1. Exam #2 done *phew* now if only I didn't have another three to go one of which in a week... but whatever, I'll manage.

2. Meanwhile I'm taking tomorrow off. And finally catching up with fic, I hope.

3. That said, you know why Steve Earle is one of the most awesome beings on this planet? Because while I'm sure that his sales in this country are nil (or at least not far from that since regularly you can find just his first record and a greatest hits), he still tours here. Two dates for the new tour! And one is in Rome, still low price venue, and one that you can actually reach without taking a taxi! I'm so there, fuck yes. How awesome can he be? ♥

4. Shitload of memes because I need to distract myself, lol. This one tagged by [livejournal.com profile] velvetprose.

Using only song names from ONE ARTIST/BAND, cleverly answer these questions. Pass it on to 15 people whoever wants to. Try not to repeat a song title. It's a lot harder than you think.

that was hard )

5. Book meme from [livejournal.com profile] wandersfound.

1) What author do you own the most books by?
Uh, Stephen King. How many exactly... uh. *stands up and goes to count* 30.

under here )

6. Okay. Lost possible spoilers so I won't say anything and just send you where I saw that video and whatever, but if this REALLY happens next year I'm SO FORGIVING THEM A LOT OF CRAP. under here because I need to be explicit. )

7. Misha Collins' awesomeness is without-any-fucking-limit. And I don't think I've ever fangirled so badly someone as crazy, but that's just too good of a thing really. I mean. Maybe I shouldn't want to know how he actually did it, but I trust the shining force of his awesomeness.

8. I think I'm really done for now. I'll be answering comments and then I'll probably crash somewhere. *waves*

janie_tangerine: (3:10 to yuma - christian bale *_*)
Ok, as you already have guessed that I went to see 3:10 to Yuma.

GOSH WHAT A MOVIE.

That said, some news?

Mmmmh, news n1 I may have some sort of job. Well last year I gave some Greek and occasionally Latin repetitions to a girl at my school and it seems that my number has gone a long way because last day the mother of another girl who doesn't go to my ex-school called to ask me if I was willing to give repetitions again. So now tomorrow I'm going there and hope it works, because I wouldn't really mind some money coming and if I wanted to forget everything screw that, I'll just allow myself to forget maths XD

News n2 I don't know WHY did I ever choose the Rosseau course at university. Apart from the fact that the guy isn't a bad teacher but it's... well... just not too great either, I can't flash myself the Lost Rosseau everytime °_° and I can't ramble on how Rosseau's civilization theories actually have a sense if applied to Lost while I should be listening but that's a whole another matter.

And I think I'll be reading A tale of two cities next. I really want to finish a Dickens book. And that one's short, sort of, so I'll try again with that. Hoping I actually get through it. Blah, I want to like Dickens, really, but the most I did was half of the Pickwick papers, which I even was liking but... oh well, I'll finish everything, eventually.

Music speaking, I've got Warren Zevon's Mutineer on repeat. God what a genious and what a record. It never was one of my favourites but I'm definitely changing my charts because it's brilliant. And I think I've done my weekly-rambling-thing, for now XD

RIP Warren Zevon, 24/1/47 - 7/9/03

I'm not gonna do last year's post again because I'd be just repeating the same things over and over, so I'll just link to it here and I'll
just say again that more people should know his music (and I'll never stop posting it around whenever I have the occasion) and that music misses him.

First thing:

Warren Zevon
Preludes: Rare and Unreleased Recordings
In Stores May 1, 2007
Details: A 2-CD set in deluxe packaging 16 unreleased songs along with a 44-page booklet comprised of never before seen family photos and excerpts from the forthcoming memoir, I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead: The Dirty Life and Times of Warren Zevon

I AM OFFICIALLY DYING. SIXTEEN WZ NEW TRACKS. OMFG Jordan Zevon you're my hero. This is so mine when it's out.

Second thing:

Make yourself a favour and spend some money on this or at least download it someway. I got it yesterday also if it was supposed to be out on the 24th, I don't know why it was out already, but it's just amazing. The more I listen to it the more I absolutely love this woman. Flea playing bass on White Rabbit and Gimme Shelter is pure love, but.... daaaamn everything here is... check out the Smells like teen spirits cover because it's something wonderful. And I'm not talking about the Neil Young cover and the Bob Dylan one. And now I'll finally study something I guess XD

(and I've got Continuum too. John Mayer -> ♥ ♥ ♥)

Right, I should be studying right now. But really. What makes me desire to translate half a page of latin talking about Romans invading some country inhabitated by some Marsic population? Tacitus I'm kind of hating you right now =.=

Ok, I'm on a Warren Zevon roll these days. Guess it's because I found the last two records I didn't have. And well... one of those was the envoy. On which there is a song called, not so surprisingly, The envoy. Lyrics following.

Nuclear arms in the Middle East
Israel is attacking the Iraqis
The Syrians are mad at the Lebanese
And Baghdad does whatever she please
Looks like another threat to world peace
For the envoy
Things got hot in El Salvador
CIA got caught and couldn't do no more
He's got diplomatic immunity
He's got a lethal weapon that nobody sees
Looks like another threat to world peace
For the envoy
Send the envoy
Send the envoy
Whenever there's a crisis
The President sends his envoy in
Guns in Damascus
Oh, Jerusalem
Nuclear arms in the Middle East
Israel is attacking the Iraqis
The Syrians are mad at the Lebanese
And Baghdad do whatever she please
Looks like another threat to world peace
For the envoy
Send the envoy . . .
Send for me

This was written in 1981. The more I read it the more it feels like he did this last month and it's creeping me, to say the truth. Music misses this man, really.

And... is someone teaching me how to cope with idiot driving teachers? I mean how am I supposed to learn if the guy who teaches me is so sure that I smoke pot that he even asks if I do to a friend of mine who took also lessons with him? O___O (and no, I don't smoke. Anything O_O) And will I ever learn to drive in the end? -.-

Ok, ok, I'm studying. Tacitus here I come....
