And thanks to
flying_colours for directing me there.
Stephen King is apparently writing another Dark Tower novel set in between books IV and V.
Be right back, FLAILING LIKE A MAD THING. SERIOUSLY. I'M FORGETTING I EVER HATED THE LAST PART OF THE LAST BOOK.
So. He publishes a book each year. If it's next year's one someone will hear my squeeing in Antarctica.
I MEAN, ANOTHER DT SET IN BETWEEN FOUR AND FIVE WHICH MEANS IT'S ALL MY FAVORITE PEOPLE. And MORE EDDIE DEAN IN MY LIFE WHEN I THOUGHT I WOULDN'T GET ANY MORE. And I miss them all and MY FOREVER SHIP, DAMMIT. My forever fandom, dammit. *sniff*
I'm currently a happy camper.
Sorry for the interruption. Back writing. I might actually accomplish something today if I keep on not being distracted by awesome news.
Jesus, YES.
Seems like I'm still obsessed with it as I was years ago. Well. Good for me.

Date: 2009-11-11 07:11 pm (UTC)And I'm so glad it's set between 4 & 5! The period between The Waste Lands and the end of Wolves of the Calla is my favorite of the timeline.
Seriously, MOST AWESOME NEWS ever! You've just made my night! :D

Date: 2009-11-11 07:17 pm (UTC)That's SO my favorite timeline too. Ha, well, I love II too actually but that frame, dammit. AND IT MEANS MORE EDDIE! Yeah, well, my mind has just one track apparently. ;) ;) <3333

Date: 2009-11-11 10:06 pm (UTC)I hated Wolves of Calla (or whatever the original title is), but I loved so much the 4th one, I'm hurting myself right now for HOW MUCH I WANT TO READ IT. FUCK.
AND EDDIE AND SUSAN AND JAKE I LOVE THEM ALL SO MUCH OMG.
no subject
Date: 2009-11-11 11:12 pm (UTC)I kind of liked them all except the last half of the last book but OH GOD THE 4TH IT WAS SO GOOD. EVEN IF MY FAVORITE IS THE THIRD. <3333

Date: 2009-11-11 11:47 pm (UTC)And the second book was super awesome because of the doors, and the creepy woman of the many personalities that merged into Susan and Eddie fucking Dean which is a MONSTER OF PATHETIC NEEDY AWESOMENESS and I think if I had known what slash was when I read DT the first time I would have slashed Roland/Eddie like WOA.
And the 3th book was the one with the Mono and the riddles and the vectors' guardians (I think) and Eddie's development and it was SO cool I'm getting goosebumps.
And then obviously the 4th was the one with the flashbacks and Cort and David (the hawk) and the chilling fight, and Roland who isn't good at solving riddles because his mind is too direct and slow but relentless and STUFF OMG I'M SORRY I KNOW THESE BOOKS ALL BY HEART. *weeping in joy*

Date: 2009-11-12 12:05 am (UTC)The Jake & Roland relationship is so beautiful. I loved them in that. AND THE SPEECH AT THE END, YESSS. GOD I LOVE THAT BOOK.
And ha. Hi. Meet the girl with the most utter pathetic and needy crush on Eddie that could be. That guy is my favorite literary character in existence, I have so much love for him seriously.
I had known what slash was when I read DT the first time I would have slashed Roland/Eddie like WOA.
THAT'S MY OTP OF OTPS. *HIGH FIVE*
The third book is SO MY FAVORITE ONE. I LOVE THAT FIERCELY OH MY. And yeah it was the one with the vectors' guardian and the Mono and just it was so good AND THE FOURTH'S FLASHBACKS YES. And Cuthbert. And Alain. Arrrgh I LOVE THEM SO FUCKING MUCH. <3333333333333333333

Date: 2009-11-12 12:14 am (UTC)But god, that series is a masterpiece, and leaking stuff on all SK's other books, and it's so awesome that I think I'll need to reread all of it.
I think my main crush was on Roland, because come on...it was like reading a book with young Clint Eastwood, SO COOL. And then there was Eddie and his weird loyalty to the gunslinger, and the bickering and the teaching and the fights, oh god it was epic.
Best characters EVER, all of them.
PS: I might have flailed on my lj about that D/C fusion, do you mind? :/ Maybe someone else will write it for us, while we are waiting for YOU to write it too? I'm the only one that isn't supposed to do anything but WAIT here, my life is easy and hard at the same time :P

AND I SO AMO TOO. Really, DT people are so few. Which is a pity because it's just awesome. :///
And yeah, that. I need to re-read it too even if I kind of know at least two and three by hear. I ♥ it so much, dammit.
And ha, Roland is AWESOME. Actually I love Clint so in theory he should have been my favorite, but then Eddie came by and I was like 'OMG I LOVE YOU' ten pages after he appeared, lol. And they were so awesome together. And my otp. *sigh* ;)

Date: 2009-11-11 11:54 pm (UTC)PS: btw, I'm probably one of those rare people that enjoyed the last book, i thought the ending was basically the only thing I could have accepted. Even if yeah, the last three books were way less inspired than the first 4 imo.

Date: 2009-11-12 12:02 am (UTC)Well, I didn't exactly dislike the last book. My issue was mainly with the ending because a) the whole Crimson King was WTF imo and b) Susannah getting the happy-sort-of-ending with the non-Eddie pissed me off. Mostly because he had told her he was going to wait for her and.. er. That. *headdesk* But overall I can't say I completely hated it. ;) I can safely say I loved the first half. Though yeah, the last three were def. less inspired.
