1. Okay, first thing of the day, happy birthday [livejournal.com profile] bachlava!

I hope you have the most wonderful day! ♥ And year, of course. And while I can't promise anything in a short time because my writing mojo is doing its thing and not mine lately, if you want to prompt me I'll be more than glad to comply. Happy birthday again!

2. In other news, shoot me. I claimed Castiel at [livejournal.com profile] sacred_20. Because I was searching for a new Boone table since I'm almost done with the one I have and I ended there and it was like, perfect and I couldn't resist and really, I signed up for 20 SPN fics about the most difficult character I had the pleasure to experience for that fandom when I'm not even really active into it? Good luck, Janie, good luck. (I didn't find what I was searching for, actually.)

3. Meme from [livejournal.com profile] wandersfound! Ask me and I'll give you three fandoms and you'll answer the following questions.

01: What got you into this fandom in the first place?
02: Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
03: Favorite episodes/books/movies/etc.?
04: Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?
05: Do you think that more people should get into this fandom?

I was given Lost, Supernatural and The Dark Tower. Beware: answers to the first couple ones will be mostly the same one.

a) Lost
1) [livejournal.com profile] lasamy, Jack/Sawyer fic and Ian Somerhalder, in order.

Okay, I guess it needs explaining. See, once, I didn't watch tv-shows. Mostly because I didn't know that one could download them and I always was lousy at watching things on TV and I always lost track. Then, I met [livejournal.com profile] lasamy online for other stuff and we exchanged IM contacts and she was like 'do you watch Lost?' and I was like 'I really don't watch tv-shows, you know', and then she was very apt in trying to bribe me, but I resisted. Then I stumbled completely by chance into an AMAZING Jack/Sawyer fic which completely blew my mind even if I barely knew who they were and I was like, if this show has characters so good, then it's worth a try. So [livejournal.com profile] lasamy sends me the dvds and I watch the pilot all ready to feel the J/S love and Boone and his pens came into my life and here I am.

2) I'm sticking for the long haul. As I said a ton of times, if I didn't quit for Boone I don't quit for anyone else. And I really want to know how this thing ends.

3) Deus Ex Machina, All The Best Cowboys Have Daddy Issues, Exodus part I, the pilot, the Constant, the Economist, Live Together Die Alone, Solitary, Tricia Tanaka etc., Further Instructions, Hearts And Minds, Homecoming.

4) Sure, it's my main fandom actually. ;) I fic, I discuss, I try to make icons when my Photoshop decides to work (I should really give my poor computer a formatting), I'm generally obsessed with it.

5) Uhm, well, I like it as it is because while there might be a current lack of slash of the explicit variety, it's a small group, we all know each other, there's a sense of community which lacks in all other fandoms I skimmed in and I manage to keep up with it. But hey, more people is always good.

Supernatural

1) You'll never guess.. yeaaah, [livejournal.com profile] lasamy again. At least I got her into FNL, for a change. ;) ;) That said, she had started watching it to fill the gap between Lost S3 and S4. Me, I was still catching up with Lost so I heard the squee as she watched SPN and that was it, but then I finished Lost too and I figured I could try it, mostly because I'm a complete JDM fangirl and I thought Jensen looked pretty lovely. So I start watching it and think 'woah, nice', then the bugs episode happens and since I hate bugs I left it there for a month and a half, then I decided to give it another chance and I fell in love. Salvation/Devil's Trap is STILL my favorite episode altogether *sigh*. Then I watched S2 and what had aired of S3 in like, a month, and here I am.

2) Are you crazy? I'm SO sticking with it! I'm loving it so much right now! (And I'm so in love with Misha Collins! But whatever ;) )

3) Salvation/Devil's Trap, Simon Said, In My Time Of Dying, The Rapture, Dead In The Water, The Monster At The End Of This Book, Jus In Bello, Mystery Spot, AHBL 1/2, On The Head Of A Pin, Crossroad Blues, Dead Man's Blood; then No Rest For The Wicked gets the spot for the best scene ever on that show (when they sing Bon Jovi ;) ) and Monster Movie for the fucking best thing which is too awesome to be in a chart. I can't classify it, but I love it to pieces.

4) Mm, occasionally. I really enjoy the show, but the fandom scares me. It's huge and I couldn't ever keep up with a quarter of it were I to get into it for good. I rarely write in there because I do it just when I get a plot bunny or when I have requests, but I don't really have SPN bunnies much. (Except that now I claimed 20 Cas fics so I will have to eventually.) I make icons when I like the episode and I fic when I get the chance, but I never post discussions outside this journal. Also, whenever I end up into some peripheral wank (and there's a lot of wank) I always run because I enjoy SPN as it is and wank tires me.

5) Erm, I think I know probably three or four people who are in my FL for SPN first and not Lost first and I really can't keep up with how huge it is so I guess it's alright as it is, but since I'm not 100% involved I really can't say.

The Dark Tower

1) Here, I got in myself. Or at least, I just was in a complete King crush phase, I decided to check it because I eventually wanted to check everything King did and I read The Gunslinger and I liked it, then I read Drawing Of The Three and Eddie Dean came into my life and it stole at least two good years of it.

2) Erm, it's kinda done? I mean, there isn't an Italian fandom for it and there barely is an English one, so I guess I was never that much into it even if I wrote a heap of fics when I wrote in Italian, but if I get requests I love to get back to it. Sometimes I wish I did it on my own again but I used up my DT mojo three/four years ago and I don't know what'd come out if I were to go back to it.

3) The Wastelands. Best-book-in-the-series-ever. I love every-fucking-comma-of-it. Second is Drawing along with Wizard and Glass. I really liked Wolves of the Calla. The Gunslinger is great but it lacks Eddie ;), while I kinda love Song Of Susannah mostly because even if it's no match for the other shorter books in the series it was a gold mine for Roland/Eddie slashing *cough*. And then I frankly hate the second part of the last book with a vengeance.

4) See two. I do it if I get prompts and I did once when I got a couple of friends to read it. ;)

5) Fuck YES. I really could do with some more Dark Tower fans around. ;) Everyone is LOTR or Harry Potter or Twilight or Narnia and no one is DT and it's too bad. Especially when people, Eddie Dean is in there. ;) ;)

6. Unrelated: never, never choose to do anything concerning the Middle Ages when you have the chance. (Translated: Medieval philosophy is boring. Blah. Next time I'm picking modern.)

7. Uhm, all for now I think. *waves* Next post should be the Epic SPN Review, if things go smooth.

oooh meme, do me!

and while we're at it... what's the deal with the Muffinman? IT's getting a bit late to change dates and venue isn't it?
I can still get tickets for the same price, but I think they might be starting to get more expensive now as summer approcahes. So it can change fast, and I'm not made of money so.

From: [identity profile] janie-tangerine.livejournal.com
I'd say get the tickets. Two days ago they said it was 95% a go and it'll probably just start later so I'd say you can go for it. On the 18th would be pretty much the thing, or 17th is good too, but I think they're doing it. In case it gets canceled I'll notify y/y?

About the meme... mm, Supernatural, Star Wars and Dark Angel.

okidoki, I'll prolly buy tickets for the 17th... cause 18th is a Saturday and is more expensive.
We need to have a Skype date again I think. Decide on definite dates *nods*

yikes O.o
uhmmm... need to think about those. Haven't watched Dark Angel in AGES.

Your banner for Bachlava is so pretty!

Unrelated: never, never choose to do anything concerning the Middle Ages when you have the chance.

I have to teach a lecture of family history in the middle ages and whether childhood existed. That is about all I can do without falling asleep. Oh, and plagues, I loved medieval plagues!

New icons - yay!

Thanks so much!

And argh, that sounds almost as boring as St. Thomas. The plagues are great subjects though, I totally agree about that. And I guess I can save the literature, but the rest? Please no. *sigh* I can't deal with Middle Ages.

There should be new ones this weekend!

ahhh, friends luring us into a fandom. it's such a great way to fall! lol! I do agree with you though, when I start something, and invest time and energy in it, I generally try to see it until the end. I mostly watch shows on DVD, though, apart SPN and Lost. it's a very different experience than experimenting the fan reaction 'live'.

It's just good to be lured. Then again, I don't have any force of will, lol. And yeah, when I start one thing it has to get BAD in order for me to leave. *cough* Heroes *coughcough* (well, I haven't exactly given up yet but I lost 98% of the interest *sigh*). DVDs is a great way too (I did it with Six Feet Under) but I usually don't have enough money to get complete series *sigh*.
