is inspired on the real one, they did an EXCELLENT job because the real one is as incoherent as he is. And sadly I think that the more people die in your theory the closer you'll be to the truth *sigh* I just can hope they don't kill Sayid/Desmond until the end. Oh well, since my constant is already dead I'll just end up writing afterlife fics I guess.

Date: 2008-06-03 10:13 pm (UTC)Get. More. Cave. He is one of my all time favs. I would strongly recommend you get 'No more shall we part' and the 'Lyre of Orpheus' double album if you haven't already. His new album is fantastic too.
I think the only possible "happy" ending is that Lostees will indeed see each other in another life. Since by the looks of things death is not quite the end for people who die on the island. Or for Christian and Locke for people who's bodies end up there.

Date: 2008-06-03 10:20 pm (UTC)I owe one Boone/Charlie for a table and I just figured out I was sick of dead fics so I'm trying to avoid especially all the possible avoidable angst in there. The pens came out like that and I went with it, now I hope I manage to keep the tone angst free. If it doesn't work and angst surfaces I'm getting Artz into it by force. And that's a way too nice thing to say ♥! But well, I don't complain if I spread Boone love around ;)
Meh, at this point they could just kill everyone and do the zombie season. I think it'd be a way less complicated choice, especially since it's half zombie season anyway and the zombies think better.

Date: 2008-06-03 10:38 pm (UTC)I actually think S6 could be enjoyable - silly but enjoyable - if they made it a big reunion series. The O6 could reunite with the left!behinds and then zombie Locke could bring the undead crowd along to join the party. Then everybodys old favourites would come back. Well, it's not likely but it'd be nice.

Date: 2008-06-03 10:43 pm (UTC)I'll see a way to work Artz in. He's actually scary to write. I tried once but I couldn't get the dialogue right and that was almighty crazy since I thought nothing could get worse than Faraday, but I'd love to have him in. Maybe I should just re-watch Exposé. I mean, there was Boone, pens and he talked more than during all of S1. Then that episode was total crack but still, might come handy.

Congratulations on the nominations!

Date: 2008-06-03 09:59 pm (UTC)You on the hating Locke ship too? Well at least I'm not alone. I actually kinda like Hume because at least he makes sense. And Kant is the next exam I have to do and now that's a joy *sigh*
That's kind of shocking that there wasn't any Kant or Marx (Karl maybe..?) or Hegel up to now. Do they lack on the German side of the matter? What's with that? I mean, they dig out Carlyle and Bentham of everyone, they don't have those? *shakes head*

Date: 2008-06-03 10:29 pm (UTC)We still have two seasons to go. I'd be seriously disappointed if they didn't include a Kant or Immanuel character. They've covered so many Englightenent philosophers than to skip Kant would be a gross oversight.
Good luck with your Kant exam. He still gives me headaches, but I passed that class.

Date: 2008-06-03 10:47 pm (UTC)I think German philosophers are too scary for even crazy Lost writers to handle
That's probably true and the Karl/Rousseau's daughter business? That'd be excellent philosophers RPS indeed, even if way scary. And I'm waiting for the Immanuel to turn up, too. Hey, maybe it's the economist. If the economist is German and doesn't even have a philosophy name I'd be way disappointed.

Date: 2008-06-03 10:23 pm (UTC)(I totally am too and they still didn't understand that as long as it was winter they could sort of get away with that but now... I mean, it doesn't take a genius to realize that trash in the open = diseases. well, they're sending the army there. to open one trash site. well, I'd advise not to go there for tourism this summer *sighs*)
And yeeeessss, the bunny is sort of there. Now if it wants to talk to me in a sensible language...
