Did I say I was going to make a related post? Well, I'm making a related post. Under the cut you shall find all of my SE favorite stuff. Which means quite some music.

Before he went to jail/the recovering

Dividing into timelines because there's a difference in style anyways, though here there are waay less than part #2. I like him better after lol.

1. My Old Friend The Blues -> this is terrific. Really. Slow, very good lyrics and very, well, blues.
2. Someday -> this way more up beat and another great one. Though I like him better when he gets social. See down for details.
3. Copperhead Road -> this is about a Vietnam survivor. Terrific lyrics, indeed.
4. The Devil's Right Hand -> this is the version he re-did I think for the Brokeback Mountain soundtrack. The original one was on the same record as Copperhead Road and was also good but this one IMHO > the old one.
5. I Ain't Ever Satisfied -> I really love this one. And I'm so planning on ficcing something Sawyer with it. But however, it's from 1987 or so but I uploaded a 1998 live version. Why? Two reasons. 1) He sings better now and live is better anyway; 2) Bruce Springsteen is doing back vocals on it and he's teh awesome. *draws hearts*

After the jail/recovering

6. Goodbye -> one of the most wrenching love songs I ever heard. i love it. Both by him and by Emmylou Harris. When I manage to download them both singing it...
7. I Remember You -> This is actually a duet with Emmylou Harris. Love them both. And a good song, to.
8. Coming Around -> See point #7.
9. Jerusalem -> my second favorite song of his. Did I say I love him when he gets social? Well, here he gets social and it's just beautiful. It's probably got two or three of my favorite lines of his. The music also is great.
10. John Walker's Blues -> talk about social. This is from the POV of that American guy who went with the Talibans after 9/11. And it's absolutely not pro said guy. I think it's chilling. And really good.
11. Over Yonder -> This one, I think it's for a man he met in prison who later was sentenced to death. Apart from the fact that it's gorgeous I don't know what else could I say about it. And going on with the record it was from..
12. Trascendental Blues -> okay. One of my favorites of his ever. I love it. Everything about it. Music, lyrics, the way he sings it.
13. Lonelier Than This -> aaawww. This is so sad but so good. Really so good.
14. The Boy Who Never Cried -> this has something to it I can't define, but it grabs you.
15. The Galway Girl -> my first song of his in which I knew it was him singing. Up beat, lovely lyrics, lovely music and meh, it makes me happy.
16. Mercenary Song -> not his best ever but I kinda like it.
17. Breed -> yes. Nirvana cover. It's just awesome to hear him of everyone singing Nirvana ;) and now going with his last record...
18.  Down Here Below -> My personal favorite. I love how it's half told-half sung and the Bob Dylan lyrics. Awesome.
19. Sparkle and Shine -> If he wrote it for his wife, she has to be one of the luckiest wives ever, IMHO.
20. Come Home To Me -> It just makes me gush. All over.
21. Steve's Hammer -> well, inspired by Pete Seeger. It's awesome. I totally love it. It and Pete Seeger.
22. Oxycontin Blues -> go with punch-in-the-gut lyrics...
23. Jericho Road -> you've got to love the rythm at least.
24. Way Down in the Hole -> Tom Waits cover, which I'm confirmed was on The Wire. Kinda awesome.
25. Days Aren't Long Enough -> duet with his wife. Aaaw. You can feel how they're into each other. Lovely.
26. Poison Lovers -> this isn't from the last record, I'm through with that ;) another duet with a singer I can't remember the name of but it's really good. And to end, let's go with my favorite record. Which would be I Feel Alright.
27. I Feel Alright -> really nice. And self explanatory.
28. Hard Core Troubadour -> well, they nickname him after this, there's got to be a reason right?
29. Valentine's Day -> this just... it's so sad and yet so delicate.
30. Now She's Gone -> I think he said he wrote it for the same girl he wrote Goodbye for. Well, relationship ended but if he didn't write good songs about it...
31. You're Still Standing There -> Which, to end in glory, has to be my favorite song of his overall. Duet with Lucinda Williams and damn if it's good. They're just... their voices really complement each other, I love the lyrics something fierce (it's up in my header for something..), that line which says your memory cannot keep me warm but it never leaves me cold is planted into my brain and well... I just love it to pieces.

Okay. I've done my job. All up for grabs ;)
