2. In better news: next week there's a referendum and for the first time in my life I'm actually hopeful that it goes the way I hope, and I'm this close to clutching my voting certificate. Hey, if it goes as I want we don't get nuclear centrals (like, no. We're not technically ready for that, not now and not before a couple of centuries, regardless of other implications) and B. doesn't have excuses not to go under trial anymore. It feel so weird not to go voting with a sense of gloom hanging over your head.

3. In fandom news: I've been interviewed at rec_hymenated! It was some great fun. And I blathered a lot. I guess it wasn't unexpected.

I CAN BARELY EXPRESS MY JOY. JUST - THIS SHIP. It makes me suffer like no other and it's throwing me for emotional rollercoasters but it's always given me such satisfaction. THESE TWO. Them and their profound bond and all the things they'd do for each other and everything Cas did for Dean and and and ;___; I'M IN LOVE WITH MY SHIP RIGHT NOW AND EVERYTHING IS AWESOME AND CANON DOESN'T HURT. 2. On less exciting news, top five post is still open for business! What I have for now is awesome but since I won't get to do it until the weekend..

3. I swear I'm going to stop talking about the SPN finale at some point, but I'm this close to make the first sort-of-polemic post in my entire fandom life. I don't like to be polemic but there's one thing that's being said a lot which is making me go like 'PLEASE DON'T'. Meeeh. Also I think there's too much finale-inspired stuff I want to write ( spoilers for it ) When what I really should do is finish editing the spn_j2_bigbang story and get it betaed even if I have time for that.

4. Finals start in about two weeks or three. I'm absolutely NOT excited for that but at least it's just three. Which would be good. Except that we already started with bureaucracy crap and hell I so had NOT missed that. Italian university, such a failure.

5. Okay, that was all. Yes, not exactly consistent but it was made because of point one mostly. I'll now go writing stuff at the Lost comment fic meme at lostsquee while I rub my hands happily thinking about point one. Also I decided I'll try giving the weekly fic recs a go - let's see if I actually stick to it.

Or: nothing in this post is related to Ally McBeal, but having an icon quoting Richard Fish is a good enough reason to do it. This entry will be mostly random linkage for random stuff but apparently this is the weekend I need to link things.

1) For Lost fandom people: me and toestastegood are deciding whether (and how) to run the luau at lostsquee this summer, so could you please vote in this poll so we can have an idea of the interest? Thanks! :D

2) For Dean/Cas people: vote for Dean/Castiel in that favorite romantic couple on TV poll! ;) If you haven't done that already, of course. I think it's a pretty safe win but this morning it kinda wasn't, so I'll just put it out there.

3) For SPN people needing some uplifting after the finale, here are two excellent codas (I should rec fic more often, I should).

a) In the garden by blue_fjords (Castiel, Joshua, mild Dean/Cas). A conversation in a garden, one year after the events of 6x22. which is absolutely lovely and has amazing imagery and I just love everything about it.
b) Redemption by epicycles (Dean/Cas-ish, also has Sam and Bobby). Coda to the episode, no further summary provided. Also, it's totally what I decided happens in 7x01 until that episode happens and canon proves me wrong. It's short but totally happy-providing.

4) For SPN people liking Balthazar: there's a Balthazar centric fanworks exchange at spn_balthazar. I signed up even if I totally shouldn't have because I barely have time for the rest, but the minimum is 1000 words and it should be fun. Also more Balthazar is never a bad thing so I figured I'd link this too. There's time until June 1st to sign up.

5) Misha Collins, I don't know how you can look so gorgeous while driving a chariot with a mule in Brazil, but I love your face.

6) For Misha people: sneak peek from Divine The Series which I'm sure everyone has seen up to now but I need to link it, too. Also: I totally and absolutely do -not- find priest attire sexy, or anything church-religion related sexy, but dammit Misha you're making me change my mind.



7) For everyone, because after spending yesterday's afternoon pondering over how half of the Kill Bill V2 lines fit the SPN finale in a very creepily accurate way, 100 of the views of this video on YT are probably mine, get the Kill Bill V2 almost-final scene. No scene where what happens in this happens has the right to be so damned gorgeous and to make me ship them like nothing else, but seriously.

3. SPN people, if you haven't checked out the site for Divine: the series... do it. It sounds the right kind of insane. Also considering that Misha is partially behind it - I don't even know. I'm totally excited for it. (Also if anyone wants to be friends on there I'm Janie and I have the bride of Frankenstein in my avatar - I wish I looked like Elsa Lanchester *cough*.) Also lol I love that it's basically all SPN/Smallville/Vancouver-based-shows people making an online series pet project, aww. I mean all the actors are from that lot too, it sounds like such a family business thing. xD

4. Possible other sign of the apocalypse: in the last three days the more I hear politics news the more I want to weep for joy instead of frustration. Or: PM isn't going away anytime soon but he just got a pretty major blow and just hearing him seething and eating his own hands is making me happy. I had lost hope of ever being happy about politics in my lifespan or something. Now I'll just bask in the feeling until it lasts because I'm pretty sure that I'll have a bunch of reasons to bitch in a short while, but still. PM seething = did anything else happen?

5. I'm posting my spn_j2_bigbang story on July 29th which means that I'll have at least enough time to edit it as it pleases me. Though I really should work on the only major one I wanted to make instead of procrastinating on that (what news). Also I should seriously finish a couple of long things and then work on the two other challenge stories I have signed for but I guess I'll finish with the five acts stuff and then get to that. Especially I should work on the dcbb one since it's gonna be long. Joys of planning fic, but writing regularly again feels pretty awesome.

5b. Last day I re-watched The Good, The Bad and The Ugly because writing spaghetti western fic makes you want to. Then I found this online. I think I have to share.

6. Uhm, so for the first time in my life I had the dubiously lovely chance to watch Eurovision. And Italy got second when we hadn't been in there for like thirteen years. It was the sublime kind of trash. Also out of 25 I think that there were just two songs that could have been considered not bad, but I guess it's why it's the sublime kind of trash.

4. Life has been fairly uneventful lately. The fact that I don't go to the cinema anymore because the huge one giving movies in original language with subtitles has closed just made it even less eventful, and going like once each month when I manage feels massively weird. Though I've been reading a bunch of stuff which is fairly good at least because I'm actually finishing books instead of starting too many and not finishing anything.

5. Also my favorite class this year includes doing group work (eeeek!), except that no one else wants to work on the article I volunteered for. I just hope it's a question of subject, but tbh while I hate group work I don't even want to explain shit about ancient greek philosophy on my own or at least without someone to share the blame with if I say crap. xD Also I have to stop myself from snorting whenever Anaximander is mentioned, which is becoming a problem. Also last day we were supposed to download a program while in class -- the speed was 6.6 kbs per second. Obviously no one managed. Clearly universities can't afford a decent wireless..

6. Also uhm how is everyone doing with notifications? Because I'm sure I received a huge backlog but not a bunch from the first three days of the fiasco. Am I the only one? *looks around*

7. Anyway, going to work on a post about stuff to do/see in Rome which I had promised to some JIB-headed friends and possibly finish some more fic and feeling like I'm not slacking off while masterfully avoiding to think about the group work possible fiasco.

Or, hi, this is the way long entry that I always end up doing when I don't update for two weeks.

1. Hii! *waves* how are things going? Between LJ not notifying me stuff and RL things clearly I've been around even less, but I think I might be caught up on notifications, or most of them, so expect a backlog of comments.

2. That said, RL is going nicely enough. I had a lovely time with wandersfound which included her experiencing the true Italian driving (which wasn't exactly flattering for me, but whatever), the both of us getting stuck in my elevator for some ten minutes before my dad and another guy basically forced the doors open by mere force and walking around a damn lot. Then thankfully all the classes I'm taking this round are good and in two cases on three I'm actually interested, so since I really didn't have much choice I won't be the one complaining. Now I should bring myself to study some before May, maybe.

3. Since I wanted to try the new camera, I did that what's in your bag meme that was around last week.

1. Take a picture of your bag.

2. So everyone in SPN fandom knows about Misha sending out puzzle pieces because he couldn't send real rhino meat to people, y/y? (That man is crazy.) Well, mine got in yesterday! :D I was so sure that I had screwed something up. Or well, since he/his PA added something like five stamps I had probably gotten the stamps wrong, but whatever, it arrived in spite of the suckiness of the Italian postal service, which makes me very happy indeed. Anyone on my fl on team five as well? *looks around*

3. Aaaand *drum roll* after a year because clearly my uncle screwed up with gifting me dvds, I'm done with Six Feet Under S4! I started S5 as well but before the whole thing becomes a blur in my mind I'll just write down my S4 impressions and S5 will come in a couple of days. Seriously it's taken me such a ridiculous time to finish this..

4. Quick movie recs post: The King's Speech is an excellent movie and deserves all the awards it gets (and the acting is amazing. Everyone's acting actually. I'm so glad I caught it not dubbed..). I sadly haven't managed to watch any other Oscar nominated movie since none of the others is out here yet. *siiigh* on the other hand, I don't know what were the judges at the Rome Film Festival on when all of them at once decided that Kill Me Please deserved to win, but it was one of the most confusing movies I've ever seen. And not because it was too complex, but because you really don't get what the heck is the point of it. Or at least I haven't. I'm still asking myself what the heck was the point of the whole thing.

5. I don't have pictures of the Adler's Appetite concert I attended with _izu_ and marlonob last week (though I will have them, as soon as they're sent over to me), but, for GNR savvy people, I glomped Steven Adler. I might have picture proof of at least hugging him (the glomping wasn't recorded, thankfully). It made me a very happy person.

1. Favorite childhood book?
Anne Frank's Diary. I just tore my copy to pieces back then, I used to re-read it like I re-read a few other things. Oh, well, and the Sherlock Holmes books. I was obsessed. Badly. My favorite was Sign of the Four though.

6. This is probably already too long because of the book meme so I probably want to finish this entry here.

Hooowever. I realized that there are some people I talk to on my flist whom I haven't added back when they did add me, and then some other added me lately but since I wasn't asked I didn't add back either. Now, amnesty question: do you want me to add you back? Especially if we talk? (and if we don't say hi? I don't bite, really.) And that was the last thing for now. Phew. Long entry was long.

1. So, in my 'OMG I NEED TO FINISH THE GODDAMN THESIS' frenzy which won't sadly be over until Friday (but at least I'm far enough), I totally neglected a bunch of birthdays. So, happy birthday (for today) to eponine119 and happy late birthday (in some cases extremely late) to crickets, zoemathemata, briteskies and uuuh, everyone else who had their birthday in November. <3 I hope you all have had/are having in one case a great time and uh, happy late birthday again. <333

2. Okay so uh I have an exchange fic due in three days and I haven't started it. Eee. Well, tomorrow I'm off work so if I can work on the thesis in the morning/early afternoon I'll see to do it in the evening or something. Why am I always so last minute? I hope it teaches me regarding the master's degree, because if I end up like this in the next two years... okay, no. *doesn't think about it* why is procrastination so tempting? (Reading: why did I have to find out that there exists a free game on stephenking.com which is Dark Tower inspired? Sadly it ended too soon once I figured it out, but it made me lose enough time. Ugh, procrastination.)

3. Switching topic happily and without care for subject.. my PM's comment on students protesting because two weeks before the confidence vote they're approving the most hideously stupid reform that has ever been conceived: 'if you're real students, you'd be home on books' (and not worrying about the fact that you're destroying public university). It made me wish I was out marching too, but I can't because I'm apparently a real student and I need to get my degree, ugh. I feel so bad.
