Under the cut will follow a brief recap of my errands afternoon with also some Jack eyecandy thanks to Lost S4 being aired on the cable here in a while, but out of the cut because it has to be said.
I'm officially going to be under Roger Taylor's, Brian May's and Paul Rodger's stage on next Septembert 26th. I passed in a store where they sell concert tickets, I saw that they were already sold for the date they're playing here in Rome and since it wasn't really that much comparing it with Springsteen ticktets, I bought myself a ticket for the parterre. I mean, four months of Greek/Latin repetitions must be used wisely, right? If Roger sings anything and Brian sings 39 I'll probably be a weeping mess for a week but hey. I always say that everybody goes to Milan and no one comes here? Well, for once I'm so going!
And that was the first good news of the day. For the rest, cut. Oh,
elliotsmelliot , the King party shall start soon because I found The Shining ;)
So, let's say that the primary objective was buying university books. Which was accomplished for last, but was accomplished and without all the mess of last time. And today was also a lovely spring day so at least it wasn't raining. Anyway.
Since for once the right bus passed I went to the center, where I conveniently found myself in the ticket store. Then I went to the one English library only that manages to survive here because I was searching for The Shining. Which I found, but not only that. Since every time I end up in such places I always search for Orwell to see if I find something I don't have at a reasonable price, I was lurking in the O section of the shelf. Nothing found (even if now I know that for my birthday I want his complete journalistic essays. He was so intelligent it's a pleasure to read him whatever he writes and I had a couple of his essays somewhere which I loved), but O is close to M and while I raise my eyes I read The Confidence Man. Then I leave out all the obvious thoughts I have and I see that it was by Melville. And for how I kinda love Moby Dick to pieces and I thought I had a fair knowledge of what Melville wrote, I surely didn't know that he wrote some Confidence Man book which is, according to the back cover, his most nearly perfect work. Assuming that Moby Dick was the perfect one, I had to buy it. And so I bought it. The plot also looked way interesting so I'll be on to that soon.
Then I had to take another bus to the bookshop I was actually supposed to go in the first place and so I went to a square from where six or seven lines start, now I don't know how it is in English, and then I kinda started swooning in the middle of the road. Reason?

For anyone interested, it says 'Don't be afraid, the new episodes are on preview on this cable channel which you get only if you have cable'. Which means that they won't air them before September or October on the normal channel but who cares, I've got my sources ;) unfortunately that bus started soon after and I couldn't admire the eye candy much longer, but hey, it was good.
Oh, and I relented and read Margaret Atwood, three straight hours this morning and then on the trips/while waiting for the four lines of bus I had to take. It was The Penelopiad because it was the only one I already had at home and wow, it was great. I absolutely loved it! Now when I'm through both with King and Melville I'll definitely read something else by her because she's really good. Yay for good recommendations! Even if that title made me chuckle every time I brought the book out. And so this was my almighty shopping day. Guess I'll study something and then use the evening to write some. Uhm, Mondays aren't so bad when it's the only day you don't have lectures.
Oh, and I also stumbled on some posters of a guy who runs for the communal administration (thankfully for the right side, or well, the side I vote for anyways) in the next elections (aarghhh) whose name is Athos. Let's say that chuckling for ten minutes covered it.
