1. Make a list of 5 things you can see without getting up:
Uhm, my glasses which I should be wearing, the Thunderbolt and Lightfoot dvd, a James Dean poster, a tangerine-shaped candle and a Bruce Springsteen cd lying on my desk.
2. How do you style your hair?
I don't. I dry it when I wash it and that's it. If it comes out alright fine, otherwise I'll tie it for the next three days.
3. What are you wearing now?
Black trousers, black sweater, blue shirt under the sweater.
4. What's your occupation?
What she said.
5. Do you nap a lot?
Sometimes, but just when I didn't start the day well.
6. Who was the last person you hugged?
My mother?
7. What's your current fandom/obsession/addiction?
Pf, Lost and Bruce, but that's not news.
8. What was the last thing you ate today?
I had breakfast? A lot of coffee, not so much milk and crackers with orange marmalade.
9. What was the last text message you received?
You remember my uber religious (former) friend? He sent me a text saying last morning there was an interview airing on the national tv about his conversion (which wasn't a conversion. He became a fundamentalist, which is different than conversion, but anyway). Of course I didn't watch it, also because I saw it too late and I was studying rather than checking a program called The road to Damascus.
10. What websites do you always visit when you go online?
LJ, lastfm, yahoo, my newspaper's site, youtube.
11. What was the last thing you bought?
Uhm, a comic book? Can't remember.
12. What are you listening to right now?
What Love Can Do by Bruce Springsteen.
13. What do you think about before you go to bed at night?
How the holy fuck am I going to write that Jack/Sawyer fic which I have in my head but can't seem to actually write? But that's specific. It depends.

Working on a Dream for myself. ;)
15. What is your favorite weather, and why?
Warm and sunny, but not uber-hot. Because I like to be out but when it rains it sucks and I hate, hate, hate cold.
16. If you could play any musical instrument, which one would you play?
I'm the worst bass player in existence but I do play it when I manage.
17. How are you?
Cold as hell and Kant is killing my head, but in a week it'll be over. \o/
18. What's something you'd like to say to someone right now?

Date: 2009-02-22 04:50 pm (UTC)1) Because she's somewhat like Shannon (tall, a blonde and piercing eyes even if the color is different) and at the same time she's like Jack (a doctor, she actually accomplishes things and she's older than he is); he never could resist either, but such a combination is a killer.
2) Because she has been trapped there for three years, she's always the other woman, she's always the first to be left behind and now she was left behind by the person she probably loved the most, while he has been conned for at least a year if not more by the person he loved the most, he was always the first to be taken advantage of and to be forgotten, he never even managed to be the other person for anyone and he's left behind, too. With her, he's the other person and that's always better than he ever had and he can treat her like he always wanted to treat Shannon (but Shannon never allowed it).
3) Because Jack saved the both of them and then left them both behind and they do have something in common indeed.
4) Because while Juliet understood after ten minutes that he's the the kind that would make any Freudian psychoanalyst happy, from the bare fact that he was in love with his sister (and somehow is still) to the way he becomes freaking compulsive not only because he wants to be helpful but at pretty much anything he does, and while people ten years younger than she is aren't exactly her type, he still is the nicest person she's met during the last three years, he makes her feel like a princess (for how ridiculous it sounds) and the point is that while they both know what it really is about, he's utterly and absolutely sincere and it's clear that he puts her issues before his own. And it might not exactly be healthy but it's exactly what she needs.
5) Because she wasn't there before and after. She doesn't treat him differently because he survived that fall, since she knew him after it happened. Everyone from the crash still looks at him like he's some proof miracles exist and he hates it, but she doesn't and nonetheless she's kind to him in a way no one else he cared about that way was (Shannon never really was and Jack kind of lacked the bedside manners, not to mention that it was clear he wasn't interested in the sense Boone was); he craves it as he craved the positive attention before that plane fell down.
Also, I hate you because I want to write them now. ;)

Date: 2009-02-22 04:18 pm (UTC)1. Because the problem is that no smart person/deity would hook up with Jacob, and the FSM is notoriously not too smart since it made the world the imperfect way it is and is probably not the most intelligent creator.
2. Because the Black Rock is a pirate ship, Jacob called it to him ages ago and so proved himself worthy in the FSM's eyes; not to mention that the Black Rock's presence is exactly the reason for which the island's climate is so nice and comfortable to live in.
3. Because the eight I'd-Rather-You-Didn'ts obviously encourage the free porn and if Jacob is Ben's teacher, then he has to like the free porn, and when he meets the FSM, they'll go along splendidly.
4. Because the FSM enjoys the simple things in life even though he's made of complex-carbohydrates and seriously, what's more simple than a hut and a chair?
5. Because the FSM is basically a great mindfucker since he deceived us regarding the real age of our planet just for His own amusement and Jacob, being quite the mindfucker himself, would absolutely appreciate such an attitude and the FSM likewise; they'd live mindfuckingly happily ever after and it doesn't really get better.

Date: 2009-02-22 05:25 pm (UTC)1. Because when someone saves your soul and you're honest enough to admit it to yourself, then you're honest enough to admit also that there's no one you'll be as close to as to him. Even if he's long, tall and ugly and if he doesn't appreciate your humor.
2. Because Eddie is the first and only person whom Roland never really let down. Back when he was young he failed Susan and he failed his friends; and while Jake was the first other person he really could say he loved after such a long time, he had still let him fall to feed his obsession; Susannah might have stopped trusting him or believing in their mission after Eddie died, but that's not the point. Until then, they might have argued and fought and disagreed, but still, Roland can safely say that he doesn't see an abyss when he thinks about Eddie, and in his case it's the exception and not the rule.
3. Because Roland understands Eddie like no one else does or ever did, and Eddie brings out a good side of Roland which most times is unknown even to Roland himself. Eddie can't forget how it took Roland only five minutes to understand which were exactly his issues with Henry, and Roland knows that if not for three good months spent in Eddie's constant company he would have never even thought about cracking a joke, as lame as it was.
4) Because they're both Tower-junkies; maybe Eddie thinks he isn't as much as Roland is and it's probably true because you can't beat a life spent searching for it with barely three months, but when you quit something addictive, it's easy to find another one soon and he's no exception.
5) Because Roland gave Eddie a second chance when he doesn't think he was ever given a first at all (he doesn't think he has actually had a real grip on his life until he told Roland he was going with him) and that's why he knows there's no one else in the world he loves as much.

2) Because while Sawyer is a tall blond with green eyes he's nothing like Mary and someone similar to Mary is exactly what John doesn't need.
3) Because Sawyer doesn't mind driving, doesn't mind the seedy motels, doesn't even want to know what is this job of John's and while he knows his place, in bed he's pretty much a challenge and John loves challenges.
4) Because Sawyer incredibly manages to get along with both Sam and Dean; with the first, it's because of the books, while with the second, it's the music and the fact that he was the one teaching Dean a lot of ways to con some money and how to lure a girl into your bed in one hour.
5) Because Sawyer knows exactly what having demons means, even if not of the real kind, and killing demons (any kind of demons) is John's job, after all.

Date: 2009-02-22 10:45 pm (UTC)1) Because they get each other. They both made wrong choices and did terrible things and while they deal with it in a different way, they both know what it means carrying such a burden on your shoulders better than anyone else could.
2) Because they saw each other at their worst a week after they met and while it's something that will always hang between them, by all means they should have ended up hating each other. But not only they don't, but they end up respecting first and trusting each other after and it's not exactly every day that it happens.
3) Because Sawyer needs someone who can deal with him the way he is and who won't make him feel trapped; Sayid will always think that nothing Sawyer has done can get worse than what he did himself and won't ever try to change him or crowd him, which is probably the reason for which Sawyer stays.
4) Because Sayid doesn't exactly like to talk but he likes to listen and with Sawyer around there rarely is silence.
5) Because once Sayid was the one, between them, who tried the hardest to be a better person and he made Sawyer believe he could try it, too, even if it wasn't like Sayid didn't have his slips. Now Sawyer is the one who has changed and Sayid is the one looking up at him thinking that maybe he can have one last chance at it.
(the last one was probably very much influenced by that last fic of yours but now it kind of became my fanon ;) )

Date: 2009-02-23 08:42 pm (UTC)#1 is kind of the starting point whenever one writes them together, isn't it? And #2 as well. Starting out by showing each other the worst side of themselves - not exactly an auspicious beginning, but then there's nowhere to go but up. Plus, I think it reinforces #1.
Your other reasons are great as well. I guess we see the pairing in a pretty similar way. :)

You're totally right about #2 reinforcing #1 but then again you can't have Sawyer/Sayid without Confidence Man, at least for me. (Fun thing that Confidence Man is also one of my Jack/Boone main episodes. Talk about importance of episodes here!)

Date: 2009-02-22 11:03 pm (UTC)1) Because Sayid saves Desmond's life twice, when he fixes the phone and when he refuses to kill Penny; but the second time, Sayid feels like it's been Desmond really saving his, since he doesn't know whether he'd have managed to be back from such a deed; and he does tell Desmond, when he's forced to go back and leave Penny behind.
2) Because Desmond is probably the only person on the island who doesn't know what Sayid had been up to in his previous life and that he was a torturer and then it had been a relief to be with someone who didn't know; he only knows about what Sayid has been up to since Nadia died and the way he looked at Sayid hadn't changed.
3) Because Desmond has understood that honor isn't everything and Sayid never valued honor much at all, especially lately.
4) Because Desmond stopped feeling so guilty for Kelvin's death the day he learned he was the one teaching Sayid how to torture.
5) Because it ends up with them always on the same side and separated from everyone else they know; and while they don't say much it isn't a problem because they realized they always understood each other without much need for words.
