Alright, vacation with friends is over and I'm alone in the city again, with a heat that raised up at least three grades in the last week. *sigh* Right, it's August and I'm in Italy and it happens every time, so I should be expecting that and I was but argh, it's becoming unbearable this round. I just hope it cools off a bit soon.

On other news, I'll be off with my parents for ten days from the 10th. Not too far since we're going to Pesaro, which is a city a couple of driving hours from here, in order to see the opera. Well, it was where Rossini was from and since each year in August for one week or so they perform some operas at a festival with usually very good casts and I have been asking for years to spend my birthday there for once instead of my grandmother's small town where I always end up I'm kind of squeeing. We're also staying at some friends of my mother's house for the duration and it sounds pretty awesome. I don't know if I'll manage to check the e-mail and the flist (if my mother's laptop has reception and if she lets me near it, that'd be), but I guess I'll find an internet point in town at one point. The only thing is that I'll have to work on that paper I've been delaying working on since May but alas, nothing can be all good.

And God, catching up with the luau is crazy. I had 60 posts bookmarked and I'm quite pleased to say that between yesterday and today I shortened the list at 30 and I plan to shorten it further this evening. It's kind of making me go into fic overload but I don't think I could try it after ten days out *phew*. And I need to catch up with the writing, too, but that actually scares me less.

Also, I rounded up the result of me + friends + record shops for two weeks. I got myself the first Dire Straits record, Lucinda Williams' Car Wheels on a Gravel Road and West, Carole King's Tapestry (I never heard her to be honest, but it was on discount and wanted to check her for a while) and a delightfully luxurious version of Steve Earle's Copperhead Road that is a joy to look at (and that I never thought would find in a record store here. Well, usually you don't find 3/4 of his records here...). Also, one in which I was in at some point was playing Guitar Town and listening to Steve Earle in a regular record shop kind of made me squee quite some, but that's me and being obsessed.

I also saw The Dark Knight and I loved it, even if my favorite Batman still is the second Burton one. It wasn't even too badly dubbed, even if I'm thinking that I might go see it again in a place where they give it without subtitles -nods-. I think the acting from every one was stellar and Heath Ledger's performance was astonishing. With Gary Oldman coming as my second favorite ;) Christian Bale was a sure thing, I mean, he rarely lets me down, while Maybelline New York just proved himself to be immortal in each thing he's in. And I just wished Rachel was still Katie Holmes because while I can't care less for the character she was much better played by Maggie Gyllenhaal. Oh, jumping on the Aaron Eckhart is awesomeness train too ;) I'll admit that in the Nolan movies I'm not digging all the tecnhology and explanation stuff much (the cellphones thing was kind of far off with me but whatever, it's superheroes, I'm taking it as it is) and that's mostly why it didn't top Returns with me, but nonetheless, I loved the movie.

On an off note, since the first friend over here is starting to watch Supernatural I re-watched all of S2 and uhm, yeah, just one thing: Ash needs not to be dead. I don't know how but he needs not to be dead, and Ellen needs to be back next season. Also, they need to go back to that photography because it's a million times better than the S3 one -nod-.

And now I'm done with blathering and off to keep on catching up. And maybe writing a bit, after.

Woo! GO you in catching up! I'm nowhere near even trying to read them all - I make it easy on myself and only read the slash! And I know I won't get much more writing done, but I do have one for you at beta right now, and I'm hoping to maybe do one or two others... perhaps! ;-)

When you say records, do you seriously mean records, or are we talking cds? If you like women singer-song writers, you should love the Carole King! And yay for Steve Earle! I must seriously get some of his stuff too. So many artists, so little money!

I talk cds, even if I'd rather buy vinyls. I'd love being able to buy those, but I don't have a player. So cds ;) and I'm so definitely checking out Carole King as soon as I get out the Lucinda Williams phase. Steve Earle is the most awesome thing ever. And I don't have as many cds of the guy as I'd like but here you don't really find many *sigh*.

I was at a music store last week and they had a bunch of Copperhead Road CD on a wall for $5.99. I thought of you (and Bubs)!

Other than what was posted today, I think I've finally caught up on the luau in terms of reading but I have one more story to write for Zelda. Unlike you I couldn't handle writing for all the Queens, as I am just barely coping with the ones I did do!

When I saw Maybelline New York in Batman, I was like, no worries. The Joker can't kill him. He's immortal!

Since I'm returning the day you're leaving, I'll say good-bye and Happy Birthday now.

Yeah, as long as something new doesn't turn up I'll be seeing three. This (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ermione), this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maometto_II) and this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/L%27equivoco_stravagante). I don't know the last one but if I manage to buy it before fine, if I don't I trust the music to be good anyway ;) The first one is a good one while the second is some of the best he wrote, even if it's kind of not mentioned anywhere.

Oh, so many Copperhead Roads are a very delightful vision! And I need to watch some Wire before going -nods-. I need to write Zelda's story, too, and there are at least another couple I'd like to get done, but I'll see.

Ha, was the same for me with Maybelline! Though watching him dubbed was so strange. I couldn't place the voice and I think I need to watch it in original, I so do.

Happy birthday to you too in advance then! Though I hope to have something up for you when you come back, if I manage. But I should, if everything goes to plan.

I have two ideas actually. I don't know which one I'll go for but I think they might be suited ;)

I hope to at least finish 2 and start 3. The former should be doable, the latter I don't know. And dubbing is evil, if only the friend I had with me understood English enough to see a movie without subtitles.. I'd have gone there in the first place but no such luck. I hate dubbing. And thanks, I'll sure enjoy my opera time! ;)

I liked Dark Knight also. I was shocked that *cough! cough!* was killed off. I like Maggie Gyllenhaal sooo much better too. But yeah, Heath Ledger's Joker stole the show and Gary Oldman was great in everyman!hero mode. I may be the only person on LJ who feels very 'Meh?' about this Maybelline man.

Maggie surely can act MUCH better than that other one. Who was actually the main reason for which the first Nolan Batman ranks below both of the Burton movies while this one is probably my second favorite. Heath Ledger was so stealing the show indeed, and Gary Oldman is one of my favorite actors so I just might be biased, but he plays Gordon so well. And well, Maybelline probably isn't the best thing ever but I enjoy the character a lot and I find him pretty interesting. Also, I love his eyelashes, but that's taste ;)

It's very hot in Spain these days, too. I guess it's the damn Mediterranian weather. I spend the whole time sitting in front of the fan and drinking water. If I could, I'd live in the tub with cold water in it.

Oh Janie, poor thing. Its hot here too. I live in the South, so its hot. Today we play mini golf and I was soaked at the end, and so was my friend, and it was in the shade. It was almost 100! When I go away to Universty(the second uni I am going to)my building will have no ac. Gasp. Guess I need lots of fans! Wow, so where did you go with your friends? Are you uberrich? You always traveling. : ) Buying Cds, going to Concerts. Is Pesso in the Italian Rivera, or around south Italy Like Capri. Those are my favorites places in Italy, besides my favorite city which is Venice. Ok, and on the Supernatural note, some good news and bad news. I was reading the supernatural Magazine today, and it said, Ash may not be dead, that all that was found was a charred hand, so he may return. so kudos. I want Ellen back too, but where the heck is Joe? Andy was kinda creepy and got on my nerves. I say bring back Ruby, but its confirmed shes done. Also seeing theier dad again whould be nice, hes really hot. Hes Irish too. In season 4 its gonna focus a lot on the brothers relationship, and less on action, as thier buget is very limited. We were get a black and white ep, ala the old classic horror movies. We also will see Mary this year, and find out more about her. Theres gonna be a demon war, but more off screen, and Dean is gonna climb out Carrie Style from the grave to get out. Ok, so thats all I really know, but hopefully they will do a good job. I also saw the Lost Magazine and they have a lot of pictures of Desmond/Sayid and talk about the frieghter a lot. Hmmmmmm. The glossy pic of the pic at desmond/sayid is full color. Lets just say people in the store were stareing cause I drooled on the magazine and was gushing to my friend, who never watchs Lost. Ok, well this post is pretty long, so hope you have fun.

I echo on the fans. I actually keep mine always on, I can't do otherwise. And no, I'm not uberrich. My friends were here at my house and now I'm going with my parents in a place that they're lending them, so.. ;) Pesaro is in the center of Italy, more on the Adriatic side.

I'd trade Ruby willingly if it means for Ash to be back -nods- and Dean climbing up from hell looks awesome. I mean, who the hell else could? ;)

as for TDK, I giggled when I saw Maybelline. It all comes back to Lost, somehow ;) I adored Heath and Aaron, although CB leaved me pretty cold (they should have had him undress or something? yeah. ;) )

Ha, Lost ruins everything for me at this point. Maybelline especially was so much of a blast to see! I wouldn't have minded some naked Christian indeed ;) and he didn't make that much for me too to be honest, but I blame it on the dubber. He was the only atrocious one :/

I so want Ash back! He was totally my favorite apart from the Winchester triad and I'd SO love if he could resurrect or something :( *crosses with you*

Dubbing is the source of half of the evils in the world. How a better place it'd be if they just eliminated it... *grabs knife and stabs dubbing with you* thankfully the one that dubbed Heath here wasn't anything like the original but at least made a pretty good job, but the rest apart from Harvey Dent was pitiful. I soo hate that.

Woah, Ash/Jo? Whoever can make that work has my admiration. Though since of the few Ash fic I managed to find a couple were Ash/Dean and the others Ash/Andy I figure that he lends himself to weird pairings ;) ah, I miss him so. :(
