You know, I was spoiled for both Nadia and Alex. LUCKILY.

FLASHFORWARD

1. Now, was this meant to make me like Ben? Or think he's the good guy? Because well, problem is, it didn't work. He and Locke seems to have switched personalities or WTF and sincerely, I still prefer Locke with everything that it brings. Sorry, didn't work. He just isn't the kind of villain that works for me.

2. OH SAYID. I knew it. I mean, that Nadia was dead. And well, that was the best possible way to recruit him, I reckon. But Ben's smile after he turned? I totally think he's behind it. I think that Sayid is being royally mindfucked. *hugs him* Though... erm... sure, he was in love with Nadia, but did the writers forget that Shannon existed once? *argh*

3. So Benry is Indiana Jones revisited. Not cool. Harrison Ford was better.

4. So Widmore said the island was HIS?? WTF??

5. So, Ben said to Sayid your friend Desmond. Sorry. I just burst up giggling. Sure.

6. Regarding that, I don't think that they're ever killing Penny. I mean, it sounded like they wanted to do the shocker (and it worked because I was totally WTF??), but it isn't ever going to happen IMHO. Why? (and why I hope it doesn't?)

a) If Ben himself was to kill her, they'd probably use it as the Redemption Moment. I'd hate it, but I could see them doing it if they want Ben to be the good guy.

b) I personally think that Ben isn't one that would get his hands dirty like that. I mean, he did it with Locke but there he was totally jealous. If he ever sent Sayid to kill Penny, well, Sayid isn't ever going to kill Desmond's girlfriend. No way.

c) If they actually do kill her, Desmond is toast. And if Desmond is toast.... well, get the consequences.

BTW, no Desmond? SAD. *sigh*

7) So Widmore has nightmares and relies on McClutcheon's or how it was called? Oh well..

I've been watching even when my favorite character was the first to bite it and I guess I'd take Des and/or Sayid biting it to make me give up entirely so I'll keep on watching but that? It was way to brutal. Like, good, let's kill off everyone who we can't bother to write a good storyline for! *rolls eyes* I mean, I was already fed up for Danielle but after 8, it just didn't surprise me. And being spoiled was good. I'd have been much more enraged otherwise.

17) Sawyer DID something! And he was totally awesome. Being all heroic and nice with Hurley and all. Oh, I love him.

19) Looocke....... can I has your Walkabout self back, please? You actually weren't that bad here (I was fed up with Ben too much to take notice) but man, I really used to like you once. The only good thing out of this is that it was excellent fodder for a Des/Sayid bunny of doom I had yesterday at a lecture. Which doesn't include killing Penny, thankfully.

Well, this is only going to bring out a semi apocalyptic Sayid/Des thing I had in mind for a while. And probably a sorta Sayid epic that it's been going on in my brain since The Economist. Nothing of the happy sort, though. You know, I almost feel glad that Boone bit it so early. Just because since they brought me on the low point about Lost deaths before S1 was over, I just expect it from them (apart from the Charlie one but that's a whole other matter) and I guess that only killing Desmond right now would make me really pissed off. I mean, really pissed off. Right now I just lost hope regarding their death policy. And well, from June we'll have another nine month hiatus. I just hope they don't send us there with other deaths on the finale because I'm sincerely fed up of deaths.

Edit: I had written some sort of big spoiler so I deleted it, but anyway, seems that at least they're taking back one death this season. Hallelujah.

Clearly CC and DL are Italian fascists. I let them off way too easily in Fangirls. If I had known about Alex and threats on Penny...well, it would have been apocalyptic.

I agree, I hope Penny's death threat is just for shock value. They haven't built up Des and Penny just to have her removed from the picture. And there is no way Sayid would kill her. No way.

Of course, I also thought Alex was completely safe. What do I know?

Sayid had been through a lot. He mourned Shannon so him reuniting with Nadia and having him seize love with both arms seems seem about right. I feel bad for Shannon seemingly being only delightful distraction for Sayid. That always seemed out of character, especially how fast he moved.

The doctor situation is interesting. I hadn't thought about there being a time warp but rather the freighters were lying or didn't realize the doc was missing.

The whole "your friend Desmond" part was squee worthy! Though I doubt Ben used the Elizabeth to get off, I don't like the idea of him touching Desmond's boat at all. STAY AWAY ! Sawyer was also pretty damn squee worthy.

Poor Jack, getting also grossed out by Kate's strip tease. That what made him sick!

One thought I had was that maybe, in 2005, Widmore will try to join forces with Desmond to protect Penny? NOW he'll think Desmond is worthy? Will they kill off Desmond while he's trying to protect the woman he loves? If Ben tries to get Sayid to kill Pen, he won't do it. NO fucking way.

You can talk bad about Claire how much you want. I'll admit that lately I can't stand her and if she had to bite it I'd be pissed only because they've killed too many people already, but right now I don't care for her a bit.

1. Oh, GOD who much do I HATE that they keep trying to make me believe Ben is one of the good guys. Hatehatehatehatehate. Can't I just enjoy him and be entertained by him as the piece of vile scum he is?

2. Sayid was the only part of the timetraveling nonesense that I loved because Naveen is SO damned good. I even forgot he got temporarily lost between Shannon's legs (tm Laura) in his quest for Nadia. This is why Ben and Widmore crap is starting to annoy me. I don't want Sayid and co. to be mere pawns in their idiotic SO TOTALLY NOT WORTH IT game. I love Sayid and the people whom I'm already invested in, let them have their own story.

6. Penny's hiding in the safety of the magical kingdom of HBO. No, seriously. The actress is very busy on her other show and TPTB have said that we're only going to see glimpses of her when she's free there.

10. I felt sympathy pains, it was horrible to watch. But also fantastic how Foxy transitioned from his suspicions about the freighties confirmed and fear he won't be able to protect the sheep to intense physical pain and knowing he won't get to the boat in time. *huggles*

11. OMG HOW MUCH DO I LOVE THE TWO SPY DOCTORS??? Srsly, smart catch Jack, he knew Bernard might know Morse code when he heard him mention it but Daniel the ubergenius didn't catch that. And Bernard is SO made of win, I really wish Rose would stop being such a bitch to him sometimes.

15. I can't stand the way she feels so... ENTITLED to Jack that she feels she can turn the feminine wiles on at the drop of a hat. It was somewhat bugging me back when she did it in Lockdown for instance, but that's when Jack was stupid enough to allow himself to think maybe she won't run back to Sawyer THIS TIME. Now he knows better, which is why both here and in The Economist he catches himself after the inital reaction to flirt back. Because as soon as Sawyer's dick is back in the premises, she'll just jump right back on that. She thinks he'll just fall at her feet, she'll flirt with him but she will NEVER open up to him to give him a straightforward... anhything. I think I'm supposed to feel for her cause poor thing she feels she's not good enough, but... I happen to agree wholeheartedly with her and think it's SHITTY that even after she KNOWS that:

*he saw her fucking Sawyer and it "broke his heart"
*he thinks her and Sawyer are in a relationship cause Jack defended him to her
*he actually TOLD her I love you
*reached out to her and was trying to figure out if she's still Sawyer's girlfriend after she came back from Otherville

...she will still not grant him at least the courtesy to let him know where he stands and what her relations with Sawyer's dick are THIS week. If she kept it to herself and didn't continue to act like a hormonal teenager around him, that would be OK, but... like I said... entitlement.

That exactly about Alex. Meh, it was such a good storyline.. it makes me uneasy that they ditched them for Ben character development for how much I can appreciate the character. *sighs*

I absolutely loved the ep. Everything in it. Things that come to mind:

The awesomeness that's Sawyer. The whole thing. His whole being. Everything. I thought I was in love before, ha.

Ben. I don't think Ben can say a sentence that won't have a thousand meanings and implications and meanting and self-refence to the text itself and everything. I think, at least his discourse, best construction of character ever.

I loved that they gave Widmore a voice. Now I don't know who the bad guy is. I kind of fell in Windmore's trap then ;) Where is Penny, btw? Why can't the find her? If Widmore is so connected with the island, then so it's Penny, and that only makes her epic love (and even Desmond's character) more significant. Lots of lot.

Sayid the assassin is back, even if the reason for that is, IMO, horribly sentimental and clicheish. But I liked his question. Who is next? Great!

Smokey saving the day? All kinds of love for that kind of amazing situational irony.

Sawyer/Claire. Sawyer/Hugo. Sawyer/Kids. Sawyer/random people. Sawyer/Aaron. THis equals? Sawyer/Lenina.

I did loved the episode. I'm sorry about Alex, though. And Karl and Rousseau. That is sad. But I liked what it accomplished, I guess. Not only the amazing develpment of a character like Ben, but well, showing us the horror that is the freigher. People still doesn't see the horror that is the freighter. It's the horror, the horror, in the most Conradian way possible.

I hadn't thought about that even if I'd have had Conrad's children if I could have and damn you're right! That kind of made the point.

My main issue is that Danielle was my favorite female there ever and I thought that Alex/Danielle was a very compelling storyline. Sincerely it grits on me that they had to ditch it that way (and shooting a sixteen year old in the head) to give Ben of everyone character development. Because for how much I can appreciate the character, I'll never be able to like him the way they want me to ;)

But apart from that, I kind of liked it. Assassin Sayid is always a treat (and I'll forgive him for the Shannon forgetting). I also loved the Widmore exchange and well, I hope that Penny is safe. Anyway she isn't ever dying. Not before she meets Desmond. No-way. And I'm convinced that the last scene has to be post-Economist.

The reason for AssassinSayid was terribly cliché but alas, I don't think he'd have worked for Ben for less.

Sawyer/Claire. Sawyer/Hugo. Sawyer/Kids. Sawyer/random people. Sawyer/Aaron. THis equals? Sawyer/Lenina.

Apparently there's some kind of time warp on the island. I remember it being December 24th when Sayid and Des got to the freighter, but according to many fans who have been counting, it was December 26th when they left the island. So I guess that explains why the doctor is still alive on the boat since they're two days behind.
