Yunjin Kim is my hero. Seriously.

OMG. This was TOO awesome.
So I was there watching the commentary for Ji Yeon and at one point we come to Desmond and Sayid on the freighter. Transcript:
Director: Sayid and Desmond make a cute couple.
Yunjin Kim: I think it's about time we have a gay couple on our show.
Daniel Dae Kim: Very friendly would become extra friendly, then.
Seriously. I love commentaries but this one? Made my day. See, she's a slasher! And the director totally is, too! *giggles*

Date: 2008-10-26 08:46 pm (UTC)Dom has talked a lot about slash in interviews on Lord of the Rings fandom. The LotR cast are all very pro-slash. That was the first fandom I ever read slash in and it was cool that the cast enjoyed it too - especially Sir Ian Mckellen! I think most actors get a little thrill out of slash culture, if they are aware of it. I was excited to learn that one of the actors in my fav BSG pairing is a big fan of slash and is open to his character being gay.

Date: 2008-10-26 09:20 pm (UTC)I so knew about the LOTR cast slashing habits! I knew that there was Sir Ian McKellen reading those and the elf playing Haldir whose name is totally failing me right now. And that's cool about your BSG pairing! That definitely makes you happier when you go slashing around ;)

Date: 2008-10-26 10:30 pm (UTC)Hmm, I think there might be something on the Beginning of the End commentary that I haven't watched until now, but I'm sure that they talked about Charlie and showed scenes from the finale in the first On Location thing (for episode 1) and I thiiink in one documentary about the Freighters though I couldn't swear on that. Surely somewhere. Then there's a fake documentary that is supposed to show that the O6 story was a lie complete with interviews with a gynecologist saying that Kate couldn't be pregnant, a nutritionist saying that they looked too fine for having been stranded and having eaten only fish and nuts and stuff. At one point they talk about the three dead survivors and they show pics of Charlie, Boone and Libby (only Boone appearance in the dvd! Yay! *is sarcastic*) and they highlighted Charlie's and then showed something, but I watched it at one in the morning and I didn't hear it rightly so I don't know exactly what they said. I'm re-watching that soon anyway, since as you said the starving fan will accept crumbs and I need to understand if they actually said anything about Boone.

I think it was actually implying that the conspiracy theorists believed the Oceanic 6 had eaten Charlie, Libby and Boone and that's why none of them had lost any weight. Delightful.
