1. So yesterday LJ didn't let me answer to any comment if my answer was longer than five lines in the comment box. *facepalm* Dear LJ, are you letting me catch up at some point? Thanks, me. My icon represents what I'd like to do if I could meet those hackers, though tbh I'm also using it because it's gorgeous.

2. Porn battle started. I've been spending the last three hours writing random ASOIAF fills just to see if I have a handle on the characters. I feel like I'm doing something wrong because they lack rolling heads and utter angst, though a couple I've been eyeing are good for angstfesting. Right now I have a couple for both my main ships, let's see if this evening I like them enough to post them.. also why the heck I'm eyeing Theon/Robb prompts, I DON'T EVEN SHIP THAT

3. Let's give that meme a boost.

four books. which is good. )

4. I didn't need a reminder of how awesome Misha Collins is, but this is so great that I can't even. That man has no right to be real. Stop ruining men for me, Misha. Except.. no, keep on doing it. I'll get over it and I can bask in your awesomeness.

5. Sometime this week I will upload the Bon Jovi concert pics. And Slash's concert pics (or: at least Janie scored two good ones this month).

6. Sirens ends today. Hear me weeping. Also, I decided I'm watching GoT while at my grandmother's in the second part of the month - I'll be internet-less and bored out of my mind, so at least I'll be entertained.

7. That stated, I'll go ponder on my fills and answering the backload of comments that I had to ignore for the entire week courtesy of Russian hackers. *glares and waves*

Okay world, you remember when I was ranting about the lack of a comprehensive Dark Tower community?

WELL I WENT AND DID IT so if you're interested or you know interested people please join because considering the nonexistence of a fandom right now I really want it to have at least some activity xD

ANYWAY.

GO JOIN. And if you have old fanart or old fic or old icons or whatever pleasepleaseplease re-post it. I really want the whole thing to work. *crosses fingers*

Now I'll go promoting shamelessly somewhere else, but expect some real post soon. Or maybe some fic if I manage to finish things.

1. Most important thing first: I have my Edinburgh tickets for the European Lost fangirl meeting!!! :D I'm so excited omg. Also I hope that Scotland is chilly because I need to get out of this goddamn heat where there are 32 degrees and I feel 38 right the fuck now. For a while, at least.

2. That said: anyone wants a card from there? Trust me, you want it from Edinburgh and not from my grandmother's place where I'll be heading shortly after I'm back. ;) In case, just leave me a comment and if I have your address already we're cool. If not, PM me? ;)

3. I find it mostly amusing that 90% of the reason I'll go see Inception whenever the hell it comes out in this goddamn country (September, I think), is that Joseph Gordon-Levitt stars in it. The fact that it looks awesome helps, but yeah. That'd be my reason number one. Okay, this point was unnecessary, but still. Also all my fl is like AWESOME!!!!!!!! and I'm like 'why the hell do I need to wait two months?'.

4. I finally bought myself Under The Dome, which I'll probably end up reading on the plane to Edinburgh. Even tho it's heavy so I might want to save it for my grandmother's place. *uses DT icon in King's honor* Also I bought myself Ally McBeal S1 because it was very cheap and I've been caught in a re-watching from the beginning. How I used to love that show and the totally not adjusted characters in it. <3 *sigh*

5. Also, I have a new printer. For the first time in three years. I don't know if I should weep of joy or headdesk. Also I need to make myself a sticky table with all the stuff I need to write (stealing from [livejournal.com profile] wandersfound's book, I think) because maybe then I'll be able to finish things.

6. Since Bruce Springsteen decided to leave me alone and not to tour this summer, I've been listening a lot to the audio from London Calling, just because it's easier than dig out the dvd every time. And at one point he's like 'we're going to build a house of sexual healing!!!!!!!!'. Add that to the bunch of reasons why I <3 him.

7. I should do a ranty post about how easier is life here if your dad is a politician, but I don't want to rant in this perfectly random and awesome post. So that's probably for tomorrow or something.

8. Luau: I need to catch up with you. Expect another bunch of stuff this weekend when I'll also be alone in the house. And I can't even throw some party because I don't know enough people who aren't on vacation at the same time, what a pity. ;)

9. Thesis brainstorming is currently going meh. In the sense that I have a huge-ass Kant biography to read and then nothing else. I'll go talk to my supervisor again on Friday I guess. Also, working at the library is awesome except that apparently no one deems it necessary to buy pens when we're out of it at the welcoming desk and I ended up buying four myself. Italian university, this is so not good for you if students need to buy equipment worth 70 cents... *headdesk*

10. LJ's new tagging system wouldn't be bad, but why does it suggest me MY tags on COMMS? O__o'' I hope they fix that soon. Also because I can't remember half of my tags myself at times. Errr.

11. Anyway. It's one AM, this post is very random and in the next two days I hope I'll have more fic or at least something more interesting to say. It was mostly because of the postcards but hey, apparently I had some more random stuff to say. *waves*

1. I finished the [livejournal.com profile] scifibigbang #1. Yes. Two weeks later than the deadline, but I finished it. Argh. Now I need to finish #2 in like three days maximum but in this one I needed to figure plot out, in that one I don't. Which means it'll take a lot less. And my record was 10000 words in one day which means I'll try to re-do it. And then I can go doing my Christmas exchange fics (and thankfully two are already planned in my head) and then I can go and start doing things in time. Yes. That wouldn't be a bad idea.

2. Apparently, my master fic list doesn't fit into one post anymore. If I was able to do summaries without quoting from the actual fics then I wouldn't have the problem, but is seems like I'm not able. So sometime in the next week I'll probably split it in two and keep part I for Lost and part II for everything else, so if a random half of master fic list pops up on your fl next week just ignore it. ;)

3. I went to see The Men Who Stare At Goats and it's AWESOME. George Clooney + Ewan McGregor + pacifism + crack on a stick which actually is serious + goats + Boston = awesomeness. Now I need to go catch Public Enemies, Up and The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus. Sometime in the next two weeks I guess. Maybe when I finish the bigbang #2.

4. There will be a card post coming soon-ish. Either tonight or tomorrow.

5. I'm not going to throw another ton of Misha Collins fangirling on everyone again, but after the latest con I can only say two things. One, that he's so awesome that I can't even fathom. Two, that I want April to be tomorrow. Oh, and I need to add, this morning I spent twenty minutes or so staring at this. I'm sadly not lying. Misha, why, why so awesome? (and fine looking, I need to add?)

6. Aand, BOOK RECS! I have some stuff I've been reading in the last month and a half or so, but I wanted to finish a couple so I ended up doing the post just now.

Stephen King, Steve Earle, Neil Gaiman (again), Cheeta's autobiography, Michael Chabon (again) and maybe something else. Mostly short stories books. )

7. Also, I'm the only person who forgets when she DOESN'T have classes. Last Thursday I was sure I had one and I waited two hours after I finished the first before realizing that the professor said he was not going to be there this week. I mean. Not that I lost time or anything but... *sigh* though, next week I'll just have the pedagogy class one day and NOT ON FRIDAY! YAY! I'll manage to see the SPN ep in peace for once.

8. Okay, off answering comments and stuff I owe. Maybe after I'll re-post some ficlets, but I need to see if I'll still be awake. *waves*

And thanks to [livejournal.com profile] flying_colours for directing me there.

Stephen King is apparently writing another Dark Tower novel set in between books IV and V.

Be right back, FLAILING LIKE A MAD THING. SERIOUSLY. I'M FORGETTING I EVER HATED THE LAST PART OF THE LAST BOOK.

So. He publishes a book each year. If it's next year's one someone will hear my squeeing in Antarctica.

I MEAN, ANOTHER DT SET IN BETWEEN FOUR AND FIVE WHICH MEANS IT'S ALL MY FAVORITE PEOPLE. And MORE EDDIE DEAN IN MY LIFE WHEN I THOUGHT I WOULDN'T GET ANY MORE. And I miss them all and MY FOREVER SHIP, DAMMIT. My forever fandom, dammit. *sniff*

I'm currently a happy camper.

Sorry for the interruption. Back writing. I might actually accomplish something today if I keep on not being distracted by awesome news.

Jesus, YES.

Seems like I'm still obsessed with it as I was years ago. Well. Good for me.

It being reading King books at unholy hours. Because I made four AM again even when being perfectly conscious that Duma Key is no book that should keep me up until four AM. And American Gods was a whole other kind of read (and better than this one for sure) but well, not really complaining.

as the back cover said, a first class beach read. Mild spoilers? I'll try not to give too much away. )

Well, he still manages to draw me in.

So, thing is that today I went to a retrospective called Venice in Rome, where you basically go to see for a week movies that were at the Venice Film Festival without cuts and in original language. I went to see The Wrestler.

brief review of the movie and not so brief rant about dumb questionnaires from the production or whatever it is )

This said and completely unrelated to it, I used my bookshop points to get for free a new Chabon book (and it looks like a sort of 800ish adventure novel which makes me flail a lot), a novel from Neil Gaiman which I kinda took because I loved the Sandman comics and Stephen King's Duma Key just because it's in paperback and it's SK. I'm sure I'll like it until the half and then think that the ending sucks but I'm adjusted to that. I also know he'll kill whoever I like best, but I'm adjusted to that, too. And that'd be all I guess.

Lost question because I can't re-watch any of S2 right now and I can't find the information anywhere.. does anyone remember whether the regular hatch door (not the one they blew up, the back one) could be opened from the outside or from the inside only? It doesn't change what I'm planning with it either way but I just can't remember and if I have to write a bunny which shouldn't even exist I figure I can do it properly ;)

random stuff + some observations on King's 'The Stand' after sort of re-reading it not too scientifically five years after the first time )

This was kind of a productive week in terms of both book reading and finding out new music. So I thought that it was a good excuse to make some rec post.

haunted hotels, crazed serial killers and the gospel of the flying spaghetti monster )

Now on to the music! Beware, I'm in a half-country phase. Under the cut there is some Elvis Costello, some Steve Earle, quite some Johnny Cash, Emmylou Harris and something else could turn up.

country-rock music rules. )

Under the cut will follow a brief recap of my errands afternoon with also some Jack eyecandy thanks to Lost S4 being aired on the cable here in a while, but out of the cut because it has to be said.

I'm officially going to be under Roger Taylor's, Brian May's and Paul Rodger's stage on next Septembert 26th. I passed in a store where they sell concert tickets, I saw that they were already sold for the date they're playing here in Rome and since it wasn't really that much comparing it with Springsteen ticktets, I bought myself a ticket for the parterre. I mean, four months of Greek/Latin repetitions must be used wisely, right? If Roger sings anything and Brian sings 39 I'll probably be a weeping mess for a week but hey. I always say that everybody goes to Milan and no one comes here? Well, for once I'm so going!

And that was the first good news of the day. For the rest, cut. Oh, [livejournal.com profile] elliotsmelliot , the King party shall start soon because I found The Shining ;)

of books, scary Sawyer/Melville parallelisms, Jack's face appearing randomly on public transportation and so on )
