1) First: happy birthday [livejournal.com profile] cassiopeia7! :DDD I hope you're having an awesome day, that you get a lot of books for gifts none of which by Jane Austen and that you get spoiled with as much cake as you'd like ♥

2) Then: there are two tv-related things I'll talk about in this post. Vampire porn: okay listen this season doesn't seem like the epitome of coherent plot to me, but the Originals-related spin-off made it look like old school HBO in comparison. I'm not even going to bother with spoiler cutting, but I've never seen anything more ridiculous in my entire life. Okay, Ringer was probably as bad if not worse in certain points, but hahahahaha no. Considering that I really don't care about Klaus regardless I'm... not watching it. Nope. Sticking with the good old vampire porn, thanks.

3) Thankfully Supernatural was the total opposite instead (meaning, I loved the shit out of it).

a) Dear show, stay like this forever, thanks.

b) With that out of the way: can we keep Charlie forever? Please? She makes a great addition tbh, and I'm very very pleased that they gave her a backstory and made it so that she could be around a lot more next season. Woman of letters? I like. Also her relationship with Dean is a thing of beauty and seriously *cries* the last ten minutes completely drained me emotionally D: in the good way though.

c) Dean and Charlie shopping was the cutest ever. Also: CASTIEL IS DREAMY. Aha. Said by someone not interested in dudes who knows about him from books written in Dean's POV, Dean doesn't deny it and looks also still pretty hurt over Cas being MIA again? Okay show. I vote that these two become at least platonic life partners because there's no way this is there just because they have to fill the time with some nice one-liners. Not when they've been doing the same kind of thing all season. (Also Charlie and the FBI badge! MY SECOND-FAVORITE EPISODE! *sigh*)

d) DEAN AND CHARLIE TOTALLY HAVING THE LOVELIEST BOND EVER I JUST - I DIED THROUGHOUT THIS ENTIRE THING. I'm totally down with her being the little sister he never knew he wanted. And just - they get each other and they geek out together and THE STAR WARS REFERENCE WITH DEAN TOTALLY CATCHING IT and sorry can I just flail a bit here? I want Dean to have good friendships and this one is totally working perfectly for me. now just bring Benny back okay

e) SAM D: gosh can I just hug you? ALso congratulations, in your place I'd have totally crashed at home. But then again that's why I'm not Sam Winchester. I'm not overtly worried about the lasting consequences of whatever is happening to him since they've all been through worse, but SAM ;___________; *cries* also can I just go :DDD at how much he was drooling over Charlie's Ipad or whatever it was?

f) Also I generally want to say that I approve of all the hugs that are happening this season. A+ on moving away from too much emotional constipation, show. Did I say that I love Dean this season? Because I love Dean this season. Also the general plot was pretty cool and I kind of liked that the lady djinn wasn't exactly the culpable - yes, I'm still for the not-totes-black-and-white monster over the overtly evil one.

g) Aaand oh dear I don't have more interesting stuff to share I fear, since there wasn't the myth arc going on (mostly) but I just really liked everything. Did I say that I love this season? No? Because I'm saying it again - I am. It's nowhere near flawless but I like how they're straightening out things from the last two and going on a new way and tbh I like that both Dean and Sam seem on the way to become slightly healthier/more functional human beings and that NEW PEOPLE ARE HAPPENING AND THEY'RE ACTUALLY PRETTY GREAT. I like everything, yesss. And I can't wait for the last three episodes, everything looks oh so very exciting :D last year I wasn't half as happy, that's for sure..

4) Also, a meme from the aforementioned birthday girl in point one. :D

Basically, you give someone an age and they fill out the meme for where they were and what they were doing. If you want to join in, comment and give me a ballpark figure for how old you are now, or a decade of your life for me to choose from, and I will select an age for you. She gave me 17. :)

I LIVED in Rome with my parents in the exact same place I'm living in now - yeah, yeah, I know, but try living in a country where students don't get any kind of incentive or free housing or the likes. But my room wasn't as littered with books as it is now, mostly because I still hadn't ran out of space.

I DROVE... I didn't drive, because here you get your license at eighteen, but since we're close and I got the license the following year anyway... if I drive I use my mom's car which is a lovely azure Honda Jazz with the automatic shift and gosh automatic is the most glorious thing ever. I highly doubt I'll ever buy a car because there are a few things I dislike more than driving, but if it happens I'm never ever getting the manual. (I got the license while driving a manual and I wanted to punch the stick Hulk-style most times.)

I WAS IN A RELATIONSHIP WITH... I wasn't in a relationship, if you don't count my one-sided love affair with Stephen King's novels. And good for me because all the men I knew were people I could be friends but never in a relationship. BUT, all my friends were in relationships and I swear I had like four people asking *me* for relationship advice and I wanted to cry in frustration at them every time - like, why the fuck would you ask *me*, but apparently I wasn't too bad at it. All right.

I FEARED... probably the thing I feared most was my maths homework, lol. (Well, that was the year when I couldn't go past the equivalent of an E in maths stuff even if I tried but then again there was a reason why I picked a school where you studied fucking dead languages. WHICH WAS LESS MATH THAN THE REST.) And human bodies/bones/mummies. That one's still valid.

I WORKED... I went to high school, it was my second-to-last year. Basically it was a humanities-centered type were you basically studied Latin and Greek and related shit, which I loved, even if that year had the Worst Math Ever (or: I never was good at maths but that year was all the Cartesian coordinates system and I swear I never-fucking-understood how it works, or better, technically I did but I always got the damn things wrong so I basically spent a year getting crap marks in written tests and desperately trying to be better in oral tests). Also, uhm, all right, that year my love affair with Kant started (damn him) aaaand oh right I also spent half of my time writing rock band RPS fanfiction and handing it over to my bff who was in the desk behind me and did speed beta reading for me on the spot. If you all want to know, it started with Led Zeppelin and it evolved with yours truly writing fucking novels on Guns n' Roses, and the funny thing was that the ship I wrote most was Izzy/Axl and I cordially do not like Axl Rose (usually). Aaaand oh right yeah at some point we went on our first school trip in four years (because our class sucked and no one wanted to bring us) and we went to Berlin IN MID-FEBRUARY PEOPLE I'D JUST LIKE TO STATE HOW SMART WERE THE PEOPLE IN MY CLASS WHO VOTED FOR *BERLIN* IN FEBRUARY RATHER THAN BARCELONA, and I spent 60% of the money I brought in this huge record shop near the hotel. Like I bought 4/5ths of the Stone Temple Pilots discography and a Led Zeppelin vinyl that was all written in russian and was like some kind of contraband bootleg that probably belonged to the time when East and West Berlin were still a thing. Also during that trip there were almost-breakups and a bunch of gossip and when I came back I had an headache for two days. BUT I HAD A LOT OF RECORDS OKAY. But believe me, I actually did study, in between the novels of fanfic. (It was in Italian, btw. I'm not entirely sure of how good it was.)

5. Also: Patti Smith might be going towards seventy but you totally don't notice it. No seriously if when I'm her age I'm 5% as cool as she is I'll take it. (Yes, I went to concert number six. I think she's officially the person I've seen live most. <3)

Related to that: when I went to buy the tickets, I also ran into a horde of Justin Bieber fans. It was... uuuh. An interesting experience. Basically the concert was at this huge complex where usually you have classical music concerts but occasionally has rock/modern music too, and they also have a decent record shop. Also since it's important in modern architecture terms some schools organize tours there. So I was checking the records after buying my ticket when this I think middle school kids that were there on a school trip get into the shop. Seven people at once almost crash into me because they all threw themselves over the letter B (I was checking the letter E) and start going through record like locusts, until finally one of them comes out with the prize - aka some Bieber cd. All right. First she's all squealing, then her friends go like NOOO OMG ARE THERE OTHERS and they all throw themselves on the pile. They obviously all found the cds, it's not like Bieber is some extremely rare thing. Someone started kissing the cd all over, one girl's hands were positively shaking and she dropped it like ten times and they were all seriously squeeing like crazy. Then they assaulted the One Direction section. Meanwhile, someone in that class who apparently had some class was drooling over a Doors best of and like no one else knew who they were. Then someone randomly went like 'what's this, Metallica? EWWWW', at which I was about to start crying (and I usually don't like Metallica, oops). One of their male friends happily informed everyone that OMG THERE WAS THE DVD FOR BREAKING DOWN PART II OUT! and at that point I was about to start weeping for humanity. I was also feeling ridiculously old, but... seriously, do kids these days even buy cds? Like, I've been buying records since I was like eleven and the only time my hands legitimately started shaking was when I found at a pretty good price this pretty rare special edition of my favorite record ever which had been out in relatively few copies in like '96, and yes I kind of went to the check-out holding it to my chest and being like NO ONE BUT ME BUYS THIS, but it was a limited special edition that was hard to find in fucking '96, not THE LAST JUSTIN BIEBER CD. The hell.

Then I read those news about the kid going to Anne Frank's house and saying that he's sure she'd have been a fan of his and his fans reacting with 'who's this Anne Frank and why is Justin going to HER house and not to mine' and I decided that it's a lost generation. I'm re-evaluating mine.

6) I've also seen IM3! :D even if I still haven't seen the second. I'm a horrible fan. Whatever. No spoilers because seriously I watch those movies mostly for fun and I don't really have anything deep to say, but it was a good movie, I had a lot of fun, at least I caught it in English and the post-credits scene completely killed me in all the good ways. Anyone who's seen it knows what I mean. And if you know how I tick then you probably guessed why I've been all like THE POST-CREDITS SCENE since yesterday. Also if someone had told me that I'd go watch RDJ being Iron Man when I was dying over him when he was in Ally McBeal I'm not sure I'd have bought it, but it's all good. NOW SOMEONE PLEASE GIVE ME THE CAPTAIN AMERICA SEQUEL THANK YOU I need that certain character back in my life.

7) Steve Earle's new record is beyond excellent. <3 Yes, this deserved a point for itself.

8) Also, I bought cookie stamps and I made Stark and Tully cookies. I figured I'd share because I'm very pleased with the result xD

Also, Alfie Allen needs to stop being fucking adorable and making me die over his stupid face. There, I said it.

9) Aaand that's all I have for now. I'll probably go crash before I look at the clock and realize that it's 2 AM again. (The joys of never going to bed at reasonable times...)

Seconds you for Dean and Charlie being platonic life partners. There is just something about them together that makes me squee in a very brotp way. Charlie is just the friend Dean needs to embrace his inner geek (just as Benny was the friend he needed to embrace his warrior side) and, in a way, to help him recover from the trauma that was Hell and Purgatory (which, if you think about it, he's never gotten a chance to do, what with the Apocalypse/Godstiel/Leviathans to worry about) and finally accept himself for who he is.

I so agree. If the show could stay like this forever.... I'd be one happy fangirl. The only episode I've not wholeheartedly liked is "As Time Goes By" (as I think I've mentioned before). But other than that, the writing has been extremely solid. I don't think I've enjoyed the series this much since S4.....

::generally flails in agreement::

Ikr? Do want. So much. They should just have the brother/sister thing going on forever and go to cons together for the rest of eternity, can I have it? Please? This thing with Dean accepting himself AT LAST is making me so happy, seriously.

Yeah same - well, I did like ATGB but really there wasn't an episode this year that made me want to shake my head in frustration or anything like that, so if they keep on like this I'll be extra delighted :D (and I don't think I've enjoyed it this much since S5, though I really*really* enjoyed some parts of S6 - I mean Frontierland should be my favorite episode ever just based on squee levels, so I can't say much, but I generally didn't like the show as much as I am right now in a long time SO I LIKE THIS ALL VERY MUCH)

Well, I didn't discover SPN until October of last year, when I mainlined all then-available episodes in a period of 2 weeks. I couldn't put S4 down - I mainlined it in 18 hours flat - but I agree with you on S5. And parts of S6 were really good, I agree. I think if the writers had given parts of it a little more attention, it would have been brilliant. It had such potential, and while I dislike certain parts of it, the overall storyline was brilliant.

And YES. Dean and Charlie as a fangirl-ing, con-going, LARP-ing brotp forever. And ever. And ever.

S4 is still my overall favorite so I totally get it :D especially if you watched all in a row - my times of watching in a row sadly ended at... I think 3x08, it was the last one aired when I was catching up with it. ;) that said I thought that S5 was generally very good even if apparently it's not an extremely popular opinion, while S6 was half very good while half bored me to death.. but it still was better than S7, which I think just generally bored me with the exception of... maybe six episodes, so I'm totally good with how it's going right now.

I KNOW. I need all the fic where they go as Han and Leia and coax Cas into dressing like Obi-Wan or something ;)

Date: 2013-04-29 04:40 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] aadarshinah.livejournal.com
people don't like S5? Enough for it to be an unpopular opinion? That's ridiculousness. I loved the Michael/Lucifer storyline and parallels, and have always kinda wished that they did more with that. (And some of my favourite fics are where we find out Dean is fallen!Michael, like Anna was). I agree wholeheartedly on S6... but S7 I generally enjoyed, even if I understand where you're coming from. I think it's a season that has to be taken as a whole, with the individual episodes kinda blending into the background. Not seeing the trees for the forest, if that makes any sense.

If you find a fic like that, I think I might die of squee.

dunno? when it was on back then the opinion wasn't generally enthusiastic from the first half downwards (never got why), the old guard was all like UGH THIS APOCALYPSE THING WE WANT BACK THE MONSTER OF THE WEEK EPISODES WHYYYY, then there were people on the Cas side who complained about supposed characterization issues which I never even saw and then people got split on the season finale because half loved it and half loathed it, and in retrospective (now) when people talk about S5 are all like 'could have been better', but I thought it was awesome - actually it's my third-favorite after 4 and 2 so I never really got why a lot of people are... lukewarm towards it? And basically my problem with S7 is that for me it felt 90% like 'let's try to re-do S1/S2/S3' except that it really wasn't working for me, so I was.. mostly bored (and the episodes I actually liked were the 40s one and the ones with Cas/Bobby, which probably shows that I like this show better when there are more supportings)? It wasn't overall *terrible* and I really liked the ending, but watching it week after week it totally failed to impress me most times. But it's totally my issue though ;)

... well, I did write a comment fic once where Dean and Cas went to comicon dressed as SW people but it was a complete AU and there wasn't Charlie (because Charlie didn't exist in the show yet, oops), if you're interested I can hand it over. ;) but IF I DO FIND ONE WITH CHARLIE I'LL BE SURE TO SHARE *nodnod*

Don't get me wrong, monster of the week episodes can be good, but I love plot. I prefer plot. I love long, overarching story lines and multipart episodes and things that don't make sense until you've seen the whole season. It's part of why I loved S4 and S5 (and even parts of S6) so much. Admittedly, the very end of "Swan Song" isn't my favourite, but it's still a decent episode. (Though I'll admit to liking the S4 and S6 finales better.)

I know what you mean about S7. They were trying to make the monster of the week-ers happy and have mytharcs, which didn't work out too well, but, yeah, whenever they had supporting cast it definitely got better. Mostly, though, I enjoyed it for the character development, which, while admittedly not ideal, was better than it could have been.

:D That would be great bb. I'd love to see Cas' take on LARPing. Especially if he shows up unannounced at a con they're already at and people think he's LARPing as himself, and so he has to ask why all these strangely dressed people know who he is.... And I'm not even sure that last sentence made sense at all.

Date: 2013-04-29 05:31 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] janie-tangerine.livejournal.com
Nah I like them too but I like plot better and tbh I think that MOTW worked good in S1/2/3 but then they went on a bigger scale and they can't exactly go back to that like nothing had happened D: Swan Song isn't my favorite finale either tbh I don't think it was horrible or anything. :/

Yep exactly, that 100%. It wasn't *bad* per se, but they were trying too hard to please both sides and didn't do it too well in the first place.

okay so there is the SW one (http://ienablu.livejournal.com/135294.html?thread=122494), I never went around to re-post it so it's probably full of typos - one day... and hahaha omg that'd be golden - damn I can't remember if anyone wrote something like that in S5 back when the con episode aired, but people were totally saying it'd have been awesome if they took him for someone RP-ing as himself, lol.

I CANNOT wait for Iron Man 3... I am so jealous of the rest of the world that gets it a week before me. got spoiled for the end of credit appearance and it's exciting, but TONY! he's my favorite, as you know, so I am very very very excited. making plans with my guitar teacher to see it ASAP :)

I watched the Originals and OMG, it was indeed terrible. I mean... New Orleans is one of my favourite place in the world, and I, personally, quite like Klaus... but REALLY? I mean... no. that was really bad. nothing made sense. never been a fan of that type of storyline and I am frankly surprised the show was picked up with that premise. On the other hand TVD was TERRIBLE at first too. who knows. I am not sure if I'll follow it, maybe in a trainwreck kind of way. To be honest I am getting tired of TVD because vamp!elena bores me to death. I need a Caroline and Matt all the time show or something.

what is that reasonable time thing you are talking about? *innocent*

They came out pretty good too! :D

Right I forgot we got it one week earlier, I hope you like it when it's out! :D it was pretty good, and says one whose investment isn't exactly on OMG CRAZY levels. Also the credits scene was GOOD, OKAY, AND IT GAVE ME FEEEELS. ;)

Yep. And the thing.. well, I've never been to NO so I can't say, but if you looked at Treme it seemed shot *there*, in TO tbh it could have been any other place in the world - I wasn't getting any.. strictly NO vibe from it, if it makes sense? Anyway, it was just horrid regardless - how did they even come up with the baby thing? DDDD: I suppose I'll see reviews and if it's like TVD and becomes awesome (I doubt, but still) I'll probably check it out [mostly for Elijah though] - I mean, while I'll look at the vampire porn forever because IAN I don't exactly have any investment of that kind in the Originals thing, so.. we'll see? But yeah, also with you on vamp!Elena having been around like five episodes too much ;) I'd be okay with the Damon/Matt/Caroline show tbh..

.. IT DOES NOT EXIST I SUPPOSE

Charlie is great, isn't she? I loved her in her first episode and since then, they've done a great job fleshing out what could have been a one-off throwaway character. And can I just say that I LOVE that the boys now have friends that they can hug and stuff...it's great. I've always been a big fan of them having a "hunter family," and though the deaths we've had in the past still hurt a bit, I'm glad they've introduced new characters to be a part of that family. Dean/Charlie friendship FTW - I LOVE their connection and their relationship.

As for Cas...yeah, caught the "he's so dreamy" line, which clearly seems like a shout-out to Dean since Charlie doesn't find guys attractive...hmm. I think I'm with you on them being platonic life partners at least...I still don't think the show is going to overtly go there, but I do think it seems like they're going to leave it open to interpretation. So the show ending with the definite premise that Dean and Cas are going to spend their lives together...sounds great to me, and us fangirls can fill in the rest ;) Seriously, that's sounding like my best-case scenario right about now.

But yayy, that episode was great and I DO like that they're getting more in touch with their emotions this season. Far better than S7 and really, most of the past few seasons. So, yay for that!

P.S. those cookies are adorable!

Ikr? I want her around forever. I like her a lot generally and they really made a great job with her - can we have her around forever? And YES EXACTLY I just want them to finally be able to function like normal people, AND FINALLY I'M GETTING IT. Sure I wish that less people died along the way but as it is now I'm good with it :) if they bring Benny back I'm cool though

That line.. really couldn't have been about anything else? Like, Charlie isn't into men and she was kind of looking at Dean in the mirror when she said it, not to mention that if she knows him from the books she read them from Dean's POV, so if she says she's dreamy it's.. a Dean-colored vision thing or why would she even go there? I'm still not betting money that they'll hook up for real, but I think that it's ending with the two of them spending the rest of their life together in *some* capacity while Sam gets his family - there's just no way they're writing like this if that isn't at least a possible endgame. I'm totally down with the platonic life partners thing really.

Oh this totally beats S7 by miles, and S6 too though S6 has some of my favorite single episodes, and I'd probably put it above one and three too as far as it is. I'm enjoying it so much omg <3

Thanks! :D

2) omg yes, this! i thought i was the only one who couldn't stomach whatever it was that they dished up in that backdoor pilot. also, i weep for Elijah (Klaus doesn't care buddy, he really doesn't. live your life instead!)

3) SUPERNATURAL WAS SO PERFECT OMG. i had ALL THE FEELINGS about Charlie, and Charlie&Dean and, just, please can we keep Charlie forever? she's so precious, and she gets both boys, and SHE GETS CAS!!! *happy place* totally agree with you - this season is rocking (except for all that crap about Sam and Amelia), and it has me all excited about SPN :D

4) I swear I had like four people asking *me* for relationship advice and I wanted to cry in frustration at them every time - like, why the fuck would you ask *me*, but apparently I wasn't too bad at it.
lol, this so much! i still don't understand why i get asked. i've only ever been in one relationship and that lasted 4 months.

3) IKR IT GOT SO GOOD I WANT EVERYTHING TO BE LIKE THIS SEASON AND CHARLIE IS LOVELY AND PERFECT AND ADORABLE AND YES EVERYTHING. I love this season. I want to cuddle it to my chest. ;)

4) usually I'm told 'since you're not in a relationship you can have an objective look at it!' and I'm like 'sure, and also I can totally advise you based on close-to-zero personal experience, uh nope?' ;)

Thank you, bb!! 'Twas a fairly nice birthday in that there were books -- but no Austen books, which is fortunate, or I'd have to go all Fahrenheit 451 on 'em. ;)

Dear show, stay like this forever, thanks.
can we keep Charlie forever?
I want Dean to have good friendships and this one is totally working perfectly for me. now just bring Benny back okay

x1000! I am you and you are me and we are all together. (with apologies to Lennon and McCartney for misquoting.) I didn't think I'd like Charlie at first, but she's become my favorite character after the guys themselves. She just works, you know? Charlie clicks into the Winchester dynamic like a missing puzzle piece, she gets along with / cares about Sam and Dean, and darn it, she's adorable. I want her to stick around as long as possible.

Yes. Yesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyes. . . YES!! \o/ And the best part? Dean and Sam are growing . . . healing . . . changing for the better. We have yet to see what the next three episodes will bring, but I'm loving how the guys seem to be undergoing a sort of rebirth. LOVING it.

my one-sided love affair with Stephen King's novels.

Other novels? Heh. Eddie Dean heard that. And he's jealous. ;)

the thing I feared most was my maths homework, lol.

With ya on that one, bb. The biggest threat to my GPA was always math. Geometry was mostly okay, and even calculus made some sense after a while, but algebra could go DIAF.

Someone started kissing the cd all over, one girl's hands were positively shaking and she dropped it like ten times and they were all seriously squeeing like crazy.

Over a Bieber CD. O_o BRB, dying. XDDDDDD

someone in that class who apparently had some class was drooling over a Doors best of and like no one else knew who they were.

. . . these idjits never heard of the Doors? The DOORS?!? Whiskey. Tango. Foxtrot. *weeps for humanity with you*

his fans reacting with 'who's this Anne Frank and why is Justin going to HER house and not to mine' and I decided that it's a lost generation.

"Who's this Anne Frank"??? *facepalms repeatedly* Oh, dear God. I thought Bieber's narcissistic, idiotic comment that Frank would've been a "fan" of his was bad enough, but his fans are apparently even bigger idiots. What's that about those who don't remember the past being doomed to repeat it? We are royally boned when folks don't even KNOW the past. You're definitely right about that generation being lost . . . and those boneheads are going to RUN things one day.
/get off my lawn, etc.

Eh, I thought you said you could burn water? Those cookies look AWESOME!!

Hey, I'm watching a Dario Argento film right now . . . totally in Italian with English subs . . . and being an Argento flick, well, lotsa people die in horrible ways, so people keep yelling "pazzo assassino!" Heh, I'll learn Italian yet, or at least all the Italian terms for "killer" and "psycho" and such. (And bonus -- the score is by Morricone! Molto bella!)

See? Learning! XD

eta: Dang, why are my replies to your posts always so long? Sorry!!

Yay for books and double yay for not-Austen books! ;)

... LENNON/MCCARTNEY QUOTING IS NEVER A BAD THING. Actually it was pretty apt, lol. She's definitely made my top ten and could easily make the top five with some more time and I just really really *like* her all around? Regular for S10, please? *bats eyelashes at TPTB*

I KNOW. FINALLY THEY'RE DOING THINGS LIKE NORMAL PEOPLE DO. I'M VERY RELIEVED AND HAPPY AT THIS, really. I've been spending years wishing that they just could have regular relationships/express feelings like regular human beings, I'm in love with this season. Really. If we have the other two like this, I'm totally down with it.

Well, Eddie Dean was obviously my first love affair ever and I'm totally still keeping myself for him should he choose to drop by. ;) BUT LARRY UNDERWOOD WAS A WORTHY OPPONENT FOR MY AFFECTIONS /o\ (though really I spent like 70% of my time between 15 and 17 reading King novels, he should at least recognize that I gifted him my best years... ;) )

I always was pretty decent at geometry, but clearly it wasn't an HS subject here =_='' it was just maths. And while I wasn't an utter failure at trigonometry for some reason (I mean, I got average grades but nothing horrible) algebra/anything beyond second-level equations was... uuuuh... not my thing. Which is why I was rather fine with translating ancient greek tbh.

Yep. Hardly the most rare finding you could come across in a record shop these days..... seriously, I've made my number of scenes in record shops but it wasn't for shit that was widely available? Kids these days. And yep. No Doors and apparently no Metallica either? I'll just go and keep on weeping for humanity.

Yep. Happened too. I realize that saying 'WHAT DO THEY STUDY AT SCHOOL THESE DAYS' makes me sound like my grandmother but ffs when I was at school everyone who had been done with elementary school (so anyone older than ten) at least knew who she was, and in most schools you have to read the diary at some point in middle school so - I DON'T EVEN GET IT D: I suppose that every generation deserves their spokesman and if theirs is Justin Bieber then we can just write them off as a failed generation and hope that the next isn't as bad? I mean, I have reasons to think that the kid is generally a bad thing without going into his (hideous) music (meaning: that he leaves that kind of comments at Anne Frank's house and that he thinks that *rape happens for a reason so people shouldn't get abortions ever*, which is totally the message I'd like 12-yo girls to embrace these days...), but the fans usually always manage to trump whatever stupid shit he pulls.

and those boneheads are going to RUN things one day.

that's exactly the problem D:

Apparently I can bake! ... I still can't cook proper stuff worth a damn, but still. ;) they came out better than I thought :D

HAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA well that'd be you crazy killer so you're totally on the good way! You're indeed learning! ;) (and nnghhh Morricone <33) was that Bird with a Crystal Plumage? (Which is the only one I can recall right now which I'm sure had the Morricone soundtrack - thaaat's a nice movie)

No problem, I like long replies ;) ;)

YES! Middle school was when I read "The Diary of Anne Frank," "To Kill A Mockingbird," even "The Great Gatsby." Alas, from what I've seen of my nephews' school curricula, kids read a lot less these days. I just fired off a bunch of texts to said nephews, and neither of them (one in high school, one in middle school) has ever read the book. /o\ But they both know who Bieber is. *cries*

he thinks that *rape happens for a reason so people shouldn't get abortions ever*

WTF?! Seriously, WHAT? I tend to ignore news about him, so totally missed that little incident. And he's still got fans after that? I think my opinion of the average Bieber-fan's IQ just dropped 100 points.

LARRY UNDERWOOD WAS A WORTHY OPPONENT FOR MY AFFECTIONS

LOL, you! (It is possible that I was more of a Nick Andros kinda girl, but Larry definitely had his awesome points. Besides, he was a survivor -- not an easy task in that book.)

was that Bird with a Crystal Plumage?

Alas, no. It was Cat O' Nine Tails, arguably the worst of all his films. Creepy, though.

And now I need to re-watch Bird.

re: SPN

b) Charlie & Dean are my new favorite BFFs. Like, I haven't been reading a lot of fic lately, but I would read the hell out of anything about the 2 of them hanging out together. And LARPing.

c) FOR REAL. Dean & Cas need to just be together already.

d) ALL OF THIS. AND BENNY TOO. Man, I'd love to see Charlie and Benny together in an episode. Charlie: So he's a vampire? Dean: Yep. Charlie: But he won't eat me, right?

e) SAM! MAYBE WHEN THIS IS OVER YOU WILL FINALLY BELIEVE YOU ARE A HERO.
